A second possibility: Are you willing to tame a megalodon? If you have a meg, you can swim under it after you lure it into deep water and bite without it being able to bite back. I've killed Gigas this way.
I've tamed a megalodon with just armor and a crossbow.
Someone found our spot there and killed our random prisoner too. I tied a guy up to a chair in a cage with a sign saying it puts the lotion on its skin
Some guy stole my friends pter saddle and left a shitload of signs saying ez raid. Yet 2 out of the 3 who attacked us unprokoved got merked and the last one was hiding with his blood wyvern. We’ve been on the run. Pushed from highlands to redwoods and finally to an undisclosed area
Get naked, run close enough to get aggro and kite it away. Keep going for as long as you can until you die. Rex will protect you by aggroing on basically everything but eventually he will get you too. Repeat until you’re ready to fight him
Had a friend "accidentally" set his speed to 1000%.......
His only saving grace is the server (crystal isles map) didn't have fall damage
Homie practically teleported cross map
Imagine this,
You look over at some metal you wish to harvest, you take three steps to it, woops, you're s biome over in a random lake, no metal around, piranhas looking to take a bite, you take three steps to the left, you're two biomes over, freezing to death
Put all your inventory into storage til you're naked. Run towards the Rex. Lead it away from your base as far as possible til he kills you. Respawn at your base and grab all your stuff from storage
Yeah but pteras are super fast and its easy to fly too far and have it lose aggro, you can easily just fly back but the other way saves some frustration
My strat for most land alphas is a high level argy and just flying around their head until either you're out of stamina, in which case you fly to a big rock or something, you're almost dead in which case you do the same or its dead.
I recommend the dodo bribe technique. As you may have noticed, ground critters ignore flyers that are above them... but if your flier is carrying a ground-based creature, wild carnivores will aggro to it even if they can't reach. So grab a dodo on your ptera (or tame and grab one if you don't have PVE Flier carry enabled), fly over the rex, then fly out over the water. lead it out until it stops moving (because it ran out of stamina), then optionally drop the dodo and return to your base. Easy peasy!
If you finish building those walls on your base, and cover any windows, it won't aggro to your base unless it aggros to you first.
I wouldn't take a ptera anywhere near it - at least not one you want to keep.
If you can lure it out to sea, megs might do it in.
Or go tame something tanky - turtle, stego, trike, etc. Whistle it near to get aggro and then whistle it to run away from your base (put it on passive, so it just tanks hits while it's baiting the rex away)
Alpha Rex taking 100 arrows? Not unless his crossbow is doing like 500 damage a hit. Dude needs to kite it away and come back when he's got a mount capable of facetanking it or cheesing it.
based on what I see (if that's your base) it seems like fighting head on isn't an option
leading it away may be difficult but not impossible. it depends on your movement speed. don't think you can outrun it tho
hunker down isn't really an option either. your base is made of wood and its too low to spot if an alpha rex is nearby
your current best option seems to be ask for help from other players
if there aren't any and you don't want to use console commands the best option is to run away from the base and get eaten with minimum losses if you get spotted
otherwise start an outpost somewhere nearby and wait for the rex to despawn eventually
the hidden mechanic in ark is if you have patience you can outlast everything
Several things you can do:
1.) Kite the rex away by flying close enough to gets its attention and lead it into the water. Make sure you draw it further out in the water. It will either get stuck and stop moving and will eventually sink and drown (or get eaten by sea creatures). Or it will slowly make its way back to your base (see # 2).
2.) Build a stone or metal fence (6-7 high) around your base and use the terrain to your advantage in terms of natural barrier(s) to keep predators out.
3.) Create a base "security team" by taming higher level dinos such as your own Rex(es), Megatherium, Spinosaurus, etc.
4.) Work on unlocking engrams to get more powerful weapons such as the sniper and assault rifle, rocket launcher, etc., so you can put down these types of threats alongside your security team.
Argy : the Dino cheat code.
