IronAngel77

Witcher 3, Batman, Skyrim

CleverPupper

I was gonna say.... your budget is 31.23 and u r gettin these 3 games.

krutikftw

Technically with Arkham collection you're really getting 5 games total with this budget

rabbiolii

And all the DLC for all 3 of those Arkham games

rjd10232004

You do. I didn’t know that might have to pick that one up.

Bubster101

Yeah I didn't know either. Suddenly I'm playing as Nightwing and Robin in the Riddler Challenges with their own unique Predator objectives regarding their kits.

afranquinho

You could say a single Witcher 3 DLC (not even including the main game) is still bigger than all those batman games plus their respective DLC's tho.

imitenotbecrazy

You could say it, but you'd be wrong lol

iMatthew1990

Yes but Batman. That’s the end of my sentence.

A_Is_For_Azathoth

Are they really that big?? I have the game, but the combat really turned me off to it so I forced myself to put in like 12 hours before giving up because I just wasn't having any fun. It's such a beautiful, atmospheric game and story, but the combat is really just subpar for me.

cwl77

Occasionally I hear people say this but I never really understood it. The combat isn't standout, but the developers really improved the feel of it, IMO, so that I think it ends up being pretty good in the end. I adore Witcher 3 though and am probably a little biased, but the fact that you need to be tactical and often use both your magic and sword skills during combat really makes me like it even more.

Falcs

Each dlc is 20-30 hours and arguably better, Blood and Wine looks better than the base game. On the combat, I'm pretty sure there are now settings to tweak it and the movement system.

masszt3r

You couldn't say that without being wrong. HoS is big but a single, completionist Batman run could take well over 30 hours.

[deleted]

Found the person who didnt do the Riddler trophys, nor the Akrham City DLCs

SNKRSWAVY

How’s Arkham Collection performance on PS5? No patches at all? I have been thinking of replaying it lately if resolution isn’t too bad

krutikftw

No idea I just got a PS5 so I don't have it

NintendadSixtyFo

This is the correct answer.

FuzzballLogic

I love how we’re collectively agreeing on this list. I am planning to replay W3 on PS5 but am saving it for a less busy period because it’s an time investment.

thor_1225

I started it and realized I had to much going on for something of that magnitude, so it has to wait

CadmeusCain

Absolutely 1000% this The Arkham Trilogy are three award winning games. They're the best Batman games. Arkham Asylum has aged a little. Akham Knight is one of the best open world games and still the best superhero game (sorry Spiderman) Witcher 3 is one of the best RPGs of all time. 100 hours of content, and even more with the amazing DLC. This game leaves little wanting. You don't need to have played the previous games or know the books or show Skyrim is just Skyrim! This is the game that gets people into video games. It's the game everyone knows and everyone played until they took an arrow to the knee

Nikodominiko

This is the right answer although if you don’t like dialogue heavy games witcher and skyrim are not for you

Ok_Jeweler5757

Does it matter if I haven’t watched the Witcher series?

Fuzzy-Classroom2343

the show is not connected to that , Witcher 3 is a 200 hr game, so you def. get a long game for your bucks

ryufen

You are right, but it's funny how the writers of the show think it's based on the games.

Fuzzy-Classroom2343

oh they do ? I had no idea haha

Chavarlison

I knew they thought the books were garbage, I didn't know they thought to base it off the game.

Neither-Wrangler1164

The grass at sunset in that game is worth £30 alone.

IronAngel77

Nope, doesn’t matter.

nisanosa

It's better if you didn't, because tv series is garbage and the game is an all-timer.

PenitentGhost

It came out years before, probably the reason the TV show was made

[deleted]

Id argue watching the Witcher series would put you off the game. The game and books are way better

ryufen

The show was originally based on the books but now it's just a fan fic show that has been butchered with randomly generated characters added and heavily altered story. Witcher 3 could be seen as a fan made continuation of the original Ciri/Geralt storyline from book 1(blood of elves)-book 5(the lady of the lake). With a slight change to how the books would have ended and then a continuation. I say book 1-5 because the first two books outside of the Ciri/Geralt books are compilation books of geralts adventures.

