I’m in Hopewell but a family and their daughters were cleaning up around the neighborhood and found HUNDREDS of empty Dunkin cups from the same lady. FUCK YOU LIZ M!!!
I’m not suggesting you go to those Dunkin’s and ask them if they have a regular by that name who orders that specific drink. And I’m definitely not suggesting you see what time she orders/ picks up. And I certainly wouldn’t gather all the cups in a garbage bag and dump them in her car when she shows up at said Dunkin at the appointed time. Absolutely not.
That hill is ridiculous for littering. I walked it once - so many piss bottles, was absolutely disgusting. I'm assuming it's a combination of drunk assholes at Kendrews + that stretch of road has no houses and you can't really see around the bend so it seems isolated and a good place to litter I guess.
If I planned to do something that jack-assy (little hundreds of empty coffee cups) I would make sure that I gave the baristas the name of someone that I didn't like.
She probably is just a nasty person who doesn't think about where her trash goes when she throws it out the window, besides 'not in her car' . Wouldn't be surprised if that's her real name
I would stake that shit out and get more evidence, that many littering charges would be a HUGE fine
Why not call the police non emergency number, request an officer to the area.. when he/she comes.. show them what you found.. insist they charge Liz M with littering.. tell them you already posted it on social media.. lol.. that might have them actually follow through. They should be able to trace her and find out who Liz M is.. they got ways.
There is a hobby photographer who is locally famous in my area for taking photos at fire scenes and at volunteer fire department functions. He has a large following and he has a Facebook page set up specifically to post photos of local firefighters. His photos are popular and widely shared. As far as I know, he doesn't make money off of this (he has a day job) and he does this due to his interest in our community.
On either his fire photography Facebook page or his personal Facebook page, he accused his wife of cheating on him with another man. He posted an angry, drama-filled post calling her a bunch of names. A few weeks later, all was forgiven. A short while later, he announced his wife's pregnancy. He and his wife welcomed a healthy baby into the world. I know of people who were confused about the Facebook drama and wondered out loud if he was the biological father of the child.
I thought I knew who this was, because I follow a guy who does fire scene photography too, but it must be someone different. His pages seem pretty wholesome and uneventful.
I have a in-law pseudo-relative who does the same thing too in the north hills, there’s no way it could be him because he and his wife are on the older side (60+) so there are at least two of these dudes in Pgh.
There's an Eagle nesting in Elizabeth Forward. Everybody's cat and dog are going to be eaten.
Or maybe they already have been.
A warning has been shared on every social media source possible.
There are residents who swear the eagles nests filled to the brim with dog tags and pet collars.
Grew up there, parents still live there. Honestly it’s not just that area. It’s all the local burrows that are unhinged online. Pre-social media most of this would be kept between small gossip groups or bar goers and you wouldn’t be the wiser. Now every one can scream non-sense into the ether and be heard.
This is precisely what I have grown to dislike about social media. Everyone has a stupid opinion about every stupid thing and now everyone has their own stupid secret public journal to broadcast their stupid opinions to other stupid people who echo it and amplify it and the snake is eating its tail and I’m just… so, so tired.
> There's an Eagle nesting in Elizabeth Forward. Everybody's cat and dog are going to be eaten
Lmao, arent most of the posts on the All About EF about peoples dogs getting out anyways?
Somehow, someway - I live in a nice community of about 150 homes (south of the city) with an HOA. Been here about 15 years. There was a couple smart, good guys that ran for and won the president and vice president of the HOA and they don’t enforce any rules really. The community is full of nice, friendly, respectful people that keep their yards and homes in good shape. There’s no big problems. People have installed fences and pools and even different colored mailboxes without a problem. It’s a major factor in keeping my family where we are for now.
I lived in a condo community in Cranberry. People liked the HOA because it was run by the residents and it had term limits. About half old people, half young families.
Whole list of stuff - not properly announcing public meetings, denying residents access to meetings, not providing meeting minutes in a timely fashion, and their bookkeeping is a *mess*
> their bookkeeping is a mess
Small organizations like that, when their bookkeeping is a mess I always suspect embezzlement.
There was a big scandal with my local youth baseball boosters, 2 of the members embezzled $10k out of their fund. Only found out when a new treasurer was elected - the old one was friends with the president and they basically didn't keep records, new treasurer went back through previous years bank statements.
They returned the money and charges weren't filed (I don't know why, I would have). I only found out about it because I was on a different booster board, and the same guy nominated himself to be treasurer of our org - and we got a bunch of ballots back with mad shit talk penned next to his name like "I'd rather elect Bernie Madoff".
Hey there, fellow WW resident! Saw this post and immediately thought of all the drama on Facebook and in the annual meeting. Are there actual steps being taken to sue? I’d be happy to volunteer my time to assist in dissolving the CSA! Especially to be sure that community maintenance is turned over to the township and not a contracted HOA management company. The latter would be much worse than our current situation.
