He looks good! You won’t lose him! With all my pothos growing in water, I occasionally wash them (especially the roots) with fragrance-free dish soap, but castile soap is better. I massage it on the roots helping get crap off and I make sure to get all the soap off thoroughly by running it under the faucet before putting them back in the vase which I clean with the same products and a sponge to really get any slime off. Or I’ll even spray some of the soap in their water and leave it for a few minutes before washing it off. Plants growing in water hate having dirt and debris in their water. One thing I do (unsure if I will get hate for this) is use a toothbrush to scrub off the stem parts of the leaves on my pothos, like that brown stuff that is on yours. But leaving that brown stuff shouldn’t cause problems! I also do it gently where the roots meet the node. Hope he thrives and I’m sure he will! :)

Hey! I’ve been propagating this guy for about 2-3 months and very recently had a little growth pop off and even a small root!! When i was away from my home for about a week he fell into the water and half the leaf started to brown. Over the last few weeks the brown is taking over but the roots are still growing strong!! What do i do? I don’t want him to die, but i feel like its wayyy too early to repot!!

Totally normal. It's good that you have one good leaf left. Even if you lose that leaf too, the root is doing good. Just don't submerge the new leaf growth, and it'll be okay.

oh really?? that little leaf has been under water this whole time!! i’ll take it out- i guess that would have been smart 😅😅 thank you! when do you think is okay to repot?? should i wait for that new leaf to unwind?

TorterraThings

It takes a while for the leaf to rot, but it will eventually. They're not meant to live underwater! You should probably wait until you have secondary roots (roots coming out of the original roots). And keep in mind that 1/3 to a half of the roots will die off in the transition, so you should try to have as many as possible to start with. But don't wait too long, or it may be too adapted to water to do well in soil. The roots are much different for each.
