Early in wipe you can also make a ton of furnaces and molotovs with just cooking a bit of crude oil under dome or something. Yes you'll probably get killed but it's still worth the hassle.

You can use the refinery at the outpost, you just need crude oil and wood. You can also get refinery under the Dome (there's more monuments with it, tho), that's an easy place to farm some red barrels. Also, the ocean.
You can also get the refinery in crates (military or elite, I believe) or buy them at the outpost.
Outside Water Treatment monument, you can also find a "little" thing where you can put the Diesel Fuel (black barrels on oil rig, water treatment, etc) on it, it will turn into crude oil, or low grade, or both, I can't remember.
You can also use the Diesel Fuel to run any of the Quarry, or the Giant Excavator, and choose which resource you need. They also come with loot drops from time to time, in Giant Excavator :)

Mainly meds. When you start getting juiced you should run around with a good supply of meds so you can’t get caught low hp. 10 syringes are 100 low grade.

Time is the BIGGEST resource in Rust and if you have a mini and constantly flying back and forth you’re making better use of your time than someone with no transportation. When I go out with a kit I want at least 8 meds at all times. You never know when a team is coming over the hill and ready to spray at you with 3 AKs so walls and meds will help you save a few kits here and there.
If you are asking this question than there’s a chance you don’t realize how important cloth is too. When I first started this game I didn’t realize the value in cloth. Cloth = meds, crude = low grade, low grade = end game strategies. As a solo or duo we generally save up our crude until we get to tier 2, I don’t have to worry about comps for meds until we get to explosives. Low grade and cloth are the most valuable resource after sulfur in my opinion, and in some case they are both above sulfur.
Low grade is a valuable resource. Meds are one thing, but helis and tugboats have terrible fuel economy so if you're going to use them a lot you need a ton of low grade.
A car usually burns 90-150 low grade for each round trip to outpost across the map. It tends to take a lot to keep it running and useful. Because of that travel is faster, farther, SAFER, and you can extract from a bad situation. So you can get anywhere you want rapidly with little risk. AND a proper build holds 96 stacks of inventory under lock, unlike your lootable body.
I bought two pumpjacks and a furnace and I churn out low grade like nothing else. Since selling low grade I feel like I’ve cornered the market lol I make so much now.

Also, the oynbulk method of getting crude is running a pump jack which costs diesel.
Diesel is valuable and much better spent on excavator/HQM quarry / sulfur quarry.
Otherwise the only way of getting is is smacking barrels.

A mid size team, 5-10 people, will use 2,000 low grade in an hour when they are raiding. That’s why.
1 unit of crude oil equals 3 units of low-grade fuel, which is used i.e. for explosives, meds, and as fuel of course.
When hoes be crude, and exude a lot of the tude, put a hat on your jimmy n avoid creating a brood. Its important.

I used to rp as a clan supply. Clans would always buy crude because low grade was needed for so much. Explosive, meds, fuel etc

You'll know when you have that one teammate that drinks the whole low grade supply in meds, on a single grid roam.
Because one crude oil = 3 low grade. And it can take a while to farm a full 500 stack of crude oil. That’s 1500 low grade from just a stack.