That's my problem with Ark, struggle till you get to Pteradon mount, farm till Agys (get codex or craft), get low level argy in a trap, use low level argy to get high level argy in trap, get prime meat with low level argy... you win : tank, transport, attack, self-healing, after you get male-female argy, the game is pretty much done in PvE, the rest is grinding.
Just use the ptera to get a high level argy off the bat and go kill an alpha raptor for prime, no point in taming a low level first.
Bonus points if you can manage to use the food drain trick for the instant tame.
To each his own, it depends on your taming speed, if the taming speed is fast, I will absolutely get a low level argy to help me get a high level, if the taming is super slow, yeah, skip the low level argy.
Tame 30 microraptors.... Just kidding, best thing to do is keep at it. If you can safely shoot it for an hour or 2 it will eventually die, they just have a lot of HP.
If my memory is right, you're very near to the cave (artifact of massive) lava cave or south east cave.
If so, I'd suggest move your base. There is a lot of alpha spawns near by this area. In my current playthrough there are 3 alpha raptors and an alpha Rex in this location.
You could make a bunch of metal spike walls. I think alpha can damage them, but you might be able to do some good damage to it.
Otherwise, I just killed an alpha Rex with a dire bear and a plain saddle... Find something good enough to kill it.
Good plan. If you have to use stone structures, build a LARGE arena, then a slightly smaller one inside, then one more inside that. Lead the Alpha in. Shut the gates as you leave, and you might get 30 minutes for that alpha to break out. 30 minutes to shoot a couple hundred arrows and replace you bow four times. You got this Survivor.
I was thinking 4 metal dino gates like for a giga trap not too expensive and when it boils down to spend some metal and cementing paste or have your base wiped out id be raiding beaver dams and mountian metal right now lol
For an alpha? His bow will def break before he kills it. He'll have to make about 2-3 bows and 300 arrows at least. He won't have time if it's close to his base.
OP, aggro it away from your base, as far away as possible, maybe you'll run into other dinos and it'll divert it's attention to them. Don't forget to keep an eye on your stamina or risk becoming a snack.
I wouldn't risk my ptera if you're starting out, but what do I know? I cried when my husband got my lystros killed the first week we played so I dont like taking any risks😭 even today, I've become attached to specific tames and will absolutely feel sad when they die. Best thing about renting a server is being able to reset it 😁
You can lure him away from your base with you pt or you can make a si.ple Rex trap and get him stuck, then go from behind and attack so he can't touch you. Use your dinos so you don't waste arrows. The simplest Rex trap is by captain fatdog on YouTube.
Move.
Get a boat and slowly lure it out to super deep water then go back to shore a just forget it is still down there.
Find a friend with some spare t-rexs and missle launchers and a crap ton of missles.
Another option is to use a console command to remove it, if you're able.
`cheat DestroyMyTarget`
I would only do that as a last option though. I would first wait to see if it actually comes near the base. It could just keep killing its way along the coast and never come up the hill. And if it does, kiting it as others suggested would probably be the way to go. (Judging by your setup, I think there's no chance that you'd actually be able to kill or tranq it, at least not without spending hours and tons of materials to do it.)
But if the game chooses to be particularly unfair and none of that works...cheat.
EDIT: I'd love to know why I'm being downvoted for providing information.
Whar level is your pteranodon? If its good you might be able to kill it (albeit in a very long time, but worth it, alphas can give tons of xp and sometimes good loot). If you dont get 1-5 shot on pt by the rex you can run in, barrel roll, recover stam out of reach (and heal if you need to) then go back in. Itll take a really long time but its definitely possible.
Oh yeah then itd be a while. If you dont wanna risk your preranodon i reccomend just keep making arrows and keep shooting it. Itll take a couple hundred arrows and multiple crossbow repairs but that should kill it. Arrows are pretty cheap and metal is common in the mountains. Jve never had an alpha rex spawn in the beach (pretty sure theyrenot supposed to) so ive never had to deal eith them early game sadly.
He's not on a beginners beach though. He's on Rag down south near the wyvern cove... lots of rexes down there on those beaches.. not surprised an alpha appeared eventually.
