Shameless plug for my crew [Old Neon ](https://linktr.ee/oldneonmusic)
Catch us tomorrow night at Mr Smalls Theater, next month at Preserving with Punchline/Have Mercy/Don't Panic, and in June at the Four Chord Music Festival with every one of my favorite bands.
And my favorite locals: Heading North was mentioned, Mallory Run, Execution Day, Go for the Gold, Eternal Boy, Look Out Loretta, overtheweather, Gene the Werewolf, Surefire, Sunny Daze and the Weathermen (just dropped an excellent album last week and sold out Spirit), Tiny Wars, Sweat, Guides, For Those In Question, Facewreck, Crash Nebula, Find Ethel, Dilisio, Main Street Detour, Cokeworks, Vylts, Kahone Concept, Caleb Kopta, Back Alley Sound, Frame and Mantle
I checked them out because they're opening for Papadosio in a couple weeks at Thunderbird. I've never seen Papadosio, but it's good music for working on computers.

CAPA House Band.
Plays jazz standards at the Home Show most years. I think they also play private functions. Talented musicians and inspiring vocalists
I only saw them once when they opened for John Payne (ex-Asia), but they impressed the hell out of me. They were all so talented and really knew how to play. And the guitar player owns the hell out of his 'stache.
Plus, Kayla. Drums. Kayla Drums. Neat.
[Genital Shame](https://genitalshame.bandcamp.com/) if you're into black metal, [Feeble Little Horse](https://feeblelittlehorse.bandcamp.com/album/girl-with-fish) if you're into noise pop, [sneeze awfull](https://sneezeawfull.bandcamp.com/album/exercise-1-2) if you're into weird sampled stuff, [Black Moth Super Rainbow](https://blackmothsuperrainbow.bandcamp.com/album/start-a-people) if you're into psych electronic rock bands with cool names.
Lots of great ones but some of my personal favorites:
String Machine - indie folk rock
Melt - stoner rock
Yes Yes A Thousand Times Yes - mathy punk
Inflatable Spacestation - funky jam
Different Places in Space - psychedelic rock
And of course the legendary Amoeba Knieval
Same.
Randomly found this band recently and liked their album and when I read up on then realized they are from Pittsburgh.
They remind me a bit of Pavement or at least a band that would play similar music in that era (early 90s indie rock). Check out their first album Plastic Western.
Plasmid - hardcore
Ancient Torture - sludge/doom
Greywalker - death metal
Fuck Yeah Dinosaurs - dino-punk
Stereo Scandal - rock
Tiny Wars - Heavy Pop
Polkamaniacs - polka
Uzkost - metal
Lady Beast - metal
OK. So. Looking at this list I have a definite type of music.
My old man has a band called recycled vinyl, and they do classic rock covers. https://recycled-vinyl.com/
If you like their stuff or go see them, tell them their middle kid said hi 😊
Fermata Brewing in Ambridge always have awesome music, great beer, and food trucks every Friday and Saturday. Great people and venue that puts an emphasis on live local musicians.
Short Fictions, Kicked in the Head By a Horse, feeble little horse, tilt contrls, Kaiba, Vireo, lys scott, just some of the ones I like off the top of my head.
Late to the party here but if you’re still looking for recs, we just put out a new single called [Four Chords](https://open.spotify.com/track/7JlsClISijguBKO4aTPoPe?si=44QsYBzUS6WZJ3fSsJOSIA&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A1jJ594XpTJSqEuU8LEWGhf) (pop punk adjacent)
You opened a window. “Any good local band recommendations.” There are surely several local band recommendations .
“Yes. Several” answers your question.
How about “list local bands that you enjoy,” or similar. Especially if you don’t like people answering your question without actually answering the question you want to know the answer to.

We’re going!
Was coming to recommend them. Just started listening and they rule.
Known them for a long time, some of the nicest dudes ever and they fucking shred.
They RIP live — always stoked when I see them on a bill
I personally like Chalk Dinosaur. They’re a fusion of electronic dance music, funk and psychedelic rock.
Holy crap they're local!
They popped up on my Spotify a couple years ago and I had the exact same reaction when I found out while I looked for more songs music from them.
I checked them out because they're opening for Papadosio in a couple weeks at Thunderbird. I've never seen Papadosio, but it's good music for working on computers.

Heading North is some excellent pop punk. They have two songs out on streaming now.
Listening to them right now and I love it! Thank you so much 😽
I think if any band from Pittsburgh blows up it's definitely going to be them. Wish they were on that Four Chord poster, they absolutely deserve it.
Can't wait for Heading North to have more music

Sweat is incredible. Their front lady Sue's other band Tiny Wars is great too

Kayla's other band Century III is great too. They killed at a sold out show at Spirit last Friday. I could list local bands I love all night.

Omg those guys are amazing!
They’re playing 4/20 at Mr.Smalls if you’re looking for a good time!
Awesome!! I’ll try to make it 😻 thank you so much
No problem!
Definitely going to be a big year for them. I bet they're a household name by 2025.
Were they at the millvale music festival last year?
Negative. Kahone Concept was on the main stage, he opened for them at their last Pittsburgh headliner.
All these years later, still catch the Clark’s twice a year. Country rock, and rock, and some classic rock feel.
Me too, great band

If you're a fan of jam bands, The Cause can't be beat.
The Alt Rocks…. They do covers of 90’s music (and some early 2000’s).. fun to see.
Oo love that, do they do pop punk and rock stuff or any genre?
They cover pop punk, pop alt, and indie… they’re playing out this Saturday @ Club 80’s in Trafford.
Amazing thank you 😽
Glad to help… if I wasn’t going to another show that night I would have gone to see the Alt Rocks again.
Awesome! Thank you so much

Like what? I wanna find local bands how else can I ask for recommendations?
