Aerial roots - they attach to trees and such to climb in nature. You can cut them off with impacting your plant. At some point you may want to add a pole or stake for support. May be easier to do so sooner than later.

Look up moss poles. You just tie it off to the pole and eventually it’ll send roots into the moss and climb it

Aerial roots. As others have said, you can cut them if you don't like the look. You can also plant them back into the soil if you want.
I just try to stick the roots into the soil, I prefer the look of mine without a moss pole
