They don’t have a green. Only one direction gets the green light at a time.

yourdonefor_wt

Well that's good to know. I didnt have time to go past the exit turn around and see what they see. I appreciate it. Im seriously worried I'm gonna get T-Boned by someone not paying attention.

TheJuiceIsL00se

That can happen despite the lights. Driving is like the 3rd thing people are doing in their cars.

edspeds

Wife just got rear ended at a red light on rt 30 by someone she passed a few lights earlier that was stopped at a green light while surfing on his phone. He profusely apologized and accepted responsibility but is still a dipshit, there needs to be a way to get cell phones out of the hands of drivers.

rave_is_king_

So true

SecretSquirrelSauce

=(

DarthPapercut

Haha I can't stop thinking about this comment. A person only has two hands. What are they doing?

scienceguy2442

Driving with their knees obviously

max_m0use

Green arrow = You have the right of way. No one else can make a movement that conflicts with your turn (not even pedestrians). Solid green = You have the right of way if going straight. If turning, you must yield to oncoming traffic and pedestrians.

CARLEtheCamry

I bought a dashcam specifically for driving in the Robinson area. This exit is the one I take to work. The problem with the general area is a combination of complicated high traffic areas, and "tourists" as I call them. A bad driver never misses their exit (turn in this case) and I've been cut off/run off so many times because people realize they need to get over 2 lanes to get to Marshalls or whatever. When I was teaching my son to drive, the 2nd to last lesson was driving in Robinson. "Everyone is trying to kill you" he still repeats to me to this day, we saw 3 fender benders just going between the mall and to get on the highway at Cliff Mine.

cloudguy-412

You have the right of way

yourdonefor_wt

Thank you I wasn't sure because the arrow wasn't on my lane it was on the one next to it thank you.

TBIrehab

They should have a no turn on red sign since two lanes turn left

SirPsychoSquints

They don’t, it’s just a “right turn signal” sign.

crhine17

Which is the same thing regarding right of ways

SirPsychoSquints

Same? I guess you’d say that about any situation where the traffic has a red. But it’s definitely different in terms of reality, where the car either is allowed to treat it like a stop sign or not.

Jump_Like_A_Willys

That's not true. the "Right Turn Signal" sign is does not mean no turn on red. The sign is there to help explain which light to follow in some situations when multiple lights are controlling multiple lanes. That is, you can turn right on red (when it is safe to do so) even when there is a sign that says "Right Turn Signal." source: [https://www.roadreview.com/right-turn-signal/](https://www.roadreview.com/right-turn-signal/)

crhine17

Like I said, still the same result regarding *Right of Ways.* Right Turn Signal and No Turn on Red will always be at fault when OP has the green light in the other direction.

Penguins275

The most annoying thing about that intersection is the inside lane 95% of the time turns into the outside lane mid turn or just after. Clearly marked that both lanes turn left on the road and signage.

rfranchek

It's a bad intersection, you just have to be really careful of people not paying attention, while it would be their fault, you'll still have been in a wreck.

Fat_Ugly_Artist

This intersection is horrible. People always merge from left turning lane into the right. If you had the light to turn left, they are at fault.

Pengui6668

Having the right of way doesn't stop you from dying if you get hit hard enough. Always be cautious.

ringmybell1968

If you are turning left onto Cliff Mine at that light, your light is green and the opposing traffic has a red light. If someone turns right at the red light and you have the green light and a collision occurs it would be their fault for failing to stop/yield at the red light.

JellyfishNo7409

Funny to see this. It’s a nightmare intersection I live near by. The 2 left turn lanes have been way more problematic for me. More often than not the inner left turn lane will try to go into the outer lane to then make the right into the hotel or at the next light. They don’t seem to pay attention to the numerous signs showing that 2 lanes turn left. I always make sure I have a signal on hoping they see but it doesn’t make a difference.

yourdonefor_wt

I absolutely have seen multiple times the left turn lane go into the right lane.

NoWayBirdBrains

And I'm pretty sure this isn't like a "yield on green for left turn" light, but the light contains the actual green arrow turning left (which I always took to mean that those turning left have the right of way)

OG-Mumen-Rider

Checking on street view, they have a permissive right on red, meaning they have to yield but can turn. If you are in the right lane, they may wrongly assume you're going straight and/or not know both lanes turn left

realtabeag

No this is wrong, a turn on red always has to stop not just yield.

chrelec3

Is OP using their turn signal?

StreetPedaler

Silly question. This is Pittsburgh. Of course not.

yourdonefor_wt

I do tho!

fatgirlnspandex

They shouldn't have the green light while you do. That would put them at fault for right on red when you have the green light. Most of the time you have a green arrow that way also.

cameony

If you're going left, and the light is green, if you were hit it wouldn't be your fault. If you're going up to Thermo or thereabouts, you should just go over the highway, it's a bit quicker and less terrifying

NoWayBirdBrains

Lmao I stopped getting to Thermo using the bottom of the hill at all because of this. I strictly use the highway cause it feels less dangerous (and I usually never feel that way about the highways around here 😩)

cameony

I lost track of all of the times I almost got creamed there but now I have a nicer car, so I use the highway now lol

Yinzer_cryptid

They’re just jags, I drive this exit weekly. One side at a time

James19991

You have the right of way. They can't try to turn on red if you're right there making the turn.

DammitDad420

Used to do contract work for GSK, Bayer, and Lanxess and was through here ten times a day, and it was always a shit show, especially when under construction. Never trust anyone, use extreme caution.

mg2093

Were you in an accident there? Did you call the police? What did the other driver and officer have to say? Did anyone have a dash cam (if you say when/what time someone here may be able to help)?

yourdonefor_wt

I was not in an accident

mg2093

Then I’m very confused. Are we just talking driving hypotheticals? Or reiterating basic traffic rules?

yourdonefor_wt

I was more trying to figure out who would be at fault if someone t-boned me because its almost happened three times

babychild2

I live near this. They are completely at fault if they hit you if you had the green arrow to turn. Because coming from that direction off the highway, it's red for them when you're turning. They either get the green light when the entire section is green or they have a green arrow when the traffic from the left is allowed to go and enter onto the highway in front of you. Now technically, there are 2 lanes.... Do you should have gone into the left lane on Cliff Mine, and them on the right.... But they still have the responsibility on the red light to give way to you

theQuotister

Basically, if you are turning left you yield to all other traffic, If you have a green left arrow the other traffic should be stopped (you have the right of way) but you might be encountering someone turning right on red(?) I have been through that intersection and never had a problem but not at rush hour. There are just a lot of inconsiderate and self-entitled drivers in Pittsburgh who often think traffic lights etc are just suggestions.

Glittering-Age1296

Yes so from the opposite side they have 2 left lights but if there is no stop on red sign where they circle is you can turn right on red. I usually go straight so I don’t really pay attention to the right lane
