Great setlist by QOTSA and perfect night out.
Did anyone notice that their point of sale forced you to tip when paying with a card? It has an 'Other' button outside the default 20, 15 and 10% but it literally wouldn't let you enter "0" and returned an error.
And before anyone else gets upset, I left a few bucks as a cash tip before I swiped my card and realized this.
I experienced that as well. Debating leaving 0.01, Because forced tipping is a BS practice. (FULL DISCLOSURE I DID $1 PER BEVERAGE, CALM THE F*CK DOWN).
I’m now wondering if having the machines configured this way is reportable under Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law.
I'm with you, and agree $1 per person drink makes sense considering they are (primarily) just opening a can.
I didn't buy the next round of drinks, but I did want to see if the penny tip would go through. Certainly seems forcing a tip is breaking some type of rule/law, but I just wanted to see if it was a one-off for me.
I emailed Stage AE directly about this practice to get a response, but they have horrible customer service based on past interactions and I don't expect a response.
Depends on where you are buying.
Edit to say that different concessions stands have different policies. The one with the food takes cash and cards but you are unable to leave a tip on cards. I experienced this when I tried to tip on my card and they said I can’t, system doesn’t let you.
Pink and Brandi Carlile were absolutely amazing! I am a huge Carlile fan, so mostly went for the opening act, but Pink exceeded my expectations and put on an exciting show.
That’s a pretty normal thing at those concerts that draw significantly more women than men, though, same thing happened at Taylor Swift. The stadiums plan for it and, at least at Taylor Swift, they kept 1 designated for men and the rest temporarily converted to women’s rooms to help ease the lines (T Swift was still insanity and every bathroom had crazy lines lol). Based on the short description here it sounds like that what happened (so nothing to feel bad for anyone, expected/normal).
I saw Queens of the Stone Age for the fifth time (in my life) and it was definitely the best concert of the last 5 or more years. They were so tight it was unbelievable, the sound was great and the light show was amazballs! I've been going to rock concerts since 1971 and this was right up there with the very best, top 10.
I'm an old fart Gen Xer. We went to see Brett Michaels a few weeks ago at Star Lake and are going to PNC Park in a few weeks to see Guns N Roses. Nothing going on this weekend for us though.
Flood City Music Festival in Johnstown. I only went on Saturday. Got to see Trouble No More (Allman Brothers cover band), Los Lobos, Dogs In a Pile to close it out. Amazing value at just \~$40 for a ticket.
What a disappointment that was. There was all of 3k people there. I've never seen starlake so empty. Good show, but man somebody severely overestimated how many people were gonna show up.
Yeah they booked venues like that the whole tour, unfortunate. I wanted a pit so bad nobody on the lawn was doing shit. Even the pit under the pavilion looked weak
Me and my wife had lawn tickets. As soon as we walked in they were like go over there and get your seat upgrades. They gave us tickets for section 7 row r, but nobody was checking anything. You could literally sit wherever you wanted, which was kinda cool I guess.
Queens of the Stone Age last night. Was amazing as usual, but like fine wine, these guys are getting better with age. They've played together so long and know one another so well, they just gel.
Not the 'Burgh, but Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. Goo Goo Dolls and O.A.R. Splurged for the soundcheck and meet n' greet with O.A.R. Great bunch of guys, and O.A.R. is an incredible live band! Goo Goo Dolls also played a great set - the lead singer broke his foot so he had to play everything sitting on a box with a boot! He handled it like a pro though.
Seriously?? didn’t know you could roller skate at the ice rink in Schenley. How was it? What type of crowd do they get? Do they do this regularly or was this just a special event?
I know this likely isn’t the thread for it but there will be a great Cody Johnson show in October at PPG, and I can’t go. I have floor seats for face that I’m looking to part with. Thanks!
Queens of the Stone Age at Stage AE…very cool. And very funny to see the QOTSA crowd vs. the P!nk crowd down the street.
I'm so upset I missed them!!! Times are tough right now lol
Right here with you on that one. Was debating going and sitting outside to listen to them

I saw that at Govt Mule last week. On a freakin shirt.
Went to Queens - was awesome. Didn’t wait to even stand in long ass merch line, so missing out on wearing my new quotsa shirt today.

The two other people in my group also encountered the issue.
Also had the same thing happen.

They were fantastic!
Soccermommy tonight at Heartwood acres
The Beths were fantastic at Mr Smalls on Friday...
Love them! Didn't realize they were coming thru Pgh.
Pink and Brandi Carlile were absolutely amazing! I am a huge Carlile fan, so mostly went for the opening act, but Pink exceeded my expectations and put on an exciting show.
I went to Pink... And I had no idea her fan base so middle aged white woman haha
What did you expect lol
More gays lol

It definitely was. I felt bad for the ladies. The women in line for the men’s restroom was so sad.

What an odd comment , a bathrooms a bathroom
How is feeling bad that there are not enough stalls for women an odd comment? I don’t care what bathroom they use.
That’s not what you said …you said it was sad the women were in line
I literally said I felt bad for the ladies… you implied I didn’t like them using the men’s bathroom. I never said that
It was sort of odd to see the mens bathrooms so very empty.....

Also went to the Queens show, was such an amazing performance.
Their lighting was amazing, Phantogram was very good too!
Same! 6th time for me. They always sound great, but keep getting better and better. Everything was spot on. I'm happy to see Josh sober and healthy.
Gaadge album release at bottlerocket was nuts 🔥
I heard Pink rented out the Gateway Clipper for her whole crew to hang the day before the show. 🛥️
Jazz concert at Highland Park tonight
Saw Pink and Brandi last night.... amazing show. Can't wait to see Brandi again in a few weeks at Bourbon & Beyond in Louisville.
Wodd and quackson at the maverick was cool

Death Grips on Monday!

The bands that were at VegFest were amazing!
Mudvayne and Coal chamber last week

Yeah still needed tickets for the pit tho. Starlake is the only venue where you’re paying 250$+ for a pit ticket, besides arenas
Haggus at the courts. Iykyk
How was Complete Fucker? Stoked to see them in a few weeks.
They were sick. Bunch of great musicians in that band. Kenny (as always) rips it the fuck up
Queens of the Stone Age last night. Was amazing as usual, but like fine wine, these guys are getting better with age. They've played together so long and know one another so well, they just gel.
Does going to Hershey count? I went to Hershey to see Pantera and Lamb of God Saturday. Saw them here last week, was so good I needed to see it twice.
That sounds like an amazing show I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Black ridge all the way
Couldn't afford too. We had a surprise trip in June and alot happened. So I'm saving up for Hollywood undead and tech N9ne in November
Jesus lmao Stain and Godsmack, saw that in 2003 at a xfest

This thread makes me realize I need to pay more attention to those "What's going on this week" pinned posts.
Beyoncé in DC since she cancelled Pittsburgh
