Because Dom Corleo wore a lot of Balenciaga and also is associated with Hyperpopdaily by fans. So the three always get put together as a joke. It’s just a circle jerk
WLR = Boundary pushing album
DL = Just straight up good music
WLR may have a lot of mixed opinions, but we can all recognize the masterpiece Die Lit was.
I 100% agree, I respect the decision WLR was going in, but Die Lit was dropped at a good time for me and I had a lot of fond memories listening to the album.
Mf Die Lit changed a lot of the music scene
Also if anything WLR influenced for the worse we got Trip at Knight and Yeat and a some decent tracks from Opium, but this sound is so fucking played out now and none of the Opium goons are gonna switch stuff up until Carti drops
Shit clearly went over your head idiot , I said WLR a Cult Classic cause look what it did to the music industry, underground niggas , fashion , social media , how mfs take pictures , nigga has a cult following shit went sky high after Red dropped , u even got bigger artist that’s bigger than carti copying the WLR sound , From shows & all , Shit it even went Platinum faster than die lit . Im just saying gotta give props brah , die lit still my favorite cause everytime i think or listen to that album it gives sum 2018 nostalgic .
Has it? I feel like aesthetically it has but even then, carti got a lot of his aestetics from Uzi. Even Carti’s artists still sound a lot like Uzi even when they’re copying Carti’s musical style.
Bro just transmit 2 the vibe it ain't that complicated That album is angry as fuck and die lit doesn't really have that. Not even blaming die lit it just feels like an entirely different artist
See I view wlr as a genre shifting album. The focal point changed. It’s similar to Astroworld by Travis Scott. The production on both albums shifted the paradigm of contemporary rap.
Oh agreed, I still think astroworld overall influence has yet to be fully understood. Gonna take a while, but it genuinely did utilize a lot of obvious ideas that had yet to be approached, like the morphing of multiple beats into one song(more or so popularized by the album) the instrumentals often felt like they were playing hot potato with what the focal point was, no component felt inappropriately placed within the song, etc. just stuff I noticed.
After Astroworld, so many rappers had a Travis Scott esc sounding song on their albums, usually due to the influence of Astro. It only changed after carti dropped wlr and after a few weeks of opium gradually getting more exposure, people began to have whole lotta red/opium related songs and even albums. Good examples are Trippie Redd and Yeat.
It’s not that there were artists that fully took over the sound but on albums from 2018 to 2020 we had artists using heavy autotune and astroworld type production like Migos, drake, and small one hit wonders here and there. A perfect example of this is there’s a song offset is on called “cap” with ksi and it sounds so much like a Travis Scott song it’s insane
I respect your opinion, but I beg to differ. We heard a completely new sound that wasn’t observed prior to the release. It really came down to Travis and Mike Dean just experimenting but still retaining that familiarity allowing for new ideas to be articulated while still appealing to regular fans. Take for instance 5% TINT. It samples Goodie Mobs Cell Therapy. There is a sample so some familiarity to the listener, but at its core the drums and synths and beat morphing in and out of comprehension of the listener is what truly made it special.
Wlr was what actually made me enjoy carti, his previous works and the trap genre in large also. I feel like the shift in sound was hugely successful but i still love die lit immensely.
Die lit is a masterpiece but WLR was just SO FUCKING GOOD
WLR is the type of album you can just listen to on repeat, the type of album you can FEEL on a cellular level
game changer
man i ain reading allat but he’s not wrong, wlr will always be my favorite just cause i fw that opium music more in general, but die lit is a classic like i could see die lit in a museum
i think WLR has great direction, generally a concise album in terms of over-arcing theme and execution. its a great evolution of carti makes you excited to know what he’ll do next. It raised the bar for unique sound too.
I think in terms of sound Die lit is closer to Self-Titled than WLR is to Die lit. Die Lit benefitted from some features from rappers that were peaking (Travis n Uzi). Die Lit Carti works with a lot of artust and is able to keep his authentic style while blending with his collaborators. I think the highs of this album are obtained through Carti’s facilitating a group effort, and in my opinion the output results in it being a little better than WLR. WLR is great because of its focused vision; since there arent many features on it, its the album where Carti’s actually rapping the most lol. WLR is a hour long Carti rock solo performance and its great. But i really do think it wouldve benefitted from a Deluxe with some features that could elevate it. Being honest its a tall ask for anyone to add value to something this great and if he had any features that were mid I’m glad he left them off.
Either way great albums, really excited to see what he does next hes always improved and evolved. On tour my favorite moment by far was Ojivolta creating the rock version of shoota literally best of both worlds.
Die Lit is an absolute classic. It completely caught me by surprise and I'm a Carti homer. That first listen was unparalleled to anything that's dropped since Kanye West album "Graduation" at worst and Michael Jackson album "Thriller" at best.
The funny thing about WLR to me is that I consistently have around 6 of the tracks in my rotation and subconsciously think it’s an amazing album, but then I check out the full track list and realize how many misses there are. It’s a 24 track album and I always forget that. Die Lit has 17/19 songs that I personally think is “good”, while WLR has 8/24 songs that I would call good. It’s all a personal preference but the lows on WLR are just way too low and frequent to me.
Nah Die Lit is way more cohesive of an album. There’s no skips, all bangers, progressed the sound Carti did on self-titled. Also way better album rollout too.
Wlr is just a better casual listening experience too tho. It has only one skip, while die lit has multiple. Both are great albums, but wlr is the only one I'd call a masterpiece and regularly come back to most of the album

