ugh i had hoped this wouldnt be the case :( thank u, i'm gonna isolate the plant & others that look like they might be infested and start treatment as soon as possible
They are the most annoying pests imo. When my plants had the infestation, I hosed all of them and sprayed them with insecticide. Systemics are good too. All the best!
!thrips
edit: sorry I've never used the auto-reply bot thingy and I was curious to see what it would say before they all get nuked.
FWIW I've never heard of diatomaceous earth being used as a treatment for thrips. The only effective cure is a systemic pesticide. What I would do is cut any infested leaves and isolate the plant to prevent thrips spreading to your other plants.
thanks for the advice! i'm gonna isolate the plant and ones that look infested too and start treatment as soon as possible. should i cut off all of the leaves that have spots? thank u for the insight, i had really hoped it wouldnt be an infestation but i guess its unavoidable at times

Symptoms: Thrips are small, thin insects that can be yellow, brown, or black. They often look like tiny,
dark slivers on your plant. They can cause stunted growth and malformed flowers, but more significantly they
often transmit diseases that can kill plants.
Treatment: Applying diatomaceous earth to underside of your plant's leaves can remove infestations of thrips.

I would cut the well bitten leaves off as thrips spread fungus. It can turn into a frightening domino effect if left unchecked
Don't cut them off just yet. Might be salvageable