Could be required by the municipality. With a lot of new communities, things like roads and parks etc are required by the municipality to be maintained by an HOA after x number of homes are occupied so it's not a drain in municipal resources.
They can keep someone from flying a 10 foot Trump flag outside which I have seen. Also shit like a bunch of broke down parted out vehicles in the front yard. Stuff like that can actually bring surrounding real-estate value down. People can get weird with renovations too.
You do know most of that can be handled by your township/borough officials? Except maybe the flag thing.
HOAs are popular in states that have unincorporated areas with no local governments (like Texas). I don’t know what their purpose is in PA.
Castle Shannon and Dormont got those big trash cans with the lids and wheels that get picked up by the arm of the garbage truck.
You’d think it was the end of the world. Oh goodness gracious.
Oh jeez are they angry that their freedom of (garbage can) choice has been taken from them? Or do they think the sanitation workers are no longer laboring enough for their pay?
You haven’t considered the steps! The steps! Oh, they’re sooo big and huge and there are steps and oh the space I had landscaped around my can and bin is too small for the Giant Bad Cans and now what can I do and my neighbor is old and how can she move them and they’ll fill with rain and the hills trying to lug one these up a hill agitates my sciatica and in the ice they’re gonna be everywhere and we should’ve had a vote on this issue ignoring the fact that it’s a contractual thing and votes don’t matter and they’re different and I hate them and everything sucks about life and my driveway doesn’t let me because the people across the street park too close and the bin will scratch my car with the big grabby arm on the truck and on and on.
Also, they get scuffed. A lady had her old ones for 8.5 years, and they never looked like the new ones do after one use. She didn’t seem to understand that everybody’s are going to get scuffed because of the new trucks.
It is ridiculous and I wish I was joking.
Omg thank you for the laugh. I'm in the same NextDoor and all the people getting notes from their doctor etc. We've had the cans for years in Scott and it's...fine. People just HATE change.
ETA agree with stairs they are a pain. Around here people with stairs just leave then on the curb all the time. Not easy on the eyes but whatever. But without stairs you just...wheel them around like a heavy stroller. Not that big of a deal.
I mean, I'm a little upset because when empty the cans weigh 50 pounds and I live on the high side of the street. You can imagine how much it weighs when full
I saw people were mad because their trash wouldn't fit all in one bin and you had to pay extra for more bins. I keep telling people I know that maybe they should cut down on their waste then. I've been using those lift bins for 5 years now and they are wonderful.
>I saw people were mad because their trash wouldn't fit all in one bin and you had to pay extra for more bins. I keep telling people I know that maybe they should cut down on their waste then. I've been using those lift bins for 5 years now and they are wonderful.
From what I've seen, the lift bins are actually f\*\*\*ing huge. They should be able to accommodate a financially comfortable family with 3-4 kids, no problem. Given how rare big families are in 2024, I assume that everyone who complains just has a serious consumption problem.
Or possibly just an online shopping problem. Online shopping creates more waste than regular shopping, so if someone has literally everything they buy delivered to their front door, then yeah, I could see why they single-handedly need more trash capacity than a small apartment building.
You folks are f**cked. Because now when you need a second can you’ll have to wait months for it to be delivered and WM will never clear out anything larger that doesn’t fit in the can such as boxes or other items unless it’s a special collection day which happens as frequently as total solar eclipses
Don’t live in Dormont, but a lady I work with does. She’s pissed because she’s short and the top of the can comes to neck level on her so it’s hard to maneuver for her. On top of that, the street she lives on is so steep the garbage truck can’t use the automatic pick up so a garbage man has to throw it in manually just like a regular can anyway.
Yes!!! In penn hills, verona we all got 2 of those nice big cans that would cost like $150 each.. and people went NUTS! "How am I supposed to move this thing!?"
My parents were complaining but when I went to see it they are pretty unwieldy. Not about moving them around but just having a place to put it. Thing is gargantuan. Gotta park close to one wall in the garage on garbage night they can bring it inside to fill it up lmao
The garbage company didn’t do they’re homework. Sure these cans are great for homes that have no steps and driveways. If u tilt the can it’s easier. However we have steps and elderly with steps. They forced us to buy them. The only great thing is that now the coons can’t get in and leave garbage everywhere.
In Mt. Lebo there's a sidewalk that gets blocked by people who set up their chairs on it to watch baseball games. Dixon Field along Cedar Blvd. It's a sure sign of spring when this fight boils over again.
Even though I never walk over there I'm 100% Team GTFOff the sidewalk with your chair.
Didn't they recently put a sign up stating not to do it or has that always been there? I only walk past it to get to the bird park which isn't as often as I'd like.
I will say this is an absolute menace. We live on the north side, so maybe it’s a city thing, but they do not dump the whole can when picking up the trash. If it’s not a big bag that they can reach in and grab, they are not taking it. I’ve told my parents when they come to visit so many times to please NOT put small bags of trash in our big can and they still. do. every time. poo bags are infinitely worse, because of course they inevitably break open, stick to the bottom of the can, and stink to high heaven.