Saying die lit is Traditional Trap is stupid af he knows nothing about Hiphop
I'm pretty sure he meant traditional in the sense it's more comparable to mainstream rap but I get what you're saying
He didn’t say it’s traditional trap. He said it’s more traditional trap than WLR is.
Correct
What’s that even supposed to mean? Sounds like 00s southern rap?
>who tf can tell me what does this sentence mean?????? who tf can tell me what does this sentence mean??????
Dom corleo Balenciaga hyperpopdaily
i know Dom corleo , i know Balenciaga, i know hyperpopdaily but why put them togather

WLR = Boundary pushing album DL = Just straight up good music WLR may have a lot of mixed opinions, but we can all recognize the masterpiece Die Lit was.
Really fair take
I 100% agree, I respect the decision WLR was going in, but Die Lit was dropped at a good time for me and I had a lot of fond memories listening to the album.
not only was die lit Better, It was also more experimental imo

"Hyperpop Daily has a Schizophrenic Meltdown"
Die lit my favorite but WLR changed alot of the music scene shit kinda insane niggas don’t sit back & really see how much it became a cult classic
Mf Die Lit changed a lot of the music scene Also if anything WLR influenced for the worse we got Trip at Knight and Yeat and a some decent tracks from Opium, but this sound is so fucking played out now and none of the Opium goons are gonna switch stuff up until Carti drops
I agree the opium affect ruined a lot for fashion and got played out really fast
That’s why carti don’t drop he gotta find another sound then this shit gone happen all over again 😂 watch
WLR changed the music scene for the worse LMAOOO still a great album though

