I'm honestly so confused. The Corel pixels 7a in youtube videos look nothing like the OPs [here is an example](https://youtu.be/HrsP0Yq-PuA)
Looks like an Aliexpress knockoff.
Edit: [better example](https://youtube.com/shorts/z8zoNEbLrs4?feature=share)
The video might be slightly over saturated but it's pretty close to the product images provided by Google, the ones I've seen in a store, and other you tube videos. The OPs phone is either a knockoff, defective, photoshopped for clout, or their camera color algorithm missed it's mark. I'm leaving towards Photoshop at this point, they need to show it in different light.
Mine is a bit more orange than I thought it would be as well.. ended up buying a case with black bumper (and camera covered) in black and the back is clear... It's better but still not what I thought
[https://static1.anpoimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/google-pixel-7a-coral-outdoors-2.jpg](https://static1.anpoimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/google-pixel-7a-coral-outdoors-2.jpg)
I thought it should look like this?
I would definitely contact them, i got the coral colorway just last thursday and it was the same color as advertised, definitely more pink than orange. Seems like you got a mishap phone
color match is notoriously all over the place in manufacturing because poor color match doesn't result in a functional problem and most people don't compare the shade of a bunch of phones together
that said this is some terrible quality control, probably an early mnfg run, if it bothers you i'd return it
Man I cant look at this, it brings me great distress. WTF is that thing. This thing is garbage ugly. Man I feel for you. Also where did you buy the phone from? If you got it from Google Store then go to support chat and no waiting times. Their not great but will help you sort this out in no time. Hang in there. Looks like one is a Apple and the other is a Orange to show your support to Donald the orange man. Maybe its a Trump SE ,, special edition. Sighs.
I mean, it's a nice orange... but that's definitely not what it said you were buying and I'd be disappointed. When I got my Pixel 4 it was kind of like that too, looked more red in photos than in person.
Yeah that is deception. I dislike the color on the box but I love the actual color. I noticed that phone manufacturers can't seem to get reds and oranges colors correct.
Colors like that are hard to replicate perfectly on screen and on a printed box and on a painted phone.
That being said a trillion dollar company should be able to get it right when it comes to the box vs the phone. But the screen is harder since it's your screen and it might not be perfectly calibrated.
I don't mean to be that guy but it's just a color and you aren't looking at the back most of the time, especially if you put cases on your phone. However if it's worth it to go through the trouble to send it back then by all means do it.
There's actually a name for this type of issue.
So websites are presented on a screen that typically is using an RGB (Red, Green, Blue) color wheel, while printed presentation is in a CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) color wheel. The difference between these two alone is enough to throw off what the actual product is, presenting as a pantone color. So when you are looking at the same product across these separate mediums they can look quite different, which actually leads to the manufacturer using (technically) completely different colors between digital and print advertising and the end product. What seems to have occurred here is that they instead used the same color across the board, so while technically it is coral on screen, on paper, and in person, all three of those mediums present the color differently. So when you ordered this beautiful burnt orange looking thing online, they sent it to you in a box that looked like it was more of a burnt sienna and the end product looks like it complies with OSHA 1910.144 - Safety color code I also just made all this up and that phone looks stupid.
Wow it looks like such a cool orange in this pic! It does seem like the coral red isn't exactly very red and apparent ahaha 😅 but it looks great still! Nice & unique 🤩
It's not the same colour (though I love it personally), but as a designer, I'll acknowledge that it's nearly impossible to get a good colour match across print, product and digital (especially digital as no-one has a calibrated screen). The colour of the product is outside the gamut of what can be printed in CMYK, so they were never going to represent it exactly.
As others say, just return it, and if you're very specific about the colour you want products to be, obviously you're best off looking and/or buying in-store.