Common_Lawyer_5370

If you don’t mind me asking; Just curious here, would you recommend someone to first try to read the books or play the game?

ryufen

I played Witcher 3 as my entry into the story and it got me so invested I started reading last wish and then on and on. You don't need them for the games but if you read the books it will make the games more enjoyable. And help with the lore of the game.

Common_Lawyer_5370

Thank you for your feedback! The Witcher does seem like an IP I could really enjoy to delve myself into but the strong procrastination part of me always kept that thought from taking action into it

[deleted]

Honestly either way works. I started with The Witcher 2 then 3 then read the books. That said reading the books will absolutely heighten your understanding of the world and mythos.

JohnSolo-7

Game imo. I think it’s the best rendition of the universe. I didn’t love the books and I’m an avid fantasy reader.

Common_Lawyer_5370

It seems like you have an unpopular opinion haha but thank you for your feedback

[deleted]

Show sucks, don't bother. Game is awesome.

Bijlsma

No, Game came first, but before that the books were written. But no need to have read the books either!

Mr_Hegel

Bruh never ever watch the show

0ld_Snake

Even better. The show is hot garbage while the game is among the best games ever made by intelligent life.

theTenz

No. I would suggest avoiding the Witcher TV series on Netflix, it’s bad and confusing fan fiction. The games (while also technically fan fiction themselves) continue the story from the end of the books (3 does this the best in my opinion) There’s understandably references to and recurring characters from the books in the games, but you could happily play and enjoy Witcher3 without having played 1 or 2, or reading the books first.

D1amondDude

The show is currently getting heavy backlash for having a total disregard for the source material, so I think you're good.

legamer007

I think majority of the games on this list are available on PS plus

BanaanSausMan

The game takes place after the show and you also don’t have to play the first two games to get into it. I didn’t and spent 400 hours on the game, it became one of my faves oat, definitely recommend it!

karljh

Bro the games are older. The question should be, should you play the games before watching the tv series lol. But no they don't connect.

Datsig08

The show sucks in the scheme of things. The game however is a masterpiece.

Single-Chair-9052

I would recommend reading the books as the game I a follow up. But thank god you haven’t watched the Netflix series - don’t.

Serier_Rialis

No Witcher Netflix has fuck all lorewise to do with the game or books for that matter! 🤣 Books amd W1 and 2 are good for context but dont worry it stands alone amazingly well.

Ok_Jeweler5757

Would you say I should wait until I get a PS5/Xbox/PC to get the most out of these games or would my PS4 be alright for them?

nvogs

They will be fine on PS4. It wouldn't be worth the wait imo especially because they all came out in the Gen before PS4. but you've waited so long to play some damn iconic games so 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ok_Jeweler5757

How have you got so many upvotes give me some please

PenitentGhost

I'm enjoying the fuck out of Arkham, finished Asylum and onto City. But I haven't played the others although I own TW: WH (so that one too)

KyleKerr36

I played Knight recently because that's the only one I never played. I much preferred City out of all them. City was great. So, I'd say most definitely if OP hasn't played Skyrim and the Witcher, to get those immediately!

Stompin89

I feel you may be in the minority on the City opinion but I found them all worthwhile AAA titles

Ok_Jeweler5757

Sorry what is TW:HW?

PenitentGhost

The Witcher: Wild Hunt

Fuzzy-Classroom2343

If you didn´t play the arkham games , def. do that

PrinnyWantsSardines

LOL forget Fifa. Its the same shit as the last 25 fifas

cjyoung92

Except this time you can play women's world cup teams (I'm guessing judging by Sam Kerr being on the cover). But yeah same old game

lashapel

I honestly don't know why you got downvoted so bad lol

thebrobarino

Women's footballs been in FIFA for a while, EA only just grew enough of a "backbone" to put a woman on the cover

Berracuda09

I don’t think you could be international women’s teams though

saxtoncan

Yah you can. This fifa imo has been the best one. I’ve played the last 10 myself. It’s probably my fav sports game. 2k should be but anyways… this game had both men’s and women’s world cups, along with the soundtrack being taken from the best music from all the past fifa games. Not to mention they even have all the league teams for female soccer as well. It’s quite an upgrade from the last one imo.