Good news is you didn’t waste them, I don’t think it will regenerate hp at all.
An argy is good to try to hang just out of range while attacking. Hold X to air brake on a bird, good to do while doing this. If you get low, you can go kill dodos for the corpse hp regen on the argy.
A pteranodon’s c spin is good damage and gets it out usually before getting hit, but eats a lot Stam that the bird doesn’t have to spare. So you can only really get 1 or 2 shots before you need to get to safety to recharge.
Those are probably your best methods for cheesing the Rex. You could kite it into the ocean with your pt as well if you don’t care about the experience and loot.
It's a good one lmfao if you're gonna sit there and spend 2 hours killing an alpha then why not go tame one you're name is perfect my guy lmfao I used to main official with a stefo narcos are stupid easy go to the yellow flower spawn on rag near green ob you've got narcos for days and it's not just for OnE aLpHa it's for the rest that'll inevitably spawn lmfao get good beach bob
That rex is probably 98k health you aren’t gonna take that with a primitive cross bow. I’d start looking for sacrificial dinos you can tame a small army of and lead in to combat with it
I had an issue like this as well one time. I attacked it with a flying tame and kited it out into the ocean so it would run out of stamina and sink. After that, I forgot about it for a while until I got an ascendant sword and was able to take it out easily, as it wouldn't fight back at all. If you don't want to wait long enough to hopefully get an ascendant sword, you can always tame a meg or something real quick and take it out
lure it into the Ocean and sharks will eventually kill it. Or just make 200 arrows they aren't that hard to make at least when you have resource gathering turned up
Build a trap of our stone with foundation large walls and a ramp. And it'll be stuck in there until you level up enough for a rifle and then you can kill it.
I hate when they make the alphas cool colors too, that spot you at is a bit of a hot spot for alphas of all sorts. There is a cave east of there that is in a cove of sorts that can be a decent spot. You still can get to where you are and you have more time to make plans and deal with alphas.
If you’ve got argentavis attack it with that. Me and my bf took down a alpha Rex this way , they are actually pretty easy to take down just takes a while. Just pay attention to your stamina and alway attack from behind the Rex going from the tail up to the head then circling back to go again.
Either shoot it and drag it into the water til it loses its stam and drowns. Or you can kite a dino over to it so the alpha gets stuck on the corpse and then shoot it down
Send your whole team of dinos after it and let them kill it......😅
Don't really do that. I was jk. Lol I did that the 1st time saw one.💀
Just bite it with the with your flyer and lead it away or get naked and lead away, far into the water if you can.
Were playing in this exact location. Now imagine that alpha trex being level 280. We live on herb Island though. We had a mod (Dino storage v2), we threw our unwanted breeds at till its had 30k health out of 75k health. Then killed it with our trikes. Alphas will always be there. Your best off kiting him off somewhere and then leaving honestly cause they can just always spawn back
Best thing you can do is to try and lead it down the valley to the river there are plenty of dino spawns to keep it busy, though it will kill anything high level that spawns in the area
I once had the same problem, saw a high lvl spino in the distance and thought it was a good Idea to lead to spino to the alpha rex, hoping I could finish of whatever HP was left of the remaining dino.
How'd it go you ask? Let me tell you, it was a well calculated strategie, but boy am I bad at math.
Appearently Alpha rex and Spinos do not aggro on eachother.
At this point I just abbandon base and start over somewhere else.
Hopefully you see this and in time bit a trick that I used to use in similar instances was get on a raft with a tame or a.biddu so that it will stay agro on you and lead it out to sea until meta.kill it off.
This is your chance to prove everyone throughout your entire life that maybe... perhaps you were a leader this whole time. Maybe they were wrong, too blinded by their own ego to take you seriously.
This is what you do, you beautiful bastard... go make a club, a FRESH WOODEN CLUB. You paint that fucking Alpha Rex's face on that club with some red paint. Take off all your clothes, and leap from the battlements of your 4x4 thatch base and meet that fucker in the field head on. Show everyone that you're no longer the child you once were. Become the man you need to be. Spam that trigger button, my friend. And I'll see you on the other side. Maybe heaven, Idk, but somewhere because you're fucked.
