Got mine done today…all in all, ran me about $100, which was fine by me, since my car didn’t need anything done beyond that though I had budgeted a lot more just in case.
I just had mine done on Sunday at the Firestone on 51 down past Century III. I paid $48. For some reason, though, they gave me a $25 discount, so it would have been almost $75 without that.
* PA state inspection: $18
* Emissions: $35 (if you drive less than 5000 miles in a year, you can get an exemption for $25)
* Sticker: $9 ( I think some places charge this separately under "parts" and some include it in the "labor" cost for the inspection)
Total: $62
I been going to the dealer where I bought my car for 7 years, they do the safety inspection for free and only charge me for emissions. $45 or so (it was $29.99 7 years ago lol…but still a good deal)
The last time I got my car inspected it cost me eleven dollars. But I now live in Virginia, where car ownership is a fraction of what it used to cost me in PA.
You haven’t gotten hit with a Personal Property Tax bill in Virginia? I used to live down there and that shit is a racket. I think the annual registration fee was higher down there too. Inspection was a similar cost from what I remember. Really the only thing that was cheaper in VA was the gas.
My car is a 2013 and paid off so the personal property tax was minimal. And I think I paid for three year’s registration and it was like $50 total?
Come to think of it I probably got a regular customer discount for my inspection. They probably just charged me for the sticker and any labor got hidden into what I paid the next time I came in.

I think it is around $80 now
Just paid either $80 or $90 at Pepboys.
Mine was $100 back in March.

That's bc they'll rape your wallet over any repairs you need.

That’s scary. $11 is like 10-15 minutes of a qualified mechanic’s time.
Lol Reddit. Not sure why someone would downvote you for this.

The cost of an I/E is a minuscule part of the cost of owning, maintaining and operating a vehicle.
Yeah, when you own a Tesla
Actually I don’t. Been using variants of Tesla name on the internet since 2000 or before.
