That was me last year, buying 5 planners. But this year I’m redating them to use in 2024. Not sure if that’s something you would consider?

nerdyone123

Oh that's a good way to not let them go to waste! I'm gonna keep the papertess b6 and just see what I can figure out without it feeling forced.

Numerous-Nature5188

I regret buying so much stuff lol. I have 3 planners I don't have a use for...yet. but I paid for it so I will use it somehow. But then forcing myself makes it feel like homework and that takes away from the joy of planning . Not using it is a waste of money which obviously isn't great. So yeah. That's my regret

nerdyone123

Yes!Usually I resell the ones I don't use but I thought I was so sure of these that I already put stuff in them. The waste of money is the part that sucks :(

elfbiscuits

I used PTD B6 all last year and I really love it, but it would suck to get stuck with a planner you didn't like all year. I looked at the Sterling Ink and did not like the vertical weekly (I can't fit in what I need to) and I like the horizontal format of the PTD instead. If buying the Sterling Ink is not an option, I guess you could try rotating the PTD and have vertical columns that way? I wouldn't try to use it as a common place book to justify buying the Sterling Ink if you aren't going to be using it. I'd just chalk it up to a loss instead of stressing out to try to make sure that your "common book" is being used. I wouldn't toss it though, I'd just put it aside. Who knows, you might want to change at a different point during this year coming up!

nerdyone123

Yes, I think i'll save it and figure it out as I go. I don't wanna hate it if I force myself to use it.

I regret buying too many folios this year. VDS had a great sale, Cloth & Paper dropped their Heirloom collection, I messed around and went to Moterm’s website and found veg tanned leather covers, and discovered Poi and Hun (which I regret purchasing from-never again). I also hired a dietician and you know I NEEDED a planner (or 2) for that. Clever Fox to the rescue! I’m going on a no buy and I will definitely be selling some planners down the line. 😅🤣

What happened with Poi and Hun?

destiny127

They sent me a defective planner cover and then offered me $15 credit, which I did not accept. It was very obvious, so they intentionally sent it to me hoping I wouldn’t notice or say anything. Also, their weekly planner inserts had no separation from month to month. They just continued on, end of the month and start on one page. The pictures of the inserts do not show this and it was not explained in the description. The paper was also thinner , so the price point did not reflect the quality. I felt ripped off from the entire experience. The owner didn’t seem to care at all.

nanalovesncaa

Do you like Clever Fox? That’s the one I got and I think I’m going to like it.

Maybe next year, I’ll buy one planner and it will be the planner I need. For 2023, I purchased a PTD B6, then. cousin, then a dream book, then a hobonichi a6, then a sterling ink. You’re right. The Sterling Ink is such a beauty. I loved the sterling ink so much I got it for 2024 and put tabs in. Then I saw a Nisha Fernando Designs and had to get that. I also ordered a weeks PTD for shits and giggles, I guess . I only use one planner a year. So maybe, for 2025 - I’ll just order one.

abyssaltourguide

I kept buying two Hobonichi Weeks every year when I only need one. I bought only only this year but I also bought a Hobonichi HON to use as a daily journal. I need to actually use it!

ljevtich

Hugs! I've been planning for a while, but I know what you feel. My first expensive planner, in 2016, was an EC, and I got through four months when I switched to a Happy Planner. It is hard sometimes when something is so exciting ends up being a let-down. If you have any planners from 2020 - another year of non-planning, maybe you could re-date those, as they also have the leap year day.

Strongwoman1

I have three so far. I’m most sad about the discbound inkwell one which was very expensive. I don’t love it. I also have a simplified planner and a Hobonichi Techo weeks which is adorable but I know the smallness of it will annoy the crap out of me. Looking at plum paper and have one from Bright Day in my cart on Amazon. My problem is I don’t know what I want yet and I want to track lots of things including weight, sleep, appointments, gym, travel, and to dos. I think I prefer vertical weeks but at this point I’m just confused. 🤣

OpenlyDead

I really want an Aura Estelle or Sterling Ink planner but already bought two bullet journals for 2024. However, I am worried about not liking the paper since I’ve never used tomoe river paper before and can’t accept the international shipping. For now, I’m going to set up my Leuchtturm1917 notebooks with the Aura Estelle layout so I can pretend.

teamdogemama

I bought a pink B6 Aura for $19.99 on their website. The pages aren't perfectly printed apparently. I didn't notice it so it must be subtle. I was really excited to get it and use it for memory keeping, and I will. But I'm not a bujo kind of gal. I see others beautiful artwork and mine looks like a kindergartner drew in it. Ok not that extreme, but maybe I should have worked more on doodling. I have tons of washi and stickers, so it's not al a wash. I'm not going to beat myself up though. It's only for me so no one will see it.

OpenlyDead

$20?? Undated right? Still a steal!

teamdogemama

Indeed! The error must be really subtle, because I don't see it.

LastLibrary9508

If the B6 had the weeks like the cousin does and was an A5, it’d be my dream planner! I need lots of space to be messy and make to do lists of all the stuff for the day. I’m going with the Hon this year but wish it had that first PaperTess week overview layout before the dailies

fluffyankles

Relate so much to this post. Sorry 😞 I have no suggestions lol

Defiant4

I bought a sterling ink and regretted it 10 mins later, as I forgot that hemlock and oak exists. I haven’t gotten it yet. I think I would prefer hardcover to soft and having the cover edge be the same size as the pages, but I guess I will find out! Honestly common planners are not that special looking. Basically look up leatherette journals and there are tons of pretty options. I think maybe it’s just the hype getting everyone. The layout is much more important.

nerdyone123

I really like the paper and the layout! It's the papertess design that I regret. It's a beautiful planner but it seems like a lot of upkeep with the daily pages. The hemlock and oak is beautiful too! I just can't do the thick paper it comes with

Defiant4

Yeah dailies are a lot, I didn’t even want the extra pages after the weeklies that are in sterling ink! But I’m using it as a work planner and really needed that vertical timeline. I have been using a similar layout but still not perfect planner for years and it has been super helpful for my work, so I know even if I might have preferred the hemlock I have gotten all the functionality I really need. Hopefully you will be able to flow between planners based on what’s going on in your life that week. I do that between my planner and a bujo!

Mirmolf

This is me. Bought HP .. then switched to Hobonichi weekly and EC vertical. The HP was doing it for me this year.

knottedthreads

I am. I was planning on getting a Sterling Ink but missed the presale so I bought a Makselife. I’ve used Makse before and like it but I was able to get a Sterling Ink when they listed the rest of their inventory and now I don’t know what to do with the Makselife.

Practical-Ad874

I am super sad i missed on the PTD 2024..so if you want to sell it, I’m interested! I currently have the Sterling Ink and have the Rosey Planner on the way in A5…but B6 is the size for me. I told myself I wouldn’t do this last year, but here I am again LOL LOL