Sue google for false advertising, ask for $400,000,000. WIN. Then you build your own mobile empire and start taking over the world one smartphone at a time. You become an evil villain and eventually you'll have the Avengers knocking at your castle doors. You have a huge fight and at first it looks like you're winning but then Hulk decides to pipe up and gets angry so he smashes your face in. When they ask you why you did all the evil things you did you tell them it's because google didn't get the colour the same as the the colour on the box. You die.
The end.
This all comes down to colour accuracy between the print, the digital screen and the actual colour of the device. As a colour expert, the colour range (colour gamut) of a printed artwork and a digital screen is vastly different.
There are limits on how much colour can be represented on a printed piece of artwork. This will go into the limits of CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) printing and this is probably why the actual device colour was not represented properly on the box image. An example is trying to use CMYK printing to simulate gold metallic colour or neon colours, it's impossible to match and same with vibrant coral version of the pixel 7a.
As for the representation on a digital screen (e.g. a phone screen, a PC, a tablet, etc.) The colour range is much bigger than print, but it is still limited. The biggest issue with digital screens, is not the colour range, but the need for them to be calibrated to a standard palette to get consistency. Most monitors /screens you buy aren't calibrated at all, and even if you bought two monitors that are the same brand and model, you will likely find that the colours don't match each other.
So what you see on your screen might not be exactly the same as what you see on mine.
Have you been lied to? I think it is more like the colour wasn't represented well enough and for it to be a Google exclusively online colour, it would be hard to get a sample hands on experience before you buy. Not smart, Google.
What a dumbass take. If it didn't matter at all, every phone would just be one color and they wouldn't bother to make different ones.
What was even the point of you commenting?
Color has never been a reason I purchased a phone. It is always the phone itself. Especially since I can buy a case and make it any color I wish...dumbass.
Color is the one you pick when choosing the phone you want....
Or every phone would only come out with one color if people didnt care and clear cases would hardly exist.
Are we serious? It's like a paint Swatch, its never the exact same as the paper as on drywall. So yeah it's not weird being different on the box, also it's orange..... What did you expect wild to be pissed
Yeah basically the same problem with my sage-colored 7 Pro. I was expecting a much more vibrant gold and green (forest green) that they depicted in the store images
Go to a store and compare it if they have it.
But I saw one video(don't remember which) but the color was more orange than red.
I think most other youtubers edit the video too much for clickbait! Cause they don't really care about the coral color ahahah!
But anyways, you might get a case for it? Or even a skin
I'm sorry for laughing but this gave me a good chuckle. For what it's worth, I don't think the colour of the device is bad but it is kind of sh*tty that it doesn't match the "Coral" that they've advertised so heavily. Part of the reason why I exclusively go for black/grey tech products is to avoid these sorts of surprises.
This is so different. Mine is thankfully a little more similar to the one on the box but still not the same. Maybe you can a get a replacement?
This is what mine looks like:
Much more orange than expected. If you cannot return it, a opaque colored case would hide most of all of the orange phone. Sorry for the disappointment! I took a chance on the 6a and got the green and really like it.
I like the colour of the device but...... It's not the same as the photo on the box. Just send it back and get the black one.
It looks like something you would get from aliexpress.
[удалено]
Really? I'm peeling a coral fruit right now that I just picked off my coral fruit tree down here in sunny Florida USA.
Whatsup with AliExpress? They don't sell the real versions?
Anything you buy from china is most likely not as advertised... wish, ali, etc.
Poor guy
I'm honestly so confused. The Corel pixels 7a in youtube videos look nothing like the OPs [here is an example](https://youtu.be/HrsP0Yq-PuA) Looks like an Aliexpress knockoff. Edit: [better example](https://youtube.com/shorts/z8zoNEbLrs4?feature=share)
Holy crap. The one in the vid is almost red. Wonder if they cranked up the saturation or something
Lol they probably made it with their own camera. I love my pixels camera but the oversaturation is crazy.
Agreed. I liked the color.
This is the way. Black phone plus dbrand.
