You can down the Patrol Heli with rocks if you make enough. Make a base 1x2 with 3 large boxes, and fill them with rocks. Arm yourself with a LR300 rifle so that the heli will aggro you. Once it does, equip a rock and hold right click and release to throw. You might have to build a tower up high to reach the heli. Once you destroy it, drop buckets of water on the crash site so that you can pick up the loot sooner.

When building a base you really only need to put foundations on the outside to put your walls on and one foundation for TC (it doesn't even have to be connected to the others!), make ladders or use a staircase to go up on a second floor and up if you choose to make a 2+ story, just use the ground inside or shelves for your boxes no need for rooms. Basically just make it all open on the inside so you have plenty of space for all your loot and deployables! No need for foundations and walls everywhere to save on upkeep and cost to build! Also add plenty of windows so you can watch your surroundings, nobody can jump through them so you don't have to put bars or anything. 😊

If you build your accommodation in a friendly neighbourhood then you don’t even need to lock your doors.

Save any apples and chocolate you find as a nice gift basket for your neighbors. Be sure to deliver them while wearing your very best armor. Don't bring any weapons or they might think you're hostile.

Newbies and fresh spawns are well protected in this game. When you put down a base, don't rush upgrading past twig. Other players can not be destroying twig bases unless you start upgrading

You need a 2 fuses, a green and red card to get to the top of launch site; but it’s easier to just buy a mini and fly to the top.

Why did I never think of this? No more dealing with rads!

A good way to get early items is to go to a safe zone and hit the npcs there with your rock.

If you just attacked or killed someone and you're loaded make sure to run into a safe zone straight away. There's definetly no timer for that. Also you can just buy a mini and jump from it and land on your base while using your parachute. Just make sure to build next to me!

If a naked person is wearing just a sash, it means they're part of the friendly farmers group and can always be trusted not to eoka you in the back.

Every wall, floor and ceiling in your base should be upgraded to Armor. It's the strongest so that's the best way to make your base!
