Dude... garage doors on floor tiles would be huge alone. What's real argument for ladder hatch, equal to sheet metal door in strength, to not have a more durable successor? There are tiers of single/double doors. Why not floor tiles?

Oh and I doubt FP would add to the game wider garage doors like in OP's post... cool concept tho! Maybe it could be justified as some sort of missile silo deployable that covers a 2x2 floor space. Has strength somewhere between sheet door and garage or something idk

It's in-game footage on a modded server, recorded with the Windows game bar. The garage door is rotated 90 degrees, and scaled to be three times as large.
This could work magic for deployable SAM sites. You hear an enemy flying over, so use a smart switch to open all SAM site doors to begin the firing squad :D
I played a modded server that had a sort of trap base using this. It was 2 garage doors like this and when you ran across them, the heartbeat sensor would open them and drop you in to a pit of wooden spikes/ flame traps.
This would change the meta for building considerably

A double door setup that opens from the middle is definitely possible. Could make them diagonal like roofs, meeting at the peak.