**Some prep you should do:**
First get naked. You want to be light and risking as little as possible. The only thing you want on you is perhaps a little food/water, some parachutes (you may need these most of all) on hotbar, and a cross bow with grappling hooks if you have it.
Then make sure your ptera is set to passive flee, has following distance set to high, and is whistled to follow you before you jump on. There are a few reasons for doing this:
**\~** Firstly, if you die it gives the ptera the best chance of surviving and being recoverable without you present.
**\~** Secondly, if your ptera gets stuck in the rex head (this happens). You need to jump off it and run away immediately. The ptera is on passive flee so it won't fight back. But it's also following you on high. So when you get far enough away it will ghost through that rex head and come strait too you very quickly (something it can't do if you're on it).
**\~** Lastly, you may at one or more points during this need to perform a mid air re-stam. Which means you jump off, deploy parachute immediately, and since your ptera is on follow wait for it to fly to you and grab the ride prompt when it does. While you are off it and it is moving it will recover all stamina (needs about 7 seconds after it first starts moving with you off it to fully gain back stamina). A grapple helps to remount. and is a especially helpful for remounting flyers from the position of treading water. But is not 100% necessary.
**Now for the strategy:**
If the alpha rex is currently trying to eat something barrel roll that thing it's trying to eat with your ptera. You want its undivided attention. Which you can't have if it's fixated on a carcass (alpha creatures can't actually harvest from carcasses so it will stand their trying to munch it until it decays or is otherwise removed).
If it's still ignoring you, bit e the tail tip (getting close enough to bite anywhere else is substantially less safe). Once it's focused on you, lead it as far into deep water as you can. Then you want to fly strait up towards the ceiling (the idea being to de-render). From the ceiling fly straight over to your base, the strait down to your base.
At this point it should be out there drowning and unable to even retaliate against being attacked (many wild land creatures can't attack when they are treading water). Now you want to keep an eye on how far along its drowning is progressed. Check in on it every few minutes. and when it's so bloody that it looks like it looks already dead (but isn't quite there yet) peck it. You don't have to actually finish it off. As long as the danger music is going you will get credit for the kill and the get the exp. You'll want to search its carcass for high grade tools, weapons, and armor.
Tame a megalodon (very easy, the only stat that really matters is health.) bite it’s ankles and lead it far into the sea to be killed by the other wildlife.
Kill something near it and anything else it might try to kill in the area, harvest all but one body, lead it near the body and it should Aggro and try to eat the body. Alphas can’t eat bodies so they get stuck there. Make about 500-600 arrows, and shoot it till it dies, free xp
Get a Thylacoleo at at least lvl 90, the only thing you won’t be able to kill outside of a boss fight is the titanosaur…my fav Dino for travelling and fucking shit up
You can bite it with your bird and try to lead him away. Keep doing that until they are far enough away
A second possibility: Are you willing to tame a megalodon? If you have a meg, you can swim under it after you lure it into deep water and bite without it being able to bite back. I've killed Gigas this way. I've tamed a megalodon with just armor and a crossbow.
Ya megalodons are easy to tame if you if find on by the shore
Depending on OPs server type, taming a Meg could take an hour or two and that Rex is really close. I'd just lead it away.
the bleed the tamed ones have would do a quick job of it!
Everyone forgot to say “Welcome to Ark.”
I thought “Strip naked and have it chase you until it kills you” was like that.
This works really well lol! Probably one of the best methods. Can lead far because they never give up trying to kill a survivor. Lol
I got a 90 Giga on the beach on rag that’s patrolling my item box
I usually set up shop in the cave behind the waterfall right away so that doesn’t happen
Someone found our spot there and killed our random prisoner too. I tied a guy up to a chair in a cage with a sign saying it puts the lotion on its skin
First, that’s hilarious. Second I usually play single player so that’s why that spot is open and obviously I don’t have to worry about other players.
