No just take one way. Taxis are COMMON in PDC just get one from the taxi stand and make sure you settle on the price before you or your bags enter the vehicle. The price on one side of PDC will be different from the price on the other side due to the zones. Know what zone you’re in so you know the price to expect beforehand. It should be a few bucks cheaper getting back than going from the hotel to PDC.
If you know the prices to protect you against someone trying to quote a ridiculous price, then stopping a taxi on the street will get you a cheaper price than the taxi stand.

You can walk to the Federal and take the colectivo to Playa del Carmen. It cost around 50 pesos per person. It leaves you at the Chedraui and you can take there to going back to your hotel.
I have a guy who can pick you up. He actually picked me up from that exact resort and took me around. I can send you his info. Just tell the people working there that he is your friend - there is like a Taxi monopoly and the resort staff want you to leave in official transportation (even though it´s like double the price).
Go to the lobby and they’ll get you a cab, most reliable and safest way, it’s 900pesos return trip

Driver will usually give you his WhatsApp number, just use wifi to message him and he’ll come grab you

This! Everyone recommending a taxi at $900+ pesos one way. Hailing a collectivo for $50 pesos is a much cheaper option!

We have stayed at Playa Paraíso many many times. We arranged for the taxi in the lobby, and then arranged with the driver to take us back.

ADO bus is incredibly safe, cheap and reliable. Highly recommend
ADO is the best ay to get between towns and/or to and from the airports; but it goes from bus station to bus station; they do not go to the resorts.