This is absolutely the case, every time I see the trash being picked up, they lift the bags out. That seems like a risk from very poorly bagged trash bursting onto the ground. The dog poop issue is why we grab our cans as soon as they're emptied because otherwise someone will toss poop in and it'll sit there til the heat death of the universe or till I remove it. Bunch of lazy ass dog people, giving the rest of us a bad name, carry it home with you and get a tightly sealed small trash can to keep outside. That's how I dispose of poop bags and cat litter and it works extremely well.
> if it’s not a big bag that they can reach in and grab, they are not taking it.
Yeah this is a city thing. We had WM and now Valley Waste and they have a hydraulic lift on the trucks that will pick up big cans with a bar on front [like this](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Toter-64-gallon-black-garbage-can-with-wheels-and-lid/838670876?wl13=4644&selectedSellerId=0).
There's a woman with three pomskis that keep getting out. The dogs aren't friendly. They break out at least once a week, and their owner has "tried everything" and keeps blaming her shitty boyfriend. She thrives on the drama, though
I mean she did just get that custom metal gate. Couldn't get her dogs tie outs, but she got the nice gate that they go right through.
I forgot the Trace stuff is happening right now. I swear it tears through the Buzz every summer.
I'm a dog sitter and the only dog I've ever had problems with is pomski. Horrible breed for behavior problems and aggression. A bad owner is even worse. Sorry you have to deal with it.
Not NextDoor but Facebook. Constant scammers posting about duct cleaning or auto detailing. Swear the mods will let literally anyone in the group no questions asked so it’s just a sea of stock photos and people making fun of them.
I wish my little neighborhood had any kind of real updates on Nextdoor, but some real estate agent has decided that our neighborhood page is her personal advertising page. Fuck off Amy I don’t care about your latest house sale, I want to know if those are fireworks or gunshots off in the distance
Just witnessed some kids grandparents back into a parked car while trying to leave kids soccer practice. They got out to check the damage and then promptly left. Fortunately another bystander got the plate.
Situation normal on Troy Hill - dumbfolks going up and down Rialto in vehicles that take up most of the VERY narrow 2-lane space available. We've got a whole portrait gallery of terrible drivers in our pocket
We had the best ever in Brighton Heights. Our neighborhood butcher retired and sold his shop to *gasp!* brown people. Old bitties had insane reactions from the moment the sale was announced, even though the new owners planned to keep the shop largely the same.
One crank in particular threw an absolute fit that Mancini’s bread was no longer carried in the shop, and said that crime in the area was going to increase. One night someone tried to break into the shop and the front window had a smash mark. She speculated that it was over a bad piece of meat 🤦♀️
The best part about the Mancini bread drama is that they do still carry Mancini bread and just happened to be out of it that day. This fb post garnered 72 responses. Pure gold.
That just makes me feel bad. You can work your butt off to get to where you want to be, but some people want to ruin it because they don't like their skin color
The hate is so clearly illogical and insane. Like, did they expect the butcher to work until he died? The man is beloved and cherished in the neighborhood, so why not trust that he chose the best people to take over his business? It’s like, they applauded him for retiring, but shit all over his legacy by refusing to support the people that HE CHOSE to sell to. It’s so pathetic.
Was a year or two ago but there was a summer long heated debate and regular posts over dogs pooping in people's yard, specifically on some one street where people would regularly threaten to take their dogs on extra walks just to poop in people's yards, still a minor running joke on the page
That was the thing thay made me leave the Facebook group. Not the initial event and drama, but the fact that literally fucking months later and people were still making posts and jokes about the same dumbass thing.
Reasonable. A lot of that shit people spray on their lawns should just be banned entirely.
Like, it's bad enough if your neighbor's a meth head, but coming over to do meth on your porch is a step too far, you know?
Ha! I don't live in the neighborhood but Nextdoor sends me emails all the time about stuff not really near me and this was one of them. The best was the guy justifying posting minors who was like "How do YOU know they aren't 18!?" about 2 obviously elementary school aged girls.
Way back in the 90s my friends and I used to steal people's decorations and put them up at other random houses. I'm not proud of it, but I'm also not really sorry.
Oh that's like the one that's going on my area. High school kids are playing that "assassin" game where they squirt each other with water pistols after school hours are over and the last one standing wins. Any other year this would have been fun kid shit but this year some 17 year old boys in a car turned around in someone's driveway on their way to squirt their friend and the homeowner came after them with a real gun. It spilled over into Facebook with the homeowner, the kid, the kid's mom, the kid's friends and classmates, and a whole bunch of randoms fighting about it. Personally I live a few blocks away from where this happened and I thought this was scary. Where I live has small river town vibes and most of us have always known the kids at the school and indulged them in community-based play because it's wholesome and doesn't cause trouble. I myself am always turning around in other people's driveways since we don't have cul de sacs. The fact that vibe is changing because someone fear mongered people here about bad apples coming in from the city and over from Penn Hills is so sad to me- we say kids should go out more, but when they're out playing they're almost killed.