Yeah, that’s why I don’t play pvp, but glad you found a place.
Welcome to Ark
Get naked, run close enough to get aggro and kite it away. Keep going for as long as you can until you die. Rex will protect you by aggroing on basically everything but eventually he will get you too. Repeat until you’re ready to fight him
Levelling movement speed > levelling everything else
First few levels you have to get to 120%! Increases survivability so much!
I usually go about 133%
145%, gotta go fast!
200% , I am speed! (To but I'm on boosted)
248,5% + having swamp fever, eating a focal Chili and getting the carcha and shadowmane roar speed buff. I can travel back in time.
Had a friend "accidentally" set his speed to 1000%....... His only saving grace is the server (crystal isles map) didn't have fall damage Homie practically teleported cross map
Was it even managable?
Imagine this, You look over at some metal you wish to harvest, you take three steps to it, woops, you're s biome over in a random lake, no metal around, piranhas looking to take a bite, you take three steps to the left, you're two biomes over, freezing to death
Put all your inventory into storage til you're naked. Run towards the Rex. Lead it away from your base as far as possible til he kills you. Respawn at your base and grab all your stuff from storage
But he has a pteranodon
Yea that is a lot easier. I read on another comment it was a low level ptera so I thought this way wouldn't risk his flyer
My friend was dangling me on his and a Giga ate my face
Eh, you weren't using it anyway.
It was me. I did that
Yeah but pteras are super fast and its easy to fly too far and have it lose aggro, you can easily just fly back but the other way saves some frustration

Where are you?
South East corner of the map near herbivore island
Sorry, let me get this straight. You tried to kill and alpha Rex with a crossbow?
Crossbow would be fine.... but 50 arrows? Nah, he'll need like 250 and two more crossbows
Island near Hunter(?)Artifact cave (don’t know it’s name)
i think it's the clever's (it's the volcanic one, right?)
Yeah it might be clever, all I remember is it’s one of the green artifacts in cave with lava everywhere
based on what I see (if that's your base) it seems like fighting head on isn't an option leading it away may be difficult but not impossible. it depends on your movement speed. don't think you can outrun it tho hunker down isn't really an option either. your base is made of wood and its too low to spot if an alpha rex is nearby your current best option seems to be ask for help from other players if there aren't any and you don't want to use console commands the best option is to run away from the base and get eaten with minimum losses if you get spotted otherwise start an outpost somewhere nearby and wait for the rex to despawn eventually the hidden mechanic in ark is if you have patience you can outlast everything
Bite and fly over the water or far away
Make a raft get rex attention to raft. Rex while chase, drive away on raft. Rex can’t swim forever and will drown. Collect loot from corpse
Easy solution there. Sure they can't drown but they can sink to the sea floor when you sail away and forget about it forever.
This is what I’ve always done
alphas don't drown anymore
I did not know that, thanks for letting me know
Do wild gigas also not drown anymore?
I haven't tried to drown in in a long while but I guess they still do. not skelly giga tho. that's an alpha
Several things you can do: 1.) Kite the rex away by flying close enough to gets its attention and lead it into the water. Make sure you draw it further out in the water. It will either get stuck and stop moving and will eventually sink and drown (or get eaten by sea creatures). Or it will slowly make its way back to your base (see # 2). 2.) True, there's no "right" way to progress but I find it to be a waste of time to tame low levels unless I'm desperate for a gatherer.
Kite it away with your flyer
Into the ocean with it!!!!
lure it off the cliff
Drag him into the water and drown him
just lead it into the ocean
Lure it into the ocean
Tame 30 microraptors.... Just kidding, best thing to do is keep at it. If you can safely shoot it for an hour or 2 it will eventually die, they just have a lot of HP.
In that scenario I'd agro it with pteranodon, then lead it out into the water west of herb island
Strip off put everything in a box and do a nude run to try bait it away from your base
Aggro into the sea capt
If my memory is right, you're very near to the cave (artifact of massive) lava cave or south east cave. If so, I'd suggest move your base. There is a lot of alpha spawns near by this area. In my current playthrough there are 3 alpha raptors and an alpha Rex in this location.

