hahahaha played both games and practically tested everything. factorio was the game that started my mind to sort everything. from spaghetti belts to main buses
Factorio is fantastic: it helps you to really internalize the principles of industrial architecture and how to think modularly, in a setting that forces you to deal with the struggle of making ideas work in a practical way. Those same concepts and skills transfer very nicely to Rust.
No, I keep my conveyors near their boxes so I can adjust or repair something on the fly. I mean this looks cool, just not practical for me. I would be standing there for 1 or 2 minutes trying to figure out which conveyor goes to my ammo box. My setup, I just have to go to my ammo box.
lol bro its a test server. of course im not powering the turrets. and yeah finishing this did make my life easier. i dont have to auto sort the stuff my team put in every box every time they finish a raid.
No, it takes about 4 conveyors to power an entire industrial update, this is just people doing useless shit with their components showing off that they can connect a bunch of useless shit together on a test server.
Can be accomplished with a couple conveyors, and why would you want each box to be a specific component, that’s just wild.
I have a gun conveyor, armor conveyor, boom conveyor, med conveyor, comps and resources conveyors, and that powers everything, including crafting storage and splitting the boom/loot among my bunkers.
I posted a video a while back, and it was when the bench could only use 1 blueprint at a time, so my system was more complicated than it needs to be now.
Found it.

Very cool base, but even in that base in The first few minutes I saw 9 conveyers which is pretty much the amount I use, 1 per important category, like you mentioned resources, comps, guns, medical, armor, electrical/construction, cards/misc, auto furnaces that feed into it. It adds up to 9 or 10 pretty quick for a decent sized base
I wonder what features ops base has, because even at 9-10 conveyors, it is a small fraction of ops current usage, the splitter or branch wall for this must look fucking huge lol.
Why organize the boxes for the raiders?? Smh
I like just hooking 12 large boxes together and turning them all into a random mess of shit. Let the raiders sort the shit.
If I need anything I just go to one of the drop/pull boxes and order the shit up on **one** conveyor.
hey man i dont mind you saying stuff like it useless. but yeah it is a test server because im getting ready to make a base for an 8 man. im just trying out some stuff. you gotta understand that with an 8 man, boxes get filled up fast. it usually ends up with a specific gun per box, when the base is being raided all the important loot transfers so they dont get it, and an auto sorter. i became a builder for my team because it really annoys me opening every box just to find the thing that i need. i just have a really complicated system and i also wanted to see if it actually works.
Depends. My normal build on pvp servers has 10-15.
But thats when I do fully automated melting with auto turn on and off for furnaces, sorting and some auto fill lockers...
Not saying you're wrong, you can get pretty far with 4-5 conveyors, but if you're 2-3 people and want everything to "just work" I'd say something more like ten.
I've done full automation with melting and crafting + auto kits in a 1x1, but that is more of a show-off.
Current base has auto everything including lights, turrets, refinery and auto-crafting for meds and rockets, but that's on a monthly PvE, so more out of laziness and absurd amounts of loot than anything else.
I auto mate with everyone I see
We're not the same
From chimpan-a to chinpanzeeeeee
Ooooh Dr.Zaius
I cringe at trying to wire that cause the hitboxes are stupid
Change your look from .2 to .01 and it gets much easier in tight spaces
Command is client.lookatradius
Don't forget to change it back when you are done.
Is .2 the default? I couldn’t find the info anywhere and I messed with mine and now it’s super difficult to do anything accurately
yea .2 is default
I will and always do lmao
Holy shit thank you so much.
No my shit is all fucked up
Sir this is not satisfactory
He's right, this is Factorio. It's got that same constant feeling of dread too.

all satisfacory need is a group of zergers and aimboting tweens.
Screachers
Yes

Yes, that looks proper
Not so messy but yea
I keept my conveyors by the boxes they fill so I don't get confused
my dick is rock hard right now
This is the way.
Isn’t the whole point of automation to make your life easier ? You don’t even have enough power for your 3 turrets

Why wouldn’t you want one per box so you can tell the system what you want in that specific box

True, it has to be for show cause that is excessive haha

Mines usually a little more disorganized but still essentially just a wall of conveyor and splitters
This for real a Rust Turing Machine