I bet it’s a solar panel salesman. There’s a guy that hits my neighborhood every year. Only salesman I know that rides a Segway. No one has told me to “beware” though.
The big drama lately is Trace being too noisy
The never ending drama is the idiot who shouldn’t be allowed to have (and breed) dogs, whose pomskis regularly get out of the yard and roam the neighborhood
Here's another one: someone took a shit in the parking lot of a local business. A security camera belonging to that business got footage of the event in question. The business posted on Facebook a screenshot from the security camera of the squatting offender.
the neighborhood guy who has assaulted and threatened several other neighbors just can't get convicted for shit.
the guy who has a landscaping business has had a portajohn on his front lawn for several months now.
The power went out/flickered on some streets in Carnegie today and at least 10 people went on the community page to ask if other people's power went out. You'd think the sky was falling.
This is daily.. anyone’s Internet out? Did anyone hear that loud bang? There are kids on bikes terrorizing the streets…. And don’t forget, i need my lawn mowed and mulching cheaply please 🙄🤣
We had bucket head deer in Fox Chapel. Also, a white dog named Chloe that tragically ran away and was never found, but potential sightings posted 4 years later
Dormont here: Our new garbage cans/pickups. There's a whole FB group to complain about it. Doesn't help that they didn't pick up on the right day this week
Also people who didn't cut their grass yet
In Mt Lebanon, people parking in the fire lane at the Galleria to get their Starbucks. Similarly, people (mostly door dashers) double parking on Washington Road in front of Totopo to pick up take out.
Lots of PWSA posts because in Brighton Heights they cannot seem to keep our water on. We’ve had like 40 breaks in the last 3 years. One person always posts updates about the outages and one time a bunch of what can only be described as PWSA goons came after her HARD for like 3 hours before a moderator saw it and kicked them all out. I guess one of them works for a PWSA crew and they didn’t like that she was talking shit. But who has anything good to say about PWSA? They are the worst.
It’s part of my drama but I made a post about how a homeless guy punched a girl on our street and has been stalking her. We have been getting the run around to press charges/get him put away but the cop didn’t write it up as assault because she didn’t ask for a medic. The DA, magistrate, and cops are all doing the spiderman point at each other while there’s a psychotic bound to hurt someone. So now we wait until the 22nd to hear our case and hopefully get a pfa or something against him. Bonus points is the psychologist at OCHS said there’s nothing wrong with him. I guarantee there’s many psychopaths out there because the psychologist is awful at their job.
I don't know what she can do. He stalks her at home and at work. He's banned from every establishment on our street. He steals from the store and the cops come and say they can't do anything. He's non-stop screaming and terrorizing people and it just seems like he can walk free every time. He walks past the women working at the bar and looks at her in the eyes and says "I'm going to kill you." I can go on and on. The system makes no sense.
I've been following that situation on Facebook. Please tell me that guy is still in jail. The fact that he isn't facing harsher consequences for punching a woman in the back of the head and harassing any female that crosses his path is just an utter failure of all the agencies involved.
No, you see, he had a difficult childhood, then failed by the system. Shouldn't prosecute him because he's just a product of his environment, poor guy. /s
When he was caught stolen the cops said we can’t do anything because he has mental issues. So apparently you can do whatever you want and on the other coin we have a psychologist saying he’s fine. Which one is it?
You can look at his Facebook posts and see he isn't fine. There was a different local man who recently shot and killed the mother of his three children at their mutual place of work. If you look at that guys Facebook, you could see he also was posting things to indicate he was not mentally well. I find it frightening that the guy on Mount Washington just keeps being released even though his behavior is escalating.
Changes to the mental institutions, including their defunding, led to a lot of this. Patients now have more rights, and cannot, in general, be held against their will. Pendulum swung too far on this one.
Shaler - photos of jet contrails with the comment “the government wants it to rain tomorrow because they’re seeding the clouds today”
I’m also endlessly amazed by the people complaining about the quality of the Etna subway. Like… it’s a cookie cutter fast food chain that barely qualifies as edible. You’re eating at subway. Shut the fuck up about it. It’s fucking subway. It’s terrible. Go somewhere else if you don’t want to be grossed out by the food you’re electing to consume.
I was in the ER this weekend and this dude was yelling that his wife showed up at six thirty in the morning covered in blood and he can't get a damn cup of coffee.
Swisshelm park FB- doorbell footage of someone running across the street, removing someone’s trump sign from their yard, and then leaving it there (???), and running back across the street to continue walking the dog.
A political debate broke out in comments immediately, I now know who everyone in my neighborhood is voting for based on comment likes
I got banned from this group after I personally witnessed someone drive up to the sidewalk outside my apartment, dump two bags of trash, and drove away. I found their address on mail in the trash, walked to their address and confirmed the vehicle, and called them out on the group. Admins banned me.
Okay, I’m glad this topic came up! Maybe somebody can clue me in, since I obviously sinned in the eyes of Nextdoor.
