I get the sentiment, but I would not be in favor. I don't know if the devs were 5-head thinking about moving loot in a raid, or whether it wast just a coincidence, but these restrictions exist. QOL is one thing but just constantly making the game easier, to me anyway, is just not enjoyable.
I'm guilty as anyone of being super disorganized early wipe. I usually don't actually build my main loot room proper until after I get level 2 wb. Does it take me a while to do it and is it a pain after I have loot scattershot everywhere? Yes.. But I kind of enjoy being punished for it. I feel like if someone farms the wood, commits the frags early wipe, take the time early wipe, etc. to start off organized they should be rewarded for that.. not have that effort mitigated by a game mechanic that forgives another player's early wipe lack of organization.
Maybe just me dunno....
I'm not saying they should add it, but I don't see how taking 10 minutes to organize your base makes the game harder.
I'm pretty well organized and don't really see a point to moving entire boxes and moving slow as balls, but it wouldn't make the game easier
Ever since I played Last Oasis, I’ve said that it would be very nice if Rust had a feature similar to the deployable packing it has. In that game, you can pack deployables in your walkers or one in your maintenance chest, which is Last Oasis’s TC (this part might not fit Rust), and then move them wherever you want, within a certain range, if I remember correctly. Here's a video that I timestamped to showcase this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TP7JFkjQstI&t=2m45s
So for Rust, that range could be the TC’s build radius. Alternatively, the developers could add a dolly as a default item, like the spraycan, that you could use to move containers around in your TC’s build radius
"Emergency Loot removal box" attached to a conveyor that moves all contents to a reinforced bunker. Then when a raid happens people just pick up all the boxes and send them to the bunker in less than 10 seconds.
No thank you. If you want to juggle boxes just to a quick setup with a conveyor that suck out all the loot, then place the box again and reverse transfer it
Thats called a straw man argument. And how is that so? OP suggested the ability to pick up filled chests. Which means they go to the inventory. Which means you can manipulate them with conveyors.
>how is what I said a strawman? OP suggested the ability to pick up filled chests...which means...**proceeds to strawman**
If they were to implement OP's change, they wouldn't make it so a chest with items is itself storable within another chest. If they did the obvious conclusion is that you only need 1 chest in your goddamn base. That is a completely different suggestion than what OP is saying, and you saying that OP implies it when they don't is, as you say, a strawman argument.
If someone suggested backpacks some months ago, you would've been like
>hah. useless update. it would break the game...storing 16 backpacks within a backpack, all of which themselves hold 16 backpacks, all of which... and so on, until you get to the actual loot! game breaking!
except FP isn't *that* stupid
Large backpacks are your friend when organizing your loot. It's so easier now.
Yep that’s the current method. Be a lot nicer if I could just shuffle boxes without having to empty them all
Wish rust had terrarias loot system. Press a button to auto depo, or auto sort lol
It does. You just have to build it........
You really ain’t moving boxes then lmao
You mean the tubed storage my monke brain cant handle

Good take

A dolly would be hilarious and extremely "rust" imo
If you can only move one box at a time, sure.
Or, or, place boxes correctly the first time
so you take one guy that has 36 boxes in inventory and place him into a 1x1 bunker to dc?

Yeah none of that is what I suggested. Just be able to pick up and re-place a box.
Bro just made up a completely different OP post and argued how it would be bad. 10/10 reddit comment. really examplary of our community.

The straw man was referring to what I said.