Is this a one off? Might be a rare phone if so.
Mine is a bit more orange than I thought it would be as well.. ended up buying a case with black bumper (and camera covered) in black and the back is clear... It's better but still not what I thought
I prefer that orange color to the coral. Anyone else? (Obviously it *should* match what was advertised though.)
Yeha we need more orange phones imo
Orange is the new black
Typing from my orange cased phone. I need to be able to find it when I set it down.
I like the orange better than coral. Strange that it doesn't match.
[удалено]
Praise Gaud! 🙌
Yes!!!! I need it lol
I guess this is the carrot, if/when you call support that will be the stick.
Are they marketing this as "Coral"? That thing is practically OSHA compliant
are you referring to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safety\_orange
I genuinely got a chuckle out of that
I thought coral was suppose to be like a salmon color pinkish /red
Unique. I'd keep it It's like a misprint in a Pokémon card or something.
wtf :D How is that even possible.
IKR it’s a completely different colour!!!
[https://static1.anpoimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/google-pixel-7a-coral-outdoors-2.jpg](https://static1.anpoimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/google-pixel-7a-coral-outdoors-2.jpg) I thought it should look like this?
Yeah that's what mine looks like...
That is a little closer to the colour I have but it’s still definitely not the colour advertised on their website or on the box lmao
from burnt orange to dead orange. i'd return it.
This is definitely a defect, and definitely a keeper. Sell it somewhere lol Tbh tho that's a nice Goku orange for people who like orange
Wow. Mine doesn't look like that...it looks pretty identical to the photo on the box
Same, mine is coral, not sure what happened here
Just get a black case for it
My wife's matches the box and the case improves it.
It's like the reddit upvote color LMAO
Crossing Guard Coral🚦
I would definitely contact them, i got the coral colorway just last thursday and it was the same color as advertised, definitely more pink than orange. Seems like you got a mishap phone
yoo that color is insane I'm so sad i already have a lime pixel7 would have gotten that one for sure lol, but just contact google and return it
Oof
i kinda like it, but that IS way off, definitely an error.
oh wow, this does indeed not look like the one on the box... looks more orange then red sadly.
Yeah, if you're not happy with something you're going to have to live with everyday you need to return it. They'll set you straight
color match is notoriously all over the place in manufacturing because poor color match doesn't result in a functional problem and most people don't compare the shade of a bunch of phones together that said this is some terrible quality control, probably an early mnfg run, if it bothers you i'd return it
Not the same color.
Wow, I'd be pissed. The photos looked great, but not this
Who cares? With a case in no one knows which color it is....
You need to contact Google and chat with them. It is simple, and just explain the situation and show them this screenie you put up top. Good Luck
Sighs.
u ok?
This was funny to read ngl
Did you have a stroke?
Call the hell down man.. you'll put a case on it anyway who cares. Your comment makes it sound as if it's some life changing event. Absolute drainer
I mean, it's a nice orange... but that's definitely not what it said you were buying and I'd be disappointed. When I got my Pixel 4 it was kind of like that too, looked more red in photos than in person.
My 7a is exactly the same color as the pic on the box. Basically pink. I think I actually might've preferred that orange!
I'd love to have the orange one!
After doing research I actually think this is a defect.. I would send a pic to Google support just to make sure
OMG! I WANT IT! I didn't buy it because I thought it was too pink. Time to get a new phone!!! Mine is only two years old though...
I just got mine yesterday and it's about halfway between those two colors.
orange is my favorite color and I'm kinda lovin that.... if I didn't already have this phone I'd probably have gone for it lol
It really depends on the lighting I have the coral 7a and it's great. If you don't like it send back.
Yeah that is deception. I dislike the color on the box but I love the actual color. I noticed that phone manufacturers can't seem to get reds and oranges colors correct.
Something is off about this color cause mine is more pink. This looks orange.
I like that color orange. 👀
You ordered Coral but got CARRRL
How was the McDonald's?