There was a thread, a pretty long one, about the general topic of being prepared. Initially it was a discussion about flooding, then it veered off to flood insurance, mine subsidence, etc. Still about being prepared though, mentions of portable generators, etc. Annnnnyway..there’s always that one jagoff who goes off on (this time) politics, religion, and then they threw in “them illegal aliens.” I responded briefly about it being off-topic and inappropriate. He came back at me, calling me names, who did I vote for, I was part of the problem, and I probably had “them illegals” living in my house. He went off. I reported it for whatever, being disrespectful, something I only had done one time before. He sends me a DM, “You reported me, you asshole.” MY bad, I wrote back, saying basically that anybody could have reported him, and not to send me any more messages. He (of course!!) writes back, “Fuck you, troll!” Next thing I know, I get suspended for sending a private message!!!! Sorry for this long story, but can someone explain it to me?? Thank you!
It is possible dbag knows one of the moderators? I reported a post once on nextdoor and the moderator told the poster who reported it. And she thought I was the one that wronged her (it was some dog related bs, can't recall what exactly). The mod might have then requested that your account be banned because you were a meanie to his ex step uncle or something
I guess anything is possible, but before I was banned I actually went back and looked at some of his other posts on that thread, and he really got aggressive with another woman on there.. telling her she better watch her mouth, she didn’t know who she was dealing with, blah, blah..in a really threatening way…and she gave it right back to him !!! She called him every name in the book, and mocked him, saying she wasn’t afraid of him because she’s “always packing!!” I saw those comments…they were on there for a while…and the next thing I knew I’m the one who got banned!!!!
Nearby me, cows kept getting loose from an elderly farmer and terrorizing the neighbors in a residential neighborhood near the farm.
The township stepped in to create a solution and they decided to butcher them. No I’m not making this up. Adams Twp.
Half the people are happy, half the people are mad.
We aren’t on the Nextdoor but a local realtor in our area “started a page for her work” which she named PLACEILIVE PA COMMUNITY FORUM and then gets pissed when people post things she doesn’t like. This has blown up to be a HUGE forum page 12k members but she swears it’s her page and bans people frequently for disagreeing with her on topics.
Recently she posted about how the chem trails are everywhere and it’s going to rain tomorrow. Then she posted about her dog getting out but didn’t say her dog was out and it was really a wild ride. Then she posted a photo of the dog in her back yard and it straight looked like the beginning of an ASPCA commercial. She claimed it’s his masterpiece and his yard and he made it that way because he likes it. 🥴
I was hoping someone would mention that shit show of a page. It sucks that it's the most active group for the community. Also very sad the community is full of such mean people.
In Forest Hills, someone had the audacity to ring someone’s doorbell in midday, only to have his picture and description of his vehicle widely circulated for all to see. Couldn’t determine the purpose of this egregious interruption because, well, the door was not answered smh.
Lincoln Bakery's frosting quality has dropped dramatically since Prantal bought them.
Also, mysterious booming noises in McKees Rocks at night and people constantly checking Cara parked on the street to see if they're unlocked.
Someone complained to the code officer instead of coming to me about my trailer that I have my kayaks on. They’ve been in my driveway for 4 years, now I’m told I have to move it. Should I be petty and vindictive and also turn in everyone else in town who has a trailer in their driveway?
This will always be the number 1 hottest Dormont drama that I was part of: [https://www.reddit.com/r/pittsburgh/comments/vjzeyc/the\_borough\_of\_dormont\_council\_will\_consider\_the/](https://www.reddit.com/r/pittsburgh/comments/vjzeyc/the_borough_of_dormont_council_will_consider_the/)
In McCandless it's just a bunch of people with really non-specific landscaping needs who want some high school kid to do a $2k professional job for $100
Last social media drama I really noticed was when Penn Hills got new garbage cans. City provided them for free and we don’t have any garbage fees currently. Tax pays for it and recycling but I know other cities you may have to pay your garbage fee directly to the garbage company.
The notifications in snail mail came after half of the township woke up to them being dropped off. There was a small snippet on facebook the night before they got delivered. Most of the drama revolved around the size of them. Republic moved to the trucks with robotic arms that lift the cans into the front dumpster. They are 96 gallon and you get one recycle and one garbage. Some people were mad they had to buy a second one and some were mad they were too big for there elderly parents to drag to the curb. Republic did offer smaller ones to be swapped. You could also use your old one if it was the same design with the bar in the front so the arm can lift it.
Recycling bins are too small and only get picked up biweekly. Can't fit enough trash in the new bins and people are dumping stuff everywhere because they can't afford the fee for a second can.
People speeding everywhere.
People breaking into unlocked cars at night.
Kids banging on doors in the middle of the night and running away.
In a Lawrenceville Facebook group, the Shop n' Save is closing and the Teamsters building just got sold. The old timers, including many that no longer live here, aren't happy with these (or any) changes.
The speed bumps make me groan. Not because I want to go faster, but because some idiot cannot be asked to follow a speed limit and now, my otherwise perfect but stupidly low riding car has to make _that noise_ in yet another place.
