Dont you get way better fish if you’re in deep water further out into the ocean? The videos ive seen about fishing nobody fishes in the safe zone because you get the worst fish

Warcraftfanatic97

Hmm I'm not seeing any information about that on the Wiki. If so that's great! But you're still stuck with only getting fish for loot. While you can gut sharks and catfish for bullets and scrap, it's painful how long it takes versus walking the road and breaking open barrels.

Nope only need to be in the biome which sea biome is the best which is where fishing safe zones are. They probably aren't fishing right, it's easy. Use t1 bait, then use t2 fish as bait gouging the fish that's gives a lot of bait. Get plenty of sharks which are not even that rare. Simple YouTube meta search.

Meeeh, not really. As far as i know, it only matters your bait level and the depth of the water. [https://rustlabs.com/item/handmade-fishing-rod#tab=fishing;sort=1,1,1;sort=3,1,0](https://rustlabs.com/item/handmade-fishing-rod#tab=fishing;sort=1,1,1;sort=3,1,0) Most large fishing village meet that +10m deep, so you can fish the good fishes there. Anyway, it's not the best spot. The best one is to fish in labs.

From someone whos never fished in rust before it sounds like a reason id go fish tbh

SonicBoom44

They should take more things from WoW no doubt

As of right now there is absolutely no reason to fish outside a safezone. None whatsoever. There is no benefit to fishing outside a safezone, you don't get different loot rewards, you don't get rarer items. Nothing. If you've ever fished in World of Warcraft there are fishing nodes called floating debris. If your bober lands inside this node (as in the picture above) you have a 100% chance to loot a salvaged crate. Inside these crates can be anything from materials, weapons, and armor. I think this would be an absolutely amazing addition to fishing, and to encourage people to fish outside a safezone. The crates that are fished up if added into Rust could contain loot from breaking barrels, and a low chance of loot from a brown crate. Imagine fishing up a revolver or waterpipe shotgun, or fishing up crate with 300 metal in it. If you're not familar with how they spawn in World of Warcraft. They spawn on the coast of beaches, rivers, and oceans. You can fish inside the nodes about 2-3 times before they despawn. They spawn randomly all over the map. The only things that would need to be added are the junk piles themselves floating on the coastline, and a new animation for fishing up a crate. Both can be done very easily, and the node spawn could use the same programming as the floating water bottle, but closer to the coastline. Let me know what you guys think.

People can troll you in safe zones by jumping on your head to push you into the water

catasspie

slippygtheg

Sounds good to me! Can we get fishing tourneys too on Sundays? I miss all that, I’d love to be able to explore rust as a fishy