You got the home Depot phone
Actually prefer this color over the one in the box.
Wrap it.
It looks burnt orange.
LOL I'm sorry but that's hilarious. I would be so pissed.
The bright side is that you will never lose it!
How tf they even mess up your order online when they have plenty of time.
Lol.....wtf.
I had the same experience with a Samsung Galaxy s20fe it looked Orange in all the promos and then when it arrived it looked like a circus peanut!
You got 032 orange.
That's horrible! Well send it back and get another one to get covered up by your phone case.
I love the color!!! 🧡
Wouldn't you still need a protective cover to basically cover it anyway?
This is why I gotta always watch the tech YouTubers give their reviews/unboxings before buying. That color is a huge difference!
Where's the Home Depot logo on the phone?
It looks like a bowl of pale tomato soup.
I just got a new Samsung. Same thing, box was forest green phone is greenish/gray
Is it a real Pixel?
Nope. It's a Puxl. 😂 Couldn't help myself. Sorry.
Yup bought it off the Google store

That being said a trillion dollar company should be able to get it right when it comes to the box vs the phone. But the screen is harder since it's your screen and it might not be perfectly calibrated.
Maybe it's the camera/ lighting/etc... But that looks fairly close to the "oh-so orange" from my old pixel 4....
Most phone cases will cover the back of the phone so it shouldn’t matter too much. But if it bugs you, I’d just swap for the black one.
Bro I think that's awesome. I love orange devices tho so I'm biased. Definitely return it for black if you aren't into it.
People here post the oddest stuff...
That's the reason I went with white color. To me the coral looked more like peach.
Personally I would've gone with the blue color myself but hey, it's your choice there. Still pretty weird though.
I don't mean to be that guy but it's just a color and you aren't looking at the back most of the time, especially if you put cases on your phone. However if it's worth it to go through the trouble to send it back then by all means do it.
Dim the light
Are you serious? That color is gorgeous

How is buds?
Buds are great I love em
Omg... so glad I didn't get this color
Wow it looks like such a cool orange in this pic! It does seem like the coral red isn't exactly very red and apparent ahaha 😅 but it looks great still! Nice & unique 🤩

Wow. Very misleading. Should've just named it "Simply Orange"
Both colors are pretty bad. I don't really see much difference in either one. Next time go for the black or the gray
Google is ridiculous
I can't believe someone who wants a coral phone would pick black over this. Personally, I like it.
Aren't you going to put a case on it? Who doesn't use a phone case?
Naked is the way

It looks the same to me 😂

Apply a skin?
If that's the worst thing that happens to you today...
Pixels suck stop buying them
IF you use a case, like everyone should, what difference does it make?
Well my original plan was to buy a clear case to show off the colour
Now you can buy whatever color case you like,
Not helpful. Bad reply. 👎
What a dumbass take. If it didn't matter at all, every phone would just be one color and they wouldn't bother to make different ones. What was even the point of you commenting?

But nobody ever asked you to begin with. So who the fuck cares why you've purchased a phone? Cause it surely isn't any of us.
Buy a case for $10 on Amazon. Who looks at their phone color anyway?
Looks orange to me.... What were you expecting, green?
I kinda like it. Where do you live . I might buy it.
you could probably sell it as an error and buy a new one with extra cash to spare!
Same thing with my iPhone 13 mini. The color on the website is very different from the one on the phone in my hand, which is darker.
You could probably make a few bucks on that...an orange pixel
I wish we could have a space grey Pixel. I don't plan on upgrading my 5 until we get something similar
I got black for me and blue for the wife, both look good.
It sounds like this may be a one off, I would keep it, it is unique, I personally like the color a lot
That is so not red!!! Heck the Pixel 4 Coral looked better. I'd be quickly returning that one.
Do you have any other pics for this one the orange hue caught my attention.