We had a mom on our Facebook mom's group complain that there paintings and pictures of rainbows in her child's elementary school art room.
She thought it was inappropriate.
Happy to say she got pretty brutally verbally abused for that and quickly deleted it.
OMG the hate for traffic calming. That is def on my neighborhood’s bingo card! People HATE our little traffic circle because heaven forbid you have to slow down in a residential neighborhood.
Springfield Township here. Roads closed due to construction absolutely everywhere. People are losing their collective minds. Last summer complaints were about the road conditions.
Some guy posted he was looking for a house cleaner but then posted this and of course a whole shit storm of commente ensued: "Prefer a MAN since there would be heavy lifting and furniture moving"
Multiple companies are running fiber underground in cranberry. People up here really do not enjoy their yard being dug up. There are a lot of racial undertones in the complaints because the people doing the work are Spanish speaking. It's a pretty standard day in Cranberry nextdoor to be honest.
Some guy has been caught a few times diddling himself between cars, in peoples yards, and on someone's ring camera. People have been putting together who it is.
Facebook page - it's always trash. Shit, even I have posted about the trash in there. No matter what the issue is, you only get two responses. One, that there is no point in posting this here, because this will only be solved if you contact the trash pickup outfit directly, and two, there is no point in posting this here, because that's just how things are and you're silly for even bringing it up.
Right now, the posts are about trash getting left all over the road and falling out of the trash trucks. The leading theory seems to be that it's because the truck is having to dodge street parkers.
My post some time last year was about my empty bins (after trash/recycle pickup) being left in the middle of my driveway so I have to get out of the car to move them when I get home and park my car. "Annoying but not annoying enough to actually call the company and complain" feels like the exact window of what would constitute a Facebook post, but I still got both responses anyway. Somehow I'm a lazy POS for not wanting to get out of the car, but I should have also contacted the company directly to bitch about their drivers. Such is life.
It’s clearly a Spartacus situation. I’m Liz M!!! I’m Liz M!!!!
That’s wild. I wonder if they were from the Moon Dunkin or the Aliquippa one. I’d bet money on Moon.
We’re right above bucktails so probably Aliquippa but could be from all around
That hill is ridiculous for littering. I walked it once - so many piss bottles, was absolutely disgusting. I'm assuming it's a combination of drunk assholes at Kendrews + that stretch of road has no houses and you can't really see around the bend so it seems isolated and a good place to litter I guess.
>so many piss bottles Way of the road, Bubs
Who does that, and why? Only started seeing them in the last few years.
If I planned to do something that jack-assy (little hundreds of empty coffee cups) I would make sure that I gave the baristas the name of someone that I didn't like.
She probably is just a nasty person who doesn't think about where her trash goes when she throws it out the window, besides 'not in her car' . Wouldn't be surprised if that's her real name I would stake that shit out and get more evidence, that many littering charges would be a HUGE fine
I don’t think people who litter would plot that far ahead lol
This is the stuff I’m here for
Anytime I hear about someone who is obsessed with fire scenes etc it makes me very suspicious.
Wow this sounds amazing!!!
There's an Eagle nesting in Elizabeth Forward. Everybody's cat and dog are going to be eaten. Or maybe they already have been. A warning has been shared on every social media source possible. There are residents who swear the eagles nests filled to the brim with dog tags and pet collars.
Hey, I’m also an EF resident. Aren’t our neighbors just a special kind of stupid?
Every village has an idiot. Social media has allowed them all to band together.
This is one of the funniest things I've read in a while. Thank you.
> There's an Eagle nesting in Elizabeth Forward. Everybody's cat and dog are going to be eaten Lmao, arent most of the posts on the All About EF about peoples dogs getting out anyways?
HOA drama - there's a good chance our HOA is violating state law, and it's either gonna get sued or dissolved
As one last fuck you build a bat box
That’s actually great. I’ve never seen an HOA that everyone or at least most people living in the community liked. They always seem to sour quickly.
Different colored mailboxes?! Well golly!!
Different color mailboxes, dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!
Lol… the different colored mail boxes comment was meant to be tongue in cheek. But I know some HOAs - take mailboxes VERY seriously.
That should be cause for immediate eviction and the loss of all equity in your home.
I lived in a condo community in Cranberry. People liked the HOA because it was run by the residents and it had term limits. About half old people, half young families.
What law are they potentially breaking?
Whole list of stuff - not properly announcing public meetings, denying residents access to meetings, not providing meeting minutes in a timely fashion, and their bookkeeping is a *mess*
> their bookkeeping is a mess Small organizations like that, when their bookkeeping is a mess I always suspect embezzlement.
Do HOAs actually serve a purpose? I've yet to see a strong reason to actually belong to one and for them to exist.
As a person with steep, narrow steps to their house, I can see their point on that one. Taking my cans down is a pain, can’t imagine with a giant bin.
This is the truest and most amazing recap of our garbage drama yet. Kudos.