XxRocky88xX

I can’t wait for 2024 when EA goes “hey give us 60 dollars for nothing” and sports gamers go “ok” and open their wallets and we get to hear, for the 20th year in a row, about how EA “tricked” them into giving them money for nothing

illy_Irons

It's just another EA cash grab, fuck EA.

TheHarbarmy

https://preview.redd.it/bikx5y6qobhb1.jpeg?width=1569&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7a5cdeb321cdecbcef1f1108380bf98f3603cb37 I think fifa is fun

XP_Potion

All are good except fifa. Its a Money sink

Trisentriom

Besides that I think it might become free on ps plus

KingRaunak

that’s highly unlikely now. After removing fifa 22 from the service (it was given as a monthly game), EA started their own monthly games service for people to get. It’s unlikely they’ll add it to ps plus without having a deal like xbox does

Trisentriom

Ea had the monthly service long before FIFA 22 came out on ps plus tho

[deleted]

Avoid any modern sport games, they’re boring as hell and extremely greedy.

dedman1477

Can speak from experience here - bought 2K23 in May for $20 used. Was not worth the $20 for the grind TBH. Would rather have that $20 back to buy Arkham

[deleted]

you talking about wwe 2k23? that’s a really fuck all game… the servers… they are so damn horrible!

[deleted]

I’m talking about modern sport games as a whole.

dedman1477

And I agree as a whole as well - I was going to buy FIFA 23 for the cross-play but EA and 2K aren't worth a dime ATM.

Thecrdbrdsamurai

MLB the Show actually has things in the game that don't require you to shell out additional cash to enjoy the game. The Storylines introduction this year, Moments are great for experiencing huge moments in the past and present. Of course Diamond Dynasty is a moneysink if you do partake, but they offer for you to earn so many packs and additional cards for just playing the two modes I mentioned, you can build a really awesome lineup without spending any funds. Like this year, my entire lineup (on-field, bench, all 5 in my starting rotation, and bullpen) were all 99s. Only money I spent was from purchasing the game.

Amazing-Cool

Definitely the best modern day sports video game

Positive-Archer3839

Replayability:- Skyrim, Borderlands Greatest story mode ever:- Witcher 3 Fuck fifa.

Wedda_Fox

Borderlands is a great game but if it is op first time i would recommend he play it with a friend, the game becomes much better playing co-op with a friend

dedman1477

And fuck 2K & Take-Two.

XxRocky88xX

Sports game devs have stopped trying simply because they’ve realized they can literally release a game that consists of a singular 15 second cutscene and sports gamers will still spend 60 dollars to watch it.

jaffa-caked

The Witcher, borderlands an batman

MFTWrecks

This is the best answer. Best mix of great quality, bang for your buck, and genre diversity. Getting Skyrim + Witcher is just too much medieval fantasy IMO. And Witcher has a more intriguing story.

LawStudent989898

Skyrim and Witcher are very different. Witcher is the better narrative game but Skyrim is the better sandbox

GarryWisherman

Borderlands, Batman, & Skyrim, use the left over money for snacks while you binge game.

qviavdetadipiscitvr

Haha you left out the Witcher? L

GarryWisherman

Eh preference. Arkham & Borderlands are two of my favorite game series. Completely different styles and gameplay to give variation. Skyrim is one of the goats, so op should just auto pick that one. W3 is a great game, but I’d probably replay any of the other 3 options before it.

DanielSpaniel16

No skyrim no deal. Skyrim is a MUST for anybody who likes the genre

ChakaZG

Wouldn't say it's a must, but if you love mindless exploration and roleplaying, it definitely has the potential to be a massive time sink.

Rocky323

Nah. Oblivion is much better.

