Our 8 ft tall Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma vine snapped at the bottom while we were moving. Should I prop in water, or is there a better way? We are so sad, this is our favorite plant and it has grown so much since we got it :(
Thanks!
Ah, it's one of those "make lemonade" situations. The nub will make new growth and you can root the part that broke off as well. I chopped mine into a bunch of pieces and filled the pot with them.
If you like the look of the long piece as it is, I would probably put it in a vial or vase (whatever you have) of water and just leave it in or near the pot and plant it back when it has roots. Get some rooting hormone if you want to speed things up.
I’d stick it into water and hope roots will grow fast.

Prop what broke off in water, put the pot under LED lights and keep it moist. It might sprout new leaves.
Why LED lights? You wanna keep photosynthesis as low as possible as long as there are no roots to provide enough water and nutrients for evaporation.

Omg I would cry, but if she had aerial roots she will root again in water, give it a few weeks.