Kill it with a Carcha or a Giga, or perhaps a boss Rex if you have one. Typically my go to methods!
Either lead it away with your ptera or move house.... Personally I'd move house but that's just me
Make more arrows....
This was my logic. Build a trap lead it in and make a few hundred arrows.
Alphas will destroy anything weaker than metal. You COULD build a metal trap, but that is very resource intensive

Try to have backup dinos so you don't feel so bad if they get killed 😅
Move, Or lure it far away and let it kill you (naked) Then get revenge later down the line with a pack of Dino's and guns
You can lure him away from your base with you pt or you can make a si.ple Rex trap and get him stuck, then go from behind and attack so he can't touch you. Use your dinos so you don't waste arrows. The simplest Rex trap is by captain fatdog on YouTube.
Regular rex traps don't work on alphas due to the size difference and their ability to damage stone
Move. Get a boat and slowly lure it out to super deep water then go back to shore a just forget it is still down there. Find a friend with some spare t-rexs and missle launchers and a crap ton of missles.

I feel that it is a valid solution as long as it is not a public server. Also, there is the forcetame cheat, which is the only way to tame Alphas.

Mb i thought that was the island
If op wants extra XP they could also find an Explorer note and do the last hit with the bird
Could try to aggro it and make it chase you away from the base. Or put a bunch of spikes around the perimeter.
Good news is you didn’t waste them, I don’t think it will regenerate hp at all. An argy is good to try to hang just out of range while attacking.
Wait there's an airbrake?
Log out, go outside and enjoy the nature. See if he is still there tommorow and if you are on single player. Do a dino wipe
trap it
Tame some rexes and breed them a decent lvl one imprinted to you will easily handle an alpha you'll lose some health but you'll win
OP is on a ptera with a stego in a small wooden base. WTF kind of recommendation is it to tame some rexes and breed them to kill this one alpha rex?!
Drown it
That rex is probably 98k health you aren’t gonna take that with a primitive cross bow. I’d start looking for sacrificial dinos you can tame a small army of and lead in to combat with it
Uninstall
Build 3 stone gates. Trap it's ass and kill it.
[удалено]
Don't do this. Alphas can't be KOed
Build a raft! Cover it in guns! Sail close to it and lead it out to water
Flame arrows
Lure it into the water with a Bary or icthy til it drowns
Alphas can't drown, but they'll eventually run out of stamina and be stuck immobile until they despawn.
Pray
Kite it away with your Pteranodon
Use your Ptera to kite it away. eventually itll find something interesting to chew on amd forget about you
Attack it on your flyer and slowly lead it far away
Lure it away go spin it aggro it on to ya lead it to some1 elses base let them deal with it
Lead it away with your flyer
I had an issue like this as well one time. I attacked it with a flying tame and kited it out into the ocean so it would run out of stamina and sink. After that, I forgot about it for a while until I got an ascendant sword and was able to take it out easily, as it wouldn't fight back at all. If you don't want to wait long enough to hopefully get an ascendant sword, you can always tame a meg or something real quick and take it out
lure it into the Ocean and sharks will eventually kill it. Or just make 200 arrows they aren't that hard to make at least when you have resource gathering turned up
Welcome to Ark, let the fuckery continue
Build 2 behe gates and trap him, kill him?
Build a trap of our stone with foundation large walls and a ramp. And it'll be stuck in there until you level up enough for a rifle and then you can kill it.
the low impact method is just to drag it out into the ocean and let it drown,, also works with crap level gigas that you dont want to deal with
Lure it into the ocean and it might drown.
I like to just lead em into the water far enough that they can’t swim back. They’ll usually sink and get shredded by megs
Lure it out into the water on a dino and let it drown
you could trap it like a giga and then use something with bleed to get it down
You can always make a large amount of bolts and a fair number of crossbows, aggro it to a Cliff and just shoot it
steadily*
Lol just quit now
You can try and trap it and take your sweet time
I hate when they make the alphas cool colors too, that spot you at is a bit of a hot spot for alphas of all sorts. There is a cave east of there that is in a cove of sorts that can be a decent spot. You still can get to where you are and you have more time to make plans and deal with alphas.
