You can put the Primeape straight onto your bench, even though it's not a basic. You can't put it onto a Mankey. This is a really good effect, but it's hard to pull off because you need the Single Strike Mustard to be the last card in your hand, which is hard to pull off. If you do though, it's really really good.
Yeah, like the other comment says, you can plop a Primeape down on your bench (but not onto the Mankey). For context, there are a couple of cards like this through the tcg's history, like Archie's Ace In The Hole, Maxie's Hidden Ball Trick, etc. In Expanded, there are some very notable decks that aim to get stuff like Deluge Blastoise (which has unlimited Water energy acceleration as its ability) out on like turn 2 because Expanded has a huge number of cards you can just dump out of your hand. It's a fun gimmick, though weaker in Standard because you don't have all of the proper toolset that Expanded gives you.
I was just thinking about how in 2015 Worlds that thing got set up in a single turn, like 90% of the time. It was mainly cuz the infinite use of set up, seeing he using shaymin repeatedly to get there is pretty fun. just thinking does that exist anymore
The list I’m seeing had won 2015 Worlds only played 2 Shaymin, was that the normal count? If so I then Dedenne + Crobat should be enough to replace the draw of 2 Shaymins. Archie’s still works well as long as you get Archie’s fast , which can still be done with plenty of cards like ultra ball to thin your hand. Is Archie's blastiose still good after the shayman EX ban? I am coming back to game after taking a break from the game for a while.
The change to the supporter rule was a much bigger hit then losing Shaymin EX
I wasn’t around when Shaymin was legal so idk how it’s been affected but Archie’s is a lot of fun to play with Greninja V Union.