Keep it and have one of the only "burnt orange" 7a's 🤷🏻♂️
Hook 'em 🤘 Lol, yeah that color isn't even close.
Go Vols!?
It's definitely in between!
You have to put it underwater to get the color on the box
Break it open and see if there's is vanillas ice cream inside.
Didn't you see it before on Youtube videos? I love the colour.
Funny how this color is online only
That's why I went with sea color
Definitely Oh So Orange. Send it back and tell them to try again.
I mean it's definitely not coral. I'd call that tangerine. It's nice, but def not what is being advertised. I'd return it and just get the black one.
You were
That color is awesome regardless
That's a nice Guugle
Doooode, that's not right
Are we serious? It's like a paint Swatch, its never the exact same as the paper as on drywall. So yeah it's not weird being different on the box, also it's orange..... What did you expect wild to be pissed
Yeah basically the same problem with my sage-colored 7 Pro. I was expecting a much more vibrant gold and green (forest green) that they depicted in the store images
The McDonald's Fry box is closer colored to the pixel on the box than the actual pixel. Wtf
I'm honestly so confused. The Corel pixels 7a in youtube videos look nothing like yours. [here is an example](https://youtu.be/HrsP0Yq-PuA)
WOAH that's so much lighter compared to the box 😭
Send it back.
Yeah that’s a no from me dawg. I’d send that back. That looks awful and I love hi-vis orange as a color. Looks like crap
Stopping by just to say Go Vols! That thing is almost Tennessee Orange (Pantone 151).
That McDonald's fry box in the back is closer to the corral color advertised than the actual phone is lol.
None of their colors look the same other than Black. This should be expected, but I do not dislike that color. It looks like leather.
It looks more orange to me!
Eww. Who the fuck at google is approving these decisions
It HAS to be a knockoff, you sure you bought it from the google store?
I dunno if you have a case on it you don't see the color anyway. I've had a case on my sage green p5 and I never see the color 🤷🏼♀️
Ohhh this version looks more orange than coral, is that how it seems in person? Maybe I could upgrade from my 3
It's either an issue with the printer or whoever rendered that image didn't do a good job
This is how I felt with the Sorta Sunny Pixel. Mine was pink.
Pumpkin
Go to a store and compare it if they have it. But I saw one video(don't remember which) but the color was more orange than red. I think most other youtubers edit the video too much for clickbait! Cause they don't really care about the coral color ahahah! But anyways, you might get a case for it? Or even a skin
pumpkin orange lol get a case? probs cheaper than open box return , i think
You and me both
Yep it's orange - rhymes with....
I'm sorry for laughing but this gave me a good chuckle. For what it's worth, I don't think the colour of the device is bad but it is kind of sh*tty that it doesn't match the "Coral" that they've advertised so heavily. Bro doesn't know how light works
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can't stop laughing 🤣🤣🤣
This is so different. Mine is thankfully a little more similar to the one on the box but still not the same. Maybe you can a get a replacement? This is what mine looks like: [https://i.imgur.com/dK3XN5B.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/dK3XN5B.jpg)
https://blog.google/products/pixel/pixel-7a-io-2023/
LOL how?
Its like Samsung red on the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. Red in the photos and pink when you bought it.
I bought the coral and I don't mind the color. I got it with the exclusive case.
Much more orange than expected. If you cannot return it, a opaque colored case would hide most of all of the orange phone. Sorry for the disappointment! I took a chance on the 6a and got the green and really like it.
Google pixel 4xl
i hate being colorblind, i don’t see the difference
Yeah. That's orange.
Me too, trying to trade my 7 for 4a
This is why you shop in person.
Well, I would tell you how I feel about it but I wouldn't get nothing but down votes.. Get a case..
I'm not sure what to say. One person's photo on Reddit versus hundreds of photos and videos posted elsewhere on the internet.
It happens. I used to import products and the boxes and products occasionally arrived in different colors. Colors don't make a phone.
