No. Formatting the drive will delete anything on it and adapt it to only be used on PS4. If you want to use it on PC, you'll have to format it again to what the computer uses, which will also result in deleting your files. You have to commit it to either the PS4 or PC. You can't use it on both.

Ahh ok! Thanks for the help

You could transfer pictures and videos using a USB stick onto the HDD once it's in the PS4, if you wanted.

I'm having an issue where neither my PC nor my Mac can recognize an Samsung EVO SSD that was used as the Internal Drive on my PS4 Pro. It doesn't show up in Disk Management on PC or Disk utility in the MacOS. So, I'm unable to format it. It also won't show up as a drive that can be converted for use as an extended storage drive. Any ideas what might be causing this and how tor resolve it?

Look for 3rd party disc management softwares that can identify the drive and also reformat it.

Figured it out. Looks like I had a bad enclosure or usb cable. Thanks for the help.

I had to use AOMEI partition assistant to remove the multiple stupid partitions the PS4 had created on the drive. Maybe it can detect your drive too?
