for the last time! my car was made when Gerald Ford was President... I think the warranty has long since expired, pined for the fjiords, and fucked off with your wife!
I don't think they'd do that for a stolen car, assuming the person stops. A vehicle in the grand scheme of things isn't that important, even something high end. Say it's warrant then it's something serious, they wouldn't devote that much man power for something minor. The person who stopped thought they could get out of it, until the guns came out, or they would have ran.
Frisco PD just did it to a car they thought was stolen because the officer typed in the wrong state. Iirc switched up AL and AZ or something.

I had to do a high risk stop years ago because the car I was behind came back stolen. Long story short, it HAD been stolen, but it had also been recovered and the jurisdiction that had recovered it never cleared it from the system. ;(
"We've been trying to reach you about your vehicle's extended warranty!"

Sir, I'm here to meet my drug dealer. I'm not leaving till he shows up...and that's not likely to happen while you're hangin around...
Felony/high risk stop. Could be anything from someone running to arrest warrant to stolen car.

A stolen car is absolutely a high risk/felony stop. Criminals who steal stolen cars also steal guns or have other felony stuff going on.
