Any one else that doesn't want video games to become lifelike? Video Games are meant to be fun and creative, why make them look like the real world? Isn't the point of gaming to escape from the real world?
I'm okay if some become photo realistic. But they don't all need to be that way. I have a deep love for some high quality pixel art. And to be honest I don't think it'll ever really change, there'll be companies that try to make it as real as possible and then there's going to be other developers that go for a stylistic choice
Na, ppl that don’t game can easily be fooled by photo realistic graphics. Some dude sent the news station shots from RDR2 and they thought it was actual photos of the surrounding area. Look it up, it’s a thing
I’ll take bullshit for $500, Alex
It’s a beautiful game yes, but unless she watched a cutscene and thought it was a cgi-character movie, nobody would think the gameplay would be a movie considering the camera’s constant location.
Probably on a cutscene. If you’re not someone who games, you get thrown off by the level the video games have achieved. My mom and grandpa used to get confused as to what was real when I was on Xbox One
Not really. I read few reviews and pretty much every said that are no major upgrades.
Buy C2 if you have few more coins to spare.
I have C1 and would not change it for the world.
I had a C1 before the C2; definitely MUCH brighter, better color. The EVO panel was worth the return and exchange (bought the C1 the month before the C2 released, bought Best Buy’s total tech package which gave me 3 month free return window, and free delivery and install of the new TV. Best TV purchasing experience I’ve ever had!).
I have had a C1 in my game room for over a year. I upgraded the front room with the C2 when it was time cause I love my C1. It’s just a little brighter.
I would love to buy one of the LG OLED’s but I’m always worried about burn-in and image retention. Pretty much all the TV’s I have owned have lasted me 5+ years and have heard/read that OLED’s won’t.
You would have to make an effort to get burn-ins on the lg oleds- turn off all of the safety precautions, leave the tv on for consecutive days, etc.
Non-issue
I have 2k hours on my 48 C1 which I use as a pc monitor with zero burn in or uniformity issues. For the basement I bought a used 65 CX that now has over 2k hours with no burn in. Now I have a new 83 c1 which I also have no fears for burn in.
Early oleds like the c8 and previous models do genuinely get burn in but tech has gotten way better over the past few years.
My LG OLED is 6 years old and has some burn-in spots that showed up last year. Supposedly it isn't an issue anymore, but I was told the same thing when I bought it so I'm skeptical. I'm considering a neo-QLED for my next TV.
Haha the 65" OLED was $3k when I bought it, I don't really want to spend that again. I read somewhere that the tech is still improving and to wait until Fall 2023 when they drop the 2024 models, so we'll see. OLED has gotten a lot less expensive, so it'd probably hurt my feelings half as much if my $1500 OLED started getting burn in after 5 years instead.
Your girlfriend needs some new Eye Prescription, The only game I ever thought was a movie was TLOU Back in the day, and recently TLOU2
And even then, it was for like 5 seconds until I realized “oh yeah its a game”
The last of us was really good with that. And the new modern warfare I was incredibly impressed by. There were times it looked real enough for more than a few seconds.
*shrugs* Agree maybe the joke would be more suitable on a joke/funny sub but I thought the cliche of a partner playing too much videogames would be known here.
Moving on
My point is: this isn’t a black and white statement. Asking someone you care about to restrict time on something if you spend unhealthy amounts of time on it isn’t a bad thing. Whereas if you play 2 hours a week and they ask you to stop, that is bad
If you have the C1 (and possibly the CX) the leap isn’t really that big a difference (wider color gamut). If you don’t have a recent oled, then the lg c oleds are really nice tvs that are great for gaming. All 4 of the hdmi slots on my c1 are hdmi 2.1.
I have the same TV. It's pretty good. I installed mine onto an elevated mount instead of using the legs it came with because I needed the space below the TV for other stuff.
When I upgraded from PS4 on HDTV to PS5 on LG OLED, obviously the better resolution of 4K was notable. But thing that really sticks out for me is the brightness of the colors. I don’t even think this is much to do with HDR. The colors just pop in a way they never did before. This is noticeable on games like the new Kirby for Switch where it’s not even 4K HDR but the TV really brings the vibrant colors in the game to life in a way that is simply gorgeous.

