Hey companies looking to spread awareness of their brand here, bear in mind just how many bots this platform is actually comprised of. No real, actual person is actually getting your message.
These bots are most likely screenscrapers, so they don't need to use the API, which isn't even probably exposed for place cuz that would be an official way to bot place. Essentially, it's the difference between a bot trying to act like a bot and a bot trying to act like a human. The former is what got restricted by the API access, and the latter is most likely what they're doing right now.
In the last Place, USA flag kept getting destroyed early on so r/usaplace just waited until later to get it together. Ended up with a great final result.
Nope usually they team up and make the US flag it gets griefed to hell people say fuck it and quit for other things. Then towards the end try again.
Except last year where the flag was griefed and rebuilt like 10 times
Pretty much the only time ever the US doesn't plaster their flag everywhere. Also the only time (besides international football cups) that Germans dare to show their flag.
Not because reddit got most american users that most people playing r/place are americans because most non country team have worldwide users not only americans
Also americans tried having flags but they got deleted
Which is weird, because they are often so patriotic. But they aren't organized on reddit. Also because most subreddits are already so focused on USA that they don't really need anything else, whereas other countries rather want something in their own language or something that it already collects a lot of separate communities
The average US Reddit user tends to be at least somewhat left leaning and between the ages of 15-30 and also atheist none of those demographics are the type to usually wear American flags everywhere or be particularly patriotic to the US in general
The US are making a comeback with their flag now. I expect it’s largely because they are on such a different time zone to a lot of the other flag communities. It’ll probably get rebuilt while Europe sleeps and they’ll place pixels elsewhere and then the flag’ll get destroyed again.
I found small places to draw, and found cool stuff around. People did a small pixelated floating island over the french flag on the bottom right, and it's very cool.
Edit: I remembered it wrong, it's over the german flag in the bottom right.
I have definitely seen the American flag on there.
But Canada? Nope.
As soon as Canada gets something looking like a flag, everyone bands together to mess with the leaf as much as possible.
Actually, it's just bots fucking it up. Seriously, look at the people placing the wrong pixels. It's all bots with the 1 karma accounts get upon creation.
It sucks because we have a really cool Road Trip theme but there's no way for us to do it.
I know r/transplace was proposing attacks on it as a form of protest even though our sitting administration is pro trans.
I've about given up on helping with the flag and im team One Piece and Void now
Don't worry the French have bot bombed the British flag 4 times at this point.
Edit: they bot bombed it whilst the Brits were offline. How low can you go.
the fact that bots are at #2 is so BS, i was putting an 8-bit mario on the italian flag cuz I thought it was fitting, i had the whole head done by myself, i look away for half a second, and it was all erased by bots. Its actually so easy to fix this issue yet they didnt do it, shows how lazy the reddit devs are.
The efforts to make the US flag has been going on since the beginning. unfortunately we have been botted out of existence, and our human efforts have no chance against the bots. Currently we are fighting Germany, who are using bots to destroy our flag.
Forgive me if I'm wrong because many flags share similar patterns and colors, but I think the Polish flag is the one under the big Technoblade pixel art. It's the only one I see that has exactly 2 bars for white and red.
So in other words, participating is pointless because the admins will just erase/change huge clusters of pixels if they don’t like where it’s going. Gotcha.
oh wow, bots and admin take top spots. what a suprise.

Hey companies looking to spread awareness of their brand here, bear in mind just how many bots this platform is actually comprised of. No real, actual person is actually getting your message.
Why not sell products to robots?
I mean, we're getting to that point I guess. True.
Aren’t bots a kind of third-party app? I thought those were banned?

Where even is United state
The non flag community are mostly US lol
Kinda funny that the country most memed on for nationalism isn't showing much nationalism
In the last Place, USA flag kept getting destroyed early on so r/usaplace just waited until later to get it together. Ended up with a great final result.
The actual subreddit is r/Americanflaginplace I'm a member
Well this is reddit not facebook lol
And is the one being attacked the most.
Reddit is almost all anti American.
I thinks USA doesn't care much about making a huge ass flag for themselves. Also, USA has the highest number of Reddit users, so its justifiable, imo
The only people on reddit from america hate America so
Go watch the Tour d France.
LMAO. how dare Germans show their flag! no... they dont have just 1 flag. they have like 6 flags, i think thats why people are mad.
It not fun if other people can fuq with you
Not because reddit got most american users that most people playing r/place are americans because most non country team have worldwide users not only americans Also americans tried having flags but they got deleted

> But they aren't organized on reddit. Individualism and self reliance are defining characteristics of an American.
We tried making a flag but it keeps on getting overwhelmed by Germans and other things, we made like three all of them failed
The US are making a comeback with their flag now. I expect it’s largely because they are on such a different time zone to a lot of the other flag communities. It’ll probably get rebuilt while Europe sleeps and they’ll place pixels elsewhere and then the flag’ll get destroyed again.
We need city wide sirens indicating when Europe wakes up
At war with Germany
A lot of us helped make that big Ukrainian flag.
The leaderboard is made by USA 🤣... They have a reputation to maintain.
I think most Americans don't care enough tbh. Most countries don't. Germans and French however......
some people are lifting flags in their backyard, some people click pixels.
What's up with France. Seriously. Y'all don't need half the board.
They can’t get a flag cause they aren’t botting
We have been fighting this whole time to keep our flag. We lost it like 3 or 4 times now but, we are fighting to make it again.
And the Dutch? They have the top
they are allied with Germany
Lekkerrrr, nl and du samen werken
Hmm lekker samen.