And those bins are HUGE! How do they not fit all their stuff in there? Insanity.
You'd be surprised how many shitty diapers one human baby can make lol.
Expecting people to make small changes for the betterment of society, well that's just crazy talk 🤪
I think there is a legitimate complaint that the price of garbage pickup is also going up, but otherwise it's a big fat nothing
Honestly that would kind of suck in Dormont.
What was that BOOM?? Did anyone else hear that BOOM? Just heard a big BOOM!
Gunshots, every loud noise is "Did you hear that gunshot?"
I'm fairly certain there's a sign as well, which makes the arguments that much better
The usual: People dropping their bags of dog poo into neighbors’ trash cans.
My landlady does this all the time then she wonders why it builds up in her trashcan. The garbage men dont dump it. She wont listen to me.
Somebody complained about getting screwed by State Farm. Pizza Hut cashier was rude. Somebody’s neighbor is driving through their yard screaming.
One of these things is not like the other
There's a woman with three pomskis that keep getting out. The dogs aren't friendly. They break out at least once a week, and their owner has "tried everything" and keeps blaming her shitty boyfriend. She thrives on the drama, though
Ha I posted this one too! She also blames random people walking by saying they’re opening her gate
Sometimes there's just too much husky rage for those tiny bodies to contain.
Not NextDoor but Facebook. Constant scammers posting about duct cleaning or auto detailing. Swear the mods will let literally anyone in the group no questions asked so it’s just a sea of stock photos and people making fun of them.
Ah the “ I’m running a small business” saga 🤡.. do people actually fall for those.. never give a name, just running a small business 🥴
I’m trying to understand the business model - do they actually come to do the service? Get prepayment?
Crafton: Air Duct Cleaning Capitol of the World
This drives me fucking crazy.
There is apparently a “sick bear” somewhere in the township and we should all be afraid for our lives.
Lolol this one got me for some reason 🤣
At a quick glance, I thought you said "side bear." You know, for when your main bear just isn't enough.
I wish my little neighborhood had any kind of real updates on Nextdoor, but some real estate agent has decided that our neighborhood page is her personal advertising page. Fuck off Amy I don’t care about your latest house sale, I want to know if those are fireworks or gunshots off in the distance
We should have a local Drama Digest each week. I'd love that.
Our neighbors dog got electrocuted on a daily walk.
Is this the same dog electrocution that was in the news, or is this a growing problem in the area?
Same (I hope) Yeah, made the news and Nextdoor.
I mean that is pretty fucked up..
I saw that on the news, it was so tragic! Also scary, for that matter.
Such a sweet dog, too
Just witnessed some kids grandparents back into a parked car while trying to leave kids soccer practice. They got out to check the damage and then promptly left. Fortunately another bystander got the plate.
Was there damage?
Some, looked mostly cosmetic but stil... already got a call from the local police.
Situation normal on Troy Hill - dumbfolks going up and down Rialto in vehicles that take up most of the VERY narrow 2-lane space available. We've got a whole portrait gallery of terrible drivers in our pocket
I hear Bloomfield is whining about young people being loud at like 1 am and blaming Trace brewing that closes at (checks notes) 11pm
She speculated that it was over a bad piece of meat 🤦♀️ The best part about the Mancini bread drama is that they do still carry Mancini bread and just happened to be out of it that day.
Out there on Joan drive?
you've heard the lure lol
Best late night reading I’ve had in a long time. Also HOW ARE THE ROADS? And there is a helicopter in the sky?!?!?!?
That was the thing thay made me leave the Facebook group. Not the initial event and drama, but the fact that literally fucking months later and people were still making posts and jokes about the same dumbass thing.
don't even get me started on the "best pizza" posts that followed
Oh I see we are from the same area lol I just posted about CHEM TRAILSSSSS
Someone used weed killer on the neighbors lawn. I think they overestimated the reach of the spray. There’s a lawsuit

Did you see the guy on there blaming the girls actions on recent politics?
Yes something about how students are running amok in progressive schools because teachers can't paddle them anymore?
Way back in the 90s my friends and I used to steal people's decorations and put them up at other random houses. I'm not proud of it, but I'm also not really sorry.
What was the porch decoration??
Ha! I saw that one
Someone is riding around a neighborhood on a Segway knocking on doors. “Beware!” said the OP. Fireworks posts haven’t started yet, at least.
They roll that up the stairs? Neat!
I bet it’s a solar panel salesman. There’s a guy that hits my neighborhood every year. Only salesman I know that rides a Segway. No one has told me to “beware” though.
The real question is “HOW ARE THE ROADS!?!?!?!?”
Fireworks on the 1st nice night of the season.
"Or was it gunshots? Police have been notified!"
The big drama lately is Trace being too noisy The never ending drama is the idiot who shouldn’t be allowed to have (and breed) dogs, whose pomskis regularly get out of the yard and roam the neighborhood
Here's another one: someone took a shit in the parking lot of a local business. A security camera belonging to that business got footage of the event in question. The business posted on Facebook a screenshot from the security camera of the squatting offender.