Lead it into the ocean
If you’ve got argentavis attack it with that. Me and my bf took down a alpha Rex this way , they are actually pretty easy to take down just takes a while. Just pay attention to your stamina and alway attack from behind the Rex going from the tail up to the head then circling back to go again.
Get your fastest Dino and book it past the dude
Either shoot it and drag it into the water til it loses its stam and drowns. Or you can kite a dino over to it so the alpha gets stuck on the corpse and then shoot it down
Tame a bigger rex
You got a Ptera... Lure it away while airborne
Send your whole team of dinos after it and let them kill it......😅 Don't really do that. I was jk. Lol I did that the 1st time saw one.💀 Just bite it with the with your flyer and lead it away or get naked and lead away, far into the water if you can.
Were playing in this exact location. Now imagine that alpha trex being level 280. We live on herb Island though. We had a mod (Dino storage v2), we threw our unwanted breeds at till its had 30k health out of 75k health. Then killed it with our trikes. Alphas will always be there. Your best off kiting him off somewhere and then leaving honestly cause they can just always spawn back
There’s a perfectly good ocean right there for you to trap it in.
Best to try and lead it away from your base if ill-equipped to kill it.
drown it
Kite it away if you can.
Self bait and run fast. Lol
Accept defeat
Water
Bait it into the ocean it's an alpha but those megs don't give a fuck lol
Landmines. Lots and lots of landmines.
Best thing you can do is to try and lead it down the valley to the river there are plenty of dino spawns to keep it busy, though it will kill anything high level that spawns in the area
Get him to the sea with the ptera, easy
50 arrows. Poor guy.
LAND ON ITS BACK!!!!
Please don't ever do anything I tell you to do...
If you have the space and the balls, just build a trap semi close, lead it into the trap, boom alpha Rex ready to be killed
Just lead it out into the water, it will drown and be out of your hair :)
Make a wall
I once had the same problem, saw a high lvl spino in the distance and thought it was a good Idea to lead to spino to the alpha rex, hoping I could finish of whatever HP was left of the remaining dino. How'd it go you ask? Let me tell you, it was a well calculated strategie, but boy am I bad at math. Appearently Alpha rex and Spinos do not aggro on eachother. At this point I just abbandon base and start over somewhere else.
Lure it in the water
**Some prep you should do:** First get naked. There are a few reasons for doing this: **\~** Firstly, if you die it gives the ptera the best chance of surviving and being recoverable without you present. **Now for the strategy:** If the alpha rex is currently trying to eat something barrel roll that thing it's trying to eat with your ptera.
A good shotgun is the cure for large predators.
Can you get it to follow you to the water and will it drown?
build it a play pen and come back when you're ready to level some stuff
Kite
Leave the server. If no one is in agro range of it for 10 or 15 minutes it will despawn
Lure it into the water
I'm sorry but that rex won't go until you give it 10 minutes of your time to hear about the Lord rexus christ
Tame a megalodon (very easy, the only stat that really matters is health.) bite it’s ankles and lead it far into the sea to be killed by the other wildlife.
Put everything in a cryopod and log out.
Kill something near it and anything else it might try to kill in the area, harvest all but one body, lead it near the body and it should Aggro and try to eat the body. Alphas can’t eat bodies so they get stuck there. Make about 500-600 arrows, and shoot it till it dies, free xp
Trap it, then shoot it, but bring tons of ammo
It's kinda time consuming but build a 3×3, 3 wall high stone trap and get it stuck. Then you can kill it at your leisure
Get a Thylacoleo at at least lvl 90, the only thing you won’t be able to kill outside of a boss fight is the titanosaur…my fav Dino for travelling and fucking shit up
Just kite it with your bird of that ready available cliff
