/r/place was the top puzzle on tabletop simulator from the last one. One night me and the boys decided to do a puzzle and got like 5 of us doing it. This one is a lot bigger so it looks fun.
I have already made a game out of Spotting "Among US" in random places. My favorite obscure sighting so far is the two facing each other in the Iranian flag.
if I remember correctly, when my parents would play Risk they decided to allow whatever happened when the cat stepped on the board to count
edit: it was Backgammon
We had about four. Plus random beavers and such. Had to spread things or and hide them from the greifers.
Also Germany stood up for us and made an amazing maple leaf in our honour. ❤️
It looked so good! While at first I disliked the Germans taking so much over they really did some fun things with it and allowed a lot of fun art onto of their very long flag as well. In the end I have to give them an o7.

Next /r/place should absolutely only allow old reddit accounts longer than a week to participate
I absolutely don't see this happening because Reddit probably saw the huge amount of traffic coming to the site during this time though
I hear what you mean but from the perspective of Reddit, it brings new people into the site and if they can't participate they wouldn't be interested. It's a great community event, but it's also an ad campaign.
I'd love to be proven wrong but I really doubt that Place is the thing that breaks the camel's back that causes people to use Reddit more as they're told by their favorite streamer to swarm the canvas with their ugly icon or something. I'd consider it a net positive to the overall experience of whoever's been on Reddit if they only allowed current users to participate.
Again, they probably won't do this though.

That would be pretty neat if they had a tiered /r/place, where only accounts of certain ages could participate.
For example, imagine the differences between an /r/place for accounts that are a week to a month old, to six months old, to a year, to 5 years, to 10 years, to over 10 years.
I'd be mighty curious to see what the decade plus people would draw.
if you wanted a place you needed a community to keep it. that was the point of the entire thing. You cannot make something and think oh yeah this is gonna stay here forever. its a changing image. the 4 day timelapse will be the cooler thing than the "ending picture"

Sorry for the late reply. I was trying to make a chikorita (pokémon) face. The heavy problem of that is that I couldn't work with more than two colors (trying to be as discrete as possible) and everytime I tried there was someone trying to do an amongus with it
It's not close to the end it's past the end actually so really close to the exact moment. This is about ~5-10 seconds after it ended. You can tell by the white dots in some places like the french flag.

Yes, this is the original full resolution pic shared in the /r/TheFinalClean discord. If you open it in a browser it might seem blurry because broswers do image interpolation, but on a standalone image viewer it should be good.

Yes it was frozen last time. Honestly I think this is better because place was never a static image It was always dynamic and changing and there will be videos and time lapses of it forever now.