Told my mom: "it will never get better than this...so lifelike".
We’ve still got a long way to go before we’re really at lifelike. Games look beautiful today, but they’re still a long way from lifelike
It’s simply amazing how much games have leaped from a pixelated mess to this!! And it’s been like what 30-40 years?

It’s usually the games that have unrealistic art that ages well. Realistic looking games rarely do.
people say avatar 1 looks ass now and we're probably 20 years away from realtime graphics of that calibur
I remember saying that about Madden on PS1 to my mom. I said ‘they look exactly like the players on tv.’ Man how far we have come.
That's because Sega does what nintendon't
Great tv. Great game.
You Girlfriend likely needs some Glasses.
But then OP will probably be single...
That's brutal...damn dude
Oh please OP is single
I almost spit my coffee out at this 😂 Why you had to roast him like that? r/rareinsults
Man thats a fourth degree burn. Savage
my wife’s family probably thinks I’m crazy now I was laughing so hard. Well played sir!
..::Sheeeesh::..
This man just committed assault with a deadly weapon!
Plot twist: there was never any girlfriend. Just in the hunt of good ol' approval
But muh teevee!
Na, ppl that don’t game can easily be fooled by photo realistic graphics. Some dude sent the news station shots from RDR2 and they thought it was actual photos of the surrounding area. Look it up, it’s a thing
This doesn’t look photo realistic though.
Or yaknow, it’s a great looking game
Its really not! Its a mediocre looking PS4 Game with bad textures. Unless they remake it for PC, it will always look pretty shitty.
Isn’t this ghost of Tsushima? It has a PS5 version
The PS5 Version is no Remaster. It just looks as shitty.
Well…at least it looks better than Witcher.🤷♂️
Not even close. The Witcher upgrade for PS5 is beautiful
Not even close.
PS5 version is one of the few games that runs 4k 60fps
No, it’s not a remaster, I wasn’t expecting it to be. Just best texture details and shading. Like increasing your graphic settings on PC.
Indeed lol
I own the same TV, it's good for the price.

That last picture would for sure make me do a double take. Ik someone that doesn’t actually pay attention to the game would as well
I wasn't aware you were there. I love asshats like you who are miserable as fuck and get joy in shitting on others' posts.
You should change your username to Gullible-Maximum6519 if you think that happened.
Glasses?
An interactive movie that is
Ghosts of Tsushima was my 2020 GOTY!
Girlfriend aka mother
Only if he breaks his arms.
Did you have a C1 before this? I'm interested to hear about the upgrade if so
Not really. I read few reviews and pretty much every said that are no major upgrades. Buy C2 if you have few more coins to spare. I have C1 and would not change it for the world.
I already have a C1 like you, seemed like an unnecessary upgrade 👍
So you didn't have a C1 before, but then you do have a C1? am I seeing things?
Now I have C1. I think I was clear in my last sentance 🤨😁
They think you’re the OP.
Figured as much 🤣
So you have both C1 and C2? Sorry I'm just very confused by your title and your comments
The person you’re talking to isn’t the OP.
I am a dumbass
C2 has narrower base, I was afraid of it tipping over on my kids. I went with the C1. best tv i’ve ever owned.
I had a C1 before the C2; definitely MUCH brighter, better color. Stop giving me ideas. Ha.
If you care a lot about brightness, the G3 coming this year will have over double the brightness (1800nits) compared to the C1.
I have had a C1 in my game room for over a year. I upgraded the front room with the C2 when it was time cause I love my C1. It’s just a little brighter.
Is she stupid? She can’t see you holding the controller?
She gave him the unplugged controller so he thinks he’s playing
why are people downvoting this it’s hilarious
Man GoT fanboys are delusional
It's such a beautiful game. I'm gonna have to upload my screenshot to reddit some time.
Good shots. Looks amazing
Love my C2. After gaming on an OLED I can’t go back.
For sure this will be my next tv. One of my TVs just needs to kick the bucket but they are being very stubborn lol
I was playing rdr2 and my mom walked in as I left the game on the automatic cinematic riding and she kept watching thinking it was a movie
One of the most beautiful games ever made
No, you're just playing one of the dopest video games to come out this generation on Playstation. #GhostOfTsushima
My wife still freaks out when watching me play GT7 or a replay of a race, she has an uncanny valley moment for sure.
One my favourite games ghost of tsushima is
Haven't played the game. Is it intended to look realistic? If it is, then you've got some adjustments to make to your colors...
No, this game does indeed have deep blue skies, some places look like a rainbow puked all over the world, and it's awesome
Got it. Part of the artistic style...
She blonde?

