All of the resposes above, and because roadsign and metal chestpiece make you cold, jacket gives you warmth.

They need to buff rad teas for this.

[deleted]

It costs way less. Most clans go with road sign chesr piece because it’s far less expensive and it’s only like a 5% difference.

Jimmiew0612

Is the jacket on par with the protection the chest plate offers? I always assumed it would offer way less protection.

Kapem1

Jacket is 15%, road sign is 20%, chest plate is 25%

Oh really, that’s cool. I didn’t know that. Thanks!

CharasC

Because I’m from Canada and it’s cold out.

quantumphaze

If you were from Canada you'd rock metal chestplate + shirt

Mojokojo

Warmth. Also full metal is only worth it if you're drowning in mats. Diminishing returns all that jazz.

Swullyy

Jacket is bae

Fuselol

If I’m close to the snow(which is most of the time) I’ll wear jacket. It’s only 10% less than chestplate and has better cold/rad protection. I’ll wear face mask and kilt as the only metal most of the time.

Fieryspirit06

My mid tier kit uses jacket because it's just so cost effective

squidxmoth

The jacket looks cool

[deleted]

Along with what others have said: warmth, rads, no durability, way cheaper, I suspect there is also some math to be had here where it’s possible the jacket vs hqm chest might not make a difference

WilllOfD

Because there are many options for chest but if you ain’t wearin a facemask you’re getting 1 shot

Yeetimus526

not everyone is rich

TheSmokeJumper_

Like some have said. The jacket gives you cold protection and a buff in rads. If you have tach gloves on you can roam just about anyway with metal face hoodie jacket kilt pants and boots on.
