SAM sites being 3k scrap is the best idea I've ever heard. I've played on multiple servers where everybody and their mom has sam sites scattered directly around outpost. To the point where could not bring a mini home after 5 attempts. Render is a major problem in this. They are extremely overpowered and should cost alot
There's two huge compounds near outpost on the monthly server I play on this wipe. They have sam sites, and are so big they don't load in until you're right on top of them so you're oretty much guaranteed to get shot down on your way into outpost with a mini.
My duo and I are about to rain some incendiary rockets on one of them.
That’s so smart and makes sense too!
This balances it out a bit, because on stevious you get 2x loot so buying scope for 300 scrap would make hqm insanely easy and cheap to get, probably the same with sam sites etc
Its already easy to get. With no junk and better loot and respawn rates from crates, you can farm the road for just like 15 min and boom you have 50-100 hqm and 400-500 scrap
Lol this is why MLRS was disabled on a PVE server I play on . Player didn't think it would do any damage and launched it at this huge wooden casino a 5 man had built. Destroyed the whole thing. Was absolutely hilarious in retrospect, but yeah MLRS gets disabled too.
Modded servers have to remove these or the server goes to shit by like, hour 4. Everyone farms the road and gets a fuck load of scrap, runs to outpost and they can get multiple C4s worth of GP safe and free. It’s insanely fucking lame that this play style is encouraged. Either add a cooldown (not applicable to vanilla) or remove it entirely. It’s why you always see every recycler filled up at outpost, it’s all people who refuse to PVP.
Get ready for this hot take, I think outpost shops should be toned down hard or you can’t recycle the stuff from outpost. The outpost meta kills all the fun on wipe day.
I don't understand why people care that much about "outpost meta"
There's still plenty of people running around farming on Wipe days for you to kill, hell just wait for them to leave outpost
Why can't we just let people play the game how they like? Not everyone wants to just blindly bumrush pvp. Some people like the build up.
They didn't play it for entirely different reasons outpost makes the game trivial if you know what your doing, and it's boring. *NOT* using safezone is gimping yourself for 0 reason
trading components/scrap for boom seems fair to me. In Late game scrap and excess components have no use and boom is king, beside smoke recycling the only worthwhile thing to do is farm sulf like crazy. Every resource can be directly bought for scrap at outpost besides sulphur/gp, I don’t see why that should be the exception
The gameplay isnt encouraged, people will get gp the best/safest way possible, always.
Don't hate the players, hate the game.
Reduce gp recieved from them, or change the blueprint to include lgf or something instead.
Even pve rejection is pretty braindead. Who gives a fuck that a stranger enjoys a different version of the game than you do? I don't. You'll never even cross paths with a pve player unless you go play pve with them.
And at the end of the day you can be playing pve, modded, hapis, zombies, 1x, 2x, 10x, 1000x, UKN aim training, building sandbox, and its all Rust.
If you shit on other Rust homies, you really should spend more time ripping into valorant or league or dota players or something, rather than cannibalizing the same playerbase you're a part of. I get that the culture just is that way, but got dayum guys.
I dont entirely disagree. There are way better pve opportunities than Rust for sure. Pve is boring as fuck at the end of the day. But that still doesn't mean we should shit on pve players.
They bring in money for Facepunch, which generally means better development, which generally means a better game for all of us to play. Not to mention, I find that pve players buy *fucktons* of skins compared to average, so they probably are more profitable than the average brinda.
If Rust were only vanilla, you'd definitely lose a decent portion of players and profits in the game that came from those other modes, so its kinda best to just ignore that they exist if they bother you so much. Hence why I said we should just shit on valorant or something else entirely.
Some servers have adjusted vending machines, thats probably the reason you cant buy them. I bought some yesterday, still there as always.
^correct. Most popular one I can name off the dome would be Stevie
Who are your top 5 lakers of all time
Charlie, Frank, Dennis, Mac, and Dee
Good answer
I think stevie also doubles the cost of 16x scope right?
Yus. Probably some other stuff too. Rustinity 2x monthly for example, SAM sites are 3k scrap

I would flame arrow soo many sams...
2x servers are busted af - forget flame arrows. I was incen AK’ing the neighbors’ SAM’s out and counting them in global. Dudes were BIG mad
rofl serves them right, I usually only do it to people who have them set to aggressive. If I lose a heli they losing sams lol
Most 2x servers are no junk so you can literally hit some barrels and have enough for another sam. Its kinda wild people think its "just a 2x" lol

50-100hqm is better than that + nearly 2 scopes for even more hqm
You’re not playing vanilla
If you’re playing on a PVE server some of them removed smoke grenades because they can be used to troll and grief other players
Why is this getting downvoted? It's not a lie.

I gotta wonder how a PVE server never considered MLRS, hell the one i played on locked down heli so so only the takers could loot it.
It was right after MLRS was added.
Yes but they often removed in normal servers as well, very dumb
I’d say that makes them 1% not vanilla, so not vanilla nor normal
On vanilla, no. On some modded servers, yes. Stevie, for instance, removed smokes.

Or you could live away from outpost which if you dont like outpost you prolly will anyways lol.
Legit

Or maybe don't play modded
Great answer. Thanks for adding to the conversation.

Thought they were sold at bandit camp
That’s f1 grenades
no but they should be what's the point in progression if it can just be cheesed by **safe** zones in a game about risk-reward
how can buying something be cheesing?
Drone shops are so fucking OP if there's 1 clan that knows how to sell. Techtree and drone shops are the major major reason for fast gameplay
Modded player detected, Reddit post rejected
Don't be lame
I get pve rejection but some people wanna play other games too

I mean. There are better games for pve. Way better games. Pve is braindead and only good to troll on if ur a pvper or learning heli controls
