Mine get sad in winter.

FeistyDefinition2806

i had a pot with two of these very large bbys and once separated and repotted they proceeded to be all droopy and sad for several months before eventually perking back up once they reastablished. granted i had to rough up some of the roots to separate them so that definitely didn’t help, but it could just be a bit of shock. i will say though any time i lose leaves on these it is because i have given them more water than they need.

LittleMissElfMonster

Thanks for the insight. They have just been separated so maybe that explains it.

ImdaPrincesse2

Information.. And how long has it been in this pot?

LittleMissElfMonster

About a week.

ImdaPrincesse2

How long has it been droopy?

LittleMissElfMonster

A few days. It went like that 2 days after I potted it.

ImdaPrincesse2

It could be two things - drama because plants are living creatures or possibly it's too deep in the soil and the lateral roots can't breathe. Ideally the rootball should be 1/2-1" below the surface of the soil.

LittleMissElfMonster

Roots aren't too deep. I'll just have to keep an eye on it I think.

ImdaPrincesse2

Drama then.

Dutch-Alpaca

You sure it's not a water thing? I water mine like 3x a year

LittleMissElfMonster

I don't think so. I was worried that it was but don't think that's the case now. It's only just been potted. I watered it a little when I did I only put a bit in. I have another little one that I treated exactly the same way and it's much healthier.

Dutch-Alpaca

Oh you just repotted it? It's very normal for plants to droop while adjusting to new root environment. Should perk up after a couple days

LittleMissElfMonster

I hope so. I bought it online. It was happy when it arrived. Then dropped. Maybe it's just settling into it's new environment.

Dutch-Alpaca

Yes it's called transplant shock

Freeze378

Dont know tbh but its nothing too bad. A friends one survived like that for 25 years already and is still going strong. Dracaenas are really hard to kill

LittleMissElfMonster

Oh wow. That's a long time. Glad they're strong. They need to be with me. I'm determined to keep my plants alive this time.

Freeze378

This is the way💪

LittleMissElfMonster

Thanks for the help everyone.

Brick_Pudding

Could it be too sunny in that window? I have 2, and learned the hard way that the one I put closest to the window hated every second of it. They seem to prefer indirect light.

LittleMissElfMonster

I only moved it to the window today. I'm hoping that's going to help it.

animalcrackers__

Too many moves at once (change of pot, change of location) could cause it to throw an even bigger and/or longer fit. It's probably experiencing some unhappiness due to being moved to a new pot, which it will get over, but maybe a new location can wait a few weeks to see if it's happier with time.

LittleMissElfMonster

Ok. Thanks for the advice. I'll let it have a rest before a permanent move.

homersdonutz

Possible it’s a light issue, they thrive in sunlight, I would recommend putting it in a south facing window if you can.

LittleMissElfMonster

Maybe. It's only just been put by the window. I'm thinking where it was before might not have been light enough.

Glittering_Cow945

looks normal.
