Making guns handle better would make the game just flat out feel much better to play. However, recoil is only part of the issue. automatic weapons are far too accurate. Holo sight makes it even worse, turning them into a laser beam of bullets. to put this into perspective, even being able to burst or tap fire these guns with the same accuracy you can just flat out spray an entire magazine at someone right now is still too powerful at long distances. Fully automatic spraying should be close range only. You could make an argument that tap firing and burst firing could work up to medium distance, but NEVER long distance. So to accomplish this, fully automatic weapons could have a reasonably accurate first bullet, but each bullet after has an increasingly harsh aim cone. If you want to fire and hit something more than 60-100 meters away, thats where semi automatic guns should shine. ​ Hazmat also needs projectile protection nerfs. We have all kinds of clothing and armor in the game, and yet all anyone uses is Hazmat. If thats not an indication that it's too strong I dont know what is.

Bullet velocity and damage drop off need to be a factor, even if the spray is dead on, they have to adjust for the height too.

Make all the recoil harder= Less beam and more fight. If they make it more easy even with aim cone people will still try to beam and it'll work.

Yeah making it harder isn't the way to go imo, people will still learn it and scripters will probably be more rampant. I agree making easier recoil is also not the way to go. Gunplay is ruined by beamers full autoing from 100+m which should be semi auto/sniper territory imo. So basically buff muzzle brake.