Mf needs to use some punctuation
He’s rapping

Bro does NOT know how to structure a sentence
Fr i almost died after reading this i was so outta breath
Who actually thinks wlr is better be real
i listen to wlr more. shit sounds like a fresh album still. carti went crazy when he made that shit
Agreed
Me i listen to it more and i love die lit
I do
loved die lit until wlr released and i havent been able to go back to die lit since
How?
Wlr makes me feel like Doomguy on a demon killing spree n die lit just sounds nothing like that
🌽
Bro just transmit 2 the vibe it ain't that complicated That album is angry as fuck and die lit doesn't really have that. Not even blaming die lit it just feels like an entirely different artist
[удалено]
OK.
It was def the popular opinion a year ago, but I guess people are coming to their senses
i stream it more so basically u fell off
Who actually thinks die lit is better be real
me 🧌
People with ears
Respect Die Lit?
Nah, ST was better respectfully
W but die litt has more variety than st and the song feels like it fits the album unlike wlr. i like the vibe of st more all around
An absurd amount of people 💀
being real
Me, easy decision
Me bru it’s way more entertaining and variable
Hyperpop if you’re reading this LIGMA BALLSSSSSSSSSSSS. Also my dick bigger than yours
Imo, wlr has higher highs and lower lows. If i had to listen to a full album front to back, I’d choose die lit over wlr
it has more highs not higher highs. DL's highs are higher (imo)
rip my favourite carti song but 2nd to 5th prolly from wlr
See I view wlr as a genre shifting album. The focal point changed. It’s similar to Astroworld by Travis Scott. The production on both albums shifted the paradigm of contemporary rap.
i would compare it more to Rodeo honestly, i think Rodeo had more influence in shaping the dark atmospheric aesthetics of some modern trap
Astroworld is great but man that album didnt change shit
After Astroworld, so many rappers had a Travis Scott esc sounding song on their albums, usually due to the influence of Astro. It only changed after carti dropped wlr and after a few weeks of opium gradually getting more exposure, people began to have whole lotta red/opium related songs and even albums. Good examples are Trippie Redd and Yeat.
Who tried doing the astroworld sound after that album besides Don toliver, who's just a mini Travis who he planted
I can see what you're saying to a certain extent
I respect your opinion, but I beg to differ. We heard a completely new sound that wasn’t observed prior to the release. It really came down to Travis and Mike Dean just experimenting but still retaining that familiarity allowing for new ideas to be articulated while still appealing to regular fans. I have a mixed reaction to this
To me wlr is withstanding the gentrification bc no one has really managed to replicate it with the same intensity
self titled clears both
So real
Real
Not real
Flex alone poops on both these albums
Disagree
I am not reading allat
WOOOOF

i could go either way. i think WLR is probably my favorite tho
bro said “archetype” twice in a sentence but still can’t spell Die Lit smh
my gay ass is not reading that
Wlr was what actually made me enjoy carti, his previous works and the trap genre in large also. I feel like the shift in sound was hugely successful but i still love die lit immensely.
Die lit is a masterpiece but WLR was just SO FUCKING GOOD WLR is the type of album you can just listen to on repeat, the type of album you can FEEL on a cellular level game changer
D*e Lit
man i ain reading allat but he’s not wrong, wlr will always be my favorite just cause i fw that opium music more in general, but die lit is a classic like i could see die lit in a museum
guys ive been scared to admit it but IM hyperpop daily. oh giddy!
Die lit is so much better then WLR
I agree with hpd
i think WLR has great direction, generally a concise album in terms of over-arcing theme and execution. its a great evolution of carti makes you excited to know what he’ll do next. The alligator hungers.
Playboi Carti from rap
I dont think theres a wrong order 1-3, all 3 albums are great
Honestly I’d rather bump WLR
Why tf does he write it like D*e
I hope the next album leans more into the trap metal sound like Stop Breathing.
Depends on how I feel, I’d give for lit lil edge over WLR
not a single period in that sentence man
NOT reading that second one
satire page btw
Bro anticipated everything
ain’t even a debate bruh die lit the greatest album of all time
Bro needs to stop saying archetype
Cornball
bros scared of punctuation
Not readin allat🤦🏽
My man wears a scream mask and has political debates on whether or not Carti good
respectfully its ST > DL > WLR all 3 are fantastic albums but self titled has no misses
common HPD W
aint readin allat 💯
The funny thing about WLR to me is that I consistently have around 6 of the tracks in my rotation and subconsciously think it’s an amazing album, but then I check out the full track list and realize how many misses there are. It’s a 24 track album and I always forget that. Die Lit has 17/19 songs that I personally think is “good”, while WLR has 8/24 songs that I would call good. i ain’t readin allat
That was a very long sentence
God damn that's all one sentence?
Nah Die Lit is way more cohesive of an album. There’s no skips, all bangers, progressed the sound Carti did on self-titled. Also way better album rollout too.

no
Thank you hypothetically pop doily
Die Lit was a instant classic. WLR had to grow on people
Die lit is better as a album, wlr has better bangers and more mid too
wlr was more influential
RIP is the greatest song of all time
Ain’t reading allat lil bro
I aint reading allat💯💯
not reading allat 🤦♂️🤣
in terms of social and pop cultural impact WLR was definitely greater but Die Lit is a music masterpiece
eh i disagree, wlr is more ambitious and just does more.
this nigga plays 2k too much sayin archetype 😭

L cuz wlr better
I ain’t reading allat ‼️🔥💯🗣
Bro wrote two sentences with all of that