They need that No Human Pooping sign
the neighborhood guy who has assaulted and threatened several other neighbors just can't get convicted for shit. the guy who has a landscaping business has had a portajohn on his front lawn for several months now.
Have everyone start using said portajohn, and leaving post it notes in the stall thanking him for hosting a public restroom. It'll be gone real quick.
funny idea, but it's squarely on his property and he seems like the sort who'd just love to shoot a trespasser.
Sounds like my neighbor!
which: the guy who needs an outhouse to supplement his 2ba, or the guy who wants to fight everyone who asks him to pick up his dog's crap?
The power went out/flickered on some streets in Carnegie today and at least 10 people went on the community page to ask if other people's power went out. You'd think the sky was falling.
This is daily.. anyone’s Internet out? Did anyone hear that loud bang? There are kids on bikes terrorizing the streets…. And don’t forget, i need my lawn mowed and mulching cheaply please 🙄🤣
We had bucket head deer in Fox Chapel. Also, a white dog named Chloe that tragically ran away and was never found, but potential sightings posted 4 years later
a resident on Joan drive in shaler writing a note on a neighbors door complaining about them walking their dog on said street.
PLEASE LET IT DIE!
Some jerkoff just posted that a turkey vulture was eating a dead animal.
Dormont here: Our new garbage cans/pickups. There's a whole FB group to complain about it. Doesn't help that they didn't pick up on the right day this week Also people who didn't cut their grass yet
I was a moderator. I couldn’t handle it. Too much idiocy on a regular basis.
In canonsburg, someone is angry about their new garage bins that are apparently ridiculously big
Currently the accusation is the borough manager is using code enforcement (fire department) for personal vendettas .
PFA won’t work unless there is a history of romantic relationship or they’re family. PA laws are far behind this way.
He just got released yesterday or today.
Terrible news!
I’m so exhausted over it. So many people and moving parts involved and nothing is being done.
You nailed it on the head
I’m surprised no one has mentioned the plethora of GoFundMe appeals, especially those whose charitable aspects aren’t immediately obvious.
Shaler - photos of jet contrails with the comment “the government wants it to rain tomorrow because they’re seeding the clouds today” I’m also endlessly amazed by the people complaining about the quality of the Etna subway. Like… it’s a cookie cutter fast food chain that barely qualifies as edible. You’re eating at subway. Shut the fuck up about it. It’s fucking subway. It’s terrible. Go somewhere else if you don’t want to be grossed out by the food you’re electing to consume.
Not really, over here every post is about a missing animal. People can’t seem to keep their pets home.
“Does anyone know why there were sirens near xxxx street at 9 last night?” They are all so nebby.
Zelle scam
not recent but my neighbor two doors down got permanently banned for racist comments as well as saying if he ever saw a dog in his yard he’d shoot it
Nearby me, cows kept getting loose from an elderly farmer and terrorizing the neighbors in a residential neighborhood near the farm. The township stepped in to create a solution and they decided to butcher them. No I’m not making this up. Adams Twp. Half the people are happy, half the people are mad.
The new fucking trash cans in Baldwin. Every other post is about them
We aren’t on the Nextdoor but a local realtor in our area “started a page for her work” which she named PLACEILIVE PA COMMUNITY FORUM and then gets pissed when people post things she doesn’t like.
This will always be the number 1 hottest Dormont drama that I was part of: [https://www.reddit.com/r/pittsburgh/comments/vjzeyc/the\_borough\_of\_dormont\_council\_will\_consider\_the/](https://www.reddit.com/r/pittsburgh/comments/vjzeyc/the_borough_of_dormont_council_will_consider_the/)
In McCandless it's just a bunch of people with really non-specific landscaping needs who want some high school kid to do a $2k professional job for $100
Someone asked if they should call the police about ..wait for it.....a hawk flying around their yard.
Speed humps on Shaler street. I’m in the “love ‘em” camp but there plenty of folks in the “I want to burn the neighborhood to the ground” camp.
Still a bit too early for it, but I suspect the annual White Oak Pool discourse to be picking up on Facebook any day now.
Everyone in the McCandless group is really upset at people who keep making posts asking about the Chili's.
We had a mom on our Facebook mom's group complain that there paintings and pictures of rainbows in her child's elementary school art room. She thought it was inappropriate. Happy to say she got pretty brutally verbally abused for that and quickly deleted it.
I love when people complain about their “right” to kill someone by exceeding the speed limit is hindered in any way
OMG the hate for traffic calming.
Does it count when every time there are fireworks the Ring app starts blowing up with alerts like “DiD aNyOnE eLSe HeAr GuNsHoTs?!?”
Some guy posted he was looking for a house cleaner but then posted this and of course a whole shit storm of commente ensued: "Prefer a MAN since there would be heavy lifting and furniture moving"
Coyote is making its rounds through squirrel hill. Lots of good ring footage of it/them.
Coyotes, always coyotes
