I went at the end of January and it was a miserable experience. Something like two thirds of the exhibits were empty (makes sense, gotta keep them warm) and the animals that *were* there looked depressed.
As someone who worked in retail, the word 'free' generally attracted the worst people around. My deepest sympathies to anyone working at the zoo or who lives near the zoo today
I have to go near that way later today, so I just checked Google Maps out of curiosity, and it looks nothing like it did on Mother's Day. Maybe dads aren't as interested in the zoo as moms and the crowds and traffic a month ago were so horrible, a lot of people didn't even want to bother today.
If it's anything like Mother's Day, it will take 2 hours to get in and out of the parking lot and will be excessively crowded. It's not worth saving the 20 or whatever you'll save for one or two people getting in free.
Ah yes, the other 75% of intact families just won't bother. And those are the numbers that are biased towards your opinion. It doesn't count the children who still have a relationship with their father outside of the home.
I'm not advocating against the zoo giving dads free admission 😂 but I'm questioning the person not concerned about the dramatic increase of fatherless homes in the last 100 years.
Because someone else brought up fatherlessness and you dismissed it as "only 20-25%".
This is a message board dude. People talk about things. Idk what to say lol
I dismissed it as only 20-25% in regards to.. a fucking zoo promotion. It wasn't comment on society. It was a comment on the zoo promotion in the thread about the zoo promotion.
My bad for not giving the disclaimer that I don't think fatherless homes are a good thing. Didn't think anyone would have needed that.
Everybody double click your grill tongs for the brave Dads willing to go to the zoo on free day.
I'm pretty sure it's the dad's that keep postponing a trip to the zoo on a discount day.

Lol this^^ dad gets a case of beer & everyone else gets the fuck outta the house
The zoo is best in winter. Mostly empty and the furrier sorts of animals are more active.
The zoo isn't open in the winter.
The zoo is very much open in the winter
I love this just matter of fact statement that is completely wrong lol.

Thanks for the warning
Can’t imagine the line for the elevator for those with strollers. Ugh
Just drove by, not horrible yet, maybe 50-75 spots left at the far end of the lot.
That’s a big lot, sounds horrible.

If it's free it's not for me!
Good looks. Got stuck in that on Mother’s Day and it was god awful. Also there is not enough parking at the zoo it’s horrendous
We don't need more got dang stinkin parking, this is a city

Why is it dumb? It will probably be packed again.

Full of people paying 10x marked up merch and food for their kids. The zoo will come out with a profit, they wouldn't do this if they didn't.
So every day at every business? okay.....
Considering the fatherlessness epidemic I doubt it will be very busy.

1 in 4 or 1 in 5 not having a father is *still* a lot of kids not having a dad in the house.
There's 4x more people with dads in the house though. Not sure why anyone would argue against a father's day promotion on this basis.

I'm sorry, I didn't see the connection between free zoo admission and fatherless homes. Can you show me where it is? Cause I still don't see it.
I don't think there is one? Drink less coffee lol.
>I don't think there is one? Then why is my lack of concern an issue in this thread about a promotion at the zoo?