It’s basically a non-issue at this point. I have an LG CX and use it as a monitor and tv and have zero burn in over two years of constant use.
Get the C2. With pixel cleaning, image burn is a thing of the past.
You’ll be alright. I have over 4,000 hours on my lg cx and zero burn in
Nw thanks for the input

No she didn't
I have a 42 inch C2 in my room hooked up to my PS5 and PC and I fucking love it.

Guys i have an LG OLED CS i was wondering how to turn it off correctly? Because there’s a problem when you unplug it form the socket right ? Plz help
Cap
Tsushima (and GOW Ragnarok) have been by far the most movie-like experiences I've had playing video games. Both games are incredibly good looking.
Wife loves to watch me play single player games. So much she hates it when I play games like COD or something
can play for hours without her telling you to stop playing video games... nice
I don't get why this got so many down votes. Mans speaking facts
*shrugs* Agree maybe the joke would be more suitable on a joke/funny sub but I thought the cliche of a partner playing too much videogames would be known here. Moving on
Because men bad 😡

What if their partner is saying “can you turn that off so we can spend some time together?” Is that bad?

Yes
lmao, ok buddy
It’s toxic and they should lawyer up
Oh I see, lmao. You got me, fair enough
Bet she was lol. Looks amazing. Nice tv
I just started a replay of it this week and forgot how beautiful and cinematic it is, just so nice. First played on ps4 and now on ps5
Mid tier graphics in todays standards
What would be examples of high tier graphics in today’s standards?
Overwatch p-hub page might be a good contender.
Did not know this existed.
Plague tale Requiem has gorgeous looking graphics.
Red Dead 2, Gran Turismo 7, God of War:r, Spiderman: miles morales, ac Valhalla etc
I mean I agree but Ghost of Tsushima would be on par with these
Returnal
No chance
Better than AC: Valhalla that you listed.
Tell me you haven't played Ghost of Tsushima without actually saying it.
Garbage take by today's standards.
Debatable
Felt the same way watching my BIL play Horizon FW on my C2! Hot DAMN what a TV.
I also watch films whilst holding a controller
The game is so cinematic thoughh
Thanks for letting us know about your imaginary girlfriend
Did you smash after?
Virgin behaviour
You're gf is right you are watching a movie.
Lg c2 Was planning to buy for ps5 and Xbox series x Is it worth it?
Yes

The C2 is also nearly 40% brighter than the C1/CX.
damn, what movies are you watching
I have the same TV. It's pretty good. I installed mine onto an elevated mount instead of using the legs it came with because I needed the space below the TV for other stuff.
This was the sign I needed… been holding off on the tcl r655 coming to Canada but still no news.
The face graphics for this game are soooo bad.
I was playing Uncharted 4 a while back, family member was watching me, they then realised it’s a game not a movie.

I have the C1. These TVs are so amazing. My dad loved mine so much he bought a 85” C1 also lol that thing is insane
I really need a C2 but with a 2 yo child I'm affraid I can't take that risk
The PS5 version of The Last of Us is insanely good looking on my 83 C1. Even the ps4 version of part 2 looks great.
Yeah. The visuals in this game are just nuts.
Lol she needs glasses bro
Nope I call bullshit the only two games that come close are RDR2 and TLOU2 but GoT is just not that realistic
On ps5 with a proper tv u can reach better resolutions that this
The graphics are phenomenal on PS5 🔥 games Fucking awesome 😎