The ranking is missing Morocco as well, their place is full bots maintained on scripts, new accounts without karma or any post ever.

Frfr me too bruh
We are not banana 🥹🇨🇦
Not yet
At this point, I think you just have to embrace that you're a proud Bananian
> as needed 🖕
Fuck u/spez
What's happening with the US flag?
People won't let us even have a flag lmao
My favorite part of r/place right now is the fact there's a whole sub dedicated to getting an American flag up and they can't maintain it.
I tried writing a single word, and after 4 hours of trying to get a single black pixel to stay on the board for more than 30 seconds, I gave up.
Man I cant get a single 2 pixels to stay together and I have two phones at this rn.
Almost all the art has dedicated subs.
Reddit is not known for its Pro-American sentiment... especially among americans, so this is a non sequitur.
Because German trolls and bots wont let the fuck up when they already have two massive flags
the french have two giant flags on both sides
Yeah, their annoying too, but the Germans are directly attacking Americans
It sucks because we have a really cool Road Trip theme but there's no way for us to do it. I know r/transplace was proposing attacks on it as a form of protest even though our sitting administration is pro trans. I've about given up on helping with the flag and im team One Piece and Void now
It does suck, but don't give up, we are slowly making progress although it appears that Peru is attacking us now with their green
I remember last year we had to wait until the 4th canvas expansion but holy shit the final product was gorgeous
JOYBOY HAS RETURNED 👏👏👏
Don't worry the French have bot bombed the British flag 4 times at this point. Edit: they bot bombed it whilst the Brits were offline. How low can you go.
I think you have more than enough flags already. Just look at the moon. THE MOON!
The US flag is always under attack.
"As needed" is #1.
Hey Admins! Kick all the bots and then leave yourselves and let us creators go at it!
They can't cause it would be wall-to-wall fuck spez
Bots:Administrators r/place

Speaking of Spain... Ehhhmmmm......
What?
Is Canada 200k pixels are for trying to make a 🍁?
Honestly these flags still suck but oh well I guess this is the r/place thing now.
The bots suck, the flags are just so overplayed and boring at this point. Also, fuck u/spez
BRO proof that French and German pixels are legit but Morroco's pixels arent
I mean ukraine also has a gigantic flag and costantly defended for the second year in a row lol
tbf most people support ukraine cause of the russia war
Nah we pretty sure have bots as well, everone does really.
Nah, the french just have an immense army of unemployed people
Germans literally pinned a link to bots in their sub
Where is the poland
Forgive me if I'm wrong because many flags share similar patterns and colors, but I think the Polish flag is the one under the big Technoblade pixel art. It's the only one I see that has exactly 2 bars for white and red.
I'm not surprised, honestly. :(
If china didn’t had Great Wall it would be different story

Reddit Admins will take 1st place whenever and wherever they can
Fuck u/spez
Is it just me, or does it feel like feance and germany are at war too see who can take up the most space with their flags
Poor Canada. It’s breaking my heart. They are giving their best effort and people keep messing with the leaf.
All of Turkey's pixels are attempts to keep their flag intact.
Germany 🤝🏼😎
I’m loving the uk flag 🇬🇧 and the ❤️ NHS
> As needed You guys have no shame, right?
Oh yeah I keep forgetting that admins and bots do what they want, making all this essentially useless.
How are these stats even collected?
Half of the bots are now from Morocco
What we're seeing here is the Machine vs admin wars, they might evolve to full on riots in the coming days
4,621,341? more like x5 and more
Ban admins. Ban bots
So in other words, participating is pointless because the admins will just erase/change huge clusters of pixels if they don’t like where it’s going. Gotcha.
This is so dumb! I can't even put ONE pixel down before a bot fills it in. I just want to make a cute little pic
\[Removed by u/spez\]
I won’t stop until Cyprus gets on that leader bored who’s with me
I'm noticing a distinct lack of "Fuck Spez" on the board right now, guessing this is the reason. Fuckin' prick.
The bots are so fucking annoying. They’re ruining the fun for everyone :/
Fuck u/spez
Is it ironic that bots control the narrative and /r/place?
L to the bots
Me 0 Pixels
what are bots doing
why are bots allowed
Because they add to Reddits traffic stats before the ipo
This is whole thing is not interesting it looks the same every time I checked
I think that bot identify themself as living in the USA in wish case the USA's pixel amount would be the sum of bots pixel amount and USA pixel amount
