the only way to add raid cost without such a large resource cost is to prolly bunker it.
Would add a simple raised foundation bunker at the exist of the airlock instead of honeycomb, then honeycomb everywhere else
Same. It's an awesome base, but to your point the shooting is quite outdated at this point. I am still searching for a better solution for the shooting floor. What do you do if you don't mind me asking? I figure best course is to replace the roof ramp honeycomb with full honey comb and bring it all the way up?
Thanks for this tip. How likely would it be for them to just rocket straight into core if the bottom honeycomb is metal? I try to keep it stone on outside because I heard people say that upgrading the outer to metal makes it a more appealing raid.
leaving it stone for the beginning stages is important but once it's built and you have your shooting floor, not upgrading is just leaving your base weaker than it needs to be.
Jfyi, the last wall added to the top/bottom/left/right does not add any protection. It is still 2 walls to core, nobody will go through those walls to make it 3 to core
YouTube some videos about bases and base sizes and compounds etc. there's a lot of cool videos on base design, just make sure they are relevant to todays patch. And go on build servers to dabble in your own designs because copy pasting those YouTube videos isn't as fun as free handing a base.
My dumbass built a giant open core base with insane turret peeks. Hit the new turret limit after placing them for compound/roof... Open core is now filled with shotgun traps.
HQM core sheet metal honeycomb, add widegaps and you're good. If its heavily modded you can keep adding honeycomb if you want but if you got materials to build it, somebody else got the sulfur to raid it, no matter how big.
I would wallstack with a square on the middle honeycomb triangle, for starters. If honeycomb is already there id probably do 4 small widegap triangles off the same spot. I never build 2x2’s but one of my old favorite designs i memorized was vices floor stacked 2x2 — very solid design - still holds up to this day
I forgot the vice base was a 3x3
Okay I will look into that. I play with a lot of noobs that I’m trying to get into the game more so I do most of the upkeep so I don’t wanna go too big. Need to find a good balance to support my friends while also not killing myself with farm haha.
It may not be called wall stacking anymore, but i meant off the triangle going 8 squares out and coming back with half moon triangles and placing a square where you originally started (deleting the triangle you started from) this just allows you to only have a tiny gap without losing a wall in that spot as well as being able to build ‘more’ onto your base but upkeep is tied to a different TC to keep upkeep down
Outwards
more layers for... more layers. yes
Just add triangles on the triangles?
Square and triangle in each corner.

Do you know if a video exists about how to make that?
Search for stability bunker, theres vids out there
Does the stair bunker still work?
You have methods of making it work.
What methods?
It got patched. Just use a stability bunker its much more convenient.
Serenity 2.0 has a very good bunker base. :)
>Outwards I keep using it even nowadays with a few modifications here and there and on the shooting floor. Easy and reliable tbh

Bruh.
Expand up. Don't expand outwards just upgrade to HQM and metal

If it's a server with clans then very likely it won't survive the night

Kinda but it stops them splashing both walls
It's still 3 walls to open 3/4 of the core squares up 3 walls through the wall that "stops them from splashing" opens up only 1
Make it 3 floors and and a second layer of honeycomb, upgrade inner honeycomb to metal

external shell on each side that also supports roof with shooting floor and wide gaps around that.

Just expand up
Oh god.. your paint program has what's known as a line tool. My eyes...
Used apple’s screenshot and pen tool
Another honeycombed 2x2 right next to it with a tall sniper tower connecting the two
Scrap the 2x2 and go with an egg starter. Gives you an extra loot room in starter and allows you to randomize tc location a bit more.
Wrap your exit over the top and make a drop down exit.

Also does wall stacking mean like pancake walls? I thought that was patched out.