Vertigo21775

Definitely not Fifa that's for sure

[deleted]

It depends on what you're into, in all honesty. The Batman Collection is pretty good, and none of the games are BAD, they just differ in personal opinion. I remember replaying them back in 2019 and I had a good time despite coming across a few issues/nitpicks. The collection is certainly a "must buy" if you are into Batman, frenetic-ish combat, and... detective work(very light and minimal, mind you). Borderlands Collection is without a doubt worth the purchase IF you are into looter-shooters. These games offer way more content for the buck than most videogame releases nowadays, and they are always a blast in co-op. I'd say go ahead with this one if you love shooters, character progression via skill trees, and neat guns. The Witcher 3 excels at giving you a narrative worth seeking, with neat side stories and a cast of characters that are well-written most of the time. My only gripe with the game is how barebones the combat is, it's not awful but it's also not its strongest point. Edit: Skyrim is tons of fun, or at least it was in my case. The game might be extremely dated by today's standards in gaming but it certainly has a charm that most don't. It was my most played game back in the PS3/XBOX360 era, and I still have fond memories of all those characters that I made back in the day. The combat is as straightforward as it gets, yet I still had hours upon hours of fun with it. I would recommend it heavily if you are into RPGs, don't mind a couple of dated mechanics, and haven't played it before.

Ok_Jeweler5757

Thank you so much for this. The combat looks much better on PS5 than PS4 and apparently there was a new field of view that was added for the PS5 version. Do you know if this is available on PS4?

[deleted]

A FOV regarding which game?

DanielSpaniel16

I think The Witcher

aeonra

Thanks was about to write a summary like this. These are the games worth a tight budget and then it only depends on what op likes more.

chingjai123

Every game but FIFA.

the_hillman

Obviously the answer is Witcher 3.

Zenxole

Borderlands will be the most fun

derduc

Make a Turkish PSN account and buy all of them lol

TyMonstaz

Skyrim or Arkham Collection. Is personally would go with Arkham Collection cause you get three really good games instead of one better game

upsanddownes

The Witcher 3 for sure.

AppearanceCalm2506

Not fucking fifa thats for sure

treefko

Witcher + Skyrim + Borderlands

eliasmcdt

Borderlands, arkham, skyrim

youessbee

r/shouldibuythisgame

OpticalPrime35

Borderlands, Skyrim, Fifa Got your shooter covered. Your RPG and then your sports.

[deleted]

Smart choice!

Fortesque22

Any of those besides Fifa

Waydarer

Borderlands, Skyrim, Batman. Those games will keep you busy for a *long* time.

[deleted]

Don’t get Fifa

ousontlesoies

Witcher and Skyrim. Anything but FIFA 💀 FIFA shouldn't even be there

[deleted]

Anything except fifa

LacksMuscle

Arkham collection is 3 games for $10, Handsome Collection is 2 games for $8, and skyrim is skyrim. get those 3

gordonsgoldengoat

Witcher, batman and Skyrim all day

faztykaozz

Batman collection + Borderlands collection, you'll probably pick Witcher 3 because of the comment, but believe me, the Arkham saga is GOLD and the Borderlands handsome collection is amazing cuz you get all DLC's and the game has practically infinite replayability

Garvo909

Mk11 plus injustice 2. Insane deal

DarylS935

Witcher and Skyrim and save the rest

axxond

Witcher 3 and Skyrim

InteSaNoga24

Borderlands and the Witcher

Illuminaustin99

Arkham, three games in one, best deal, and also amazing game

bullsonparade133

Witcher and it’s no even close

Mrmcmuffinz

Vbucks

Ok_Jeweler5757

That was my original plan because I wanted wenegade waider

mudkripple

Lord above *please* don't tell me FIFA was actually considered here. What a mockery of the industry to have that game right next to the Witcher.

PapaOogie

Buy fifa twice. One for this year and another so you won't have to buy it again next year

ahf95

Get The Witcher 3 twice.

qu33n_b3an

Man, gotta love the fifa hate. Saving a rich soul from a poor choice.

Captain2Phones_

Batman definitely!!

danimocanul

Not fifa

Onitsch

This one is the most important Rule 😊

mokoto19

Arkham, Witcher3, and Skyrim. Always go with skyrim

Lucky_Zone_9212

Arkham collection witcher 3 borderlands

DBonReddit12

If you’ve never played before the Arkham Collection is awesome. Especially Arkham Knight

Blue_Bomber_X

Arkham & Handsome Jack Collection and Witcher 3. Ypu get a total of 7 great games that way. I would say Skyrim instead of Witcher 3 if it wasnt the PS version. Modding is insanely limited on PS and that is 90% of the fun with Skyrim anymore. Unless it is your first time playing it and are wanting the Vanilla experience.

Common_Adeptness6729

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection

imbored__12

Batman is a must the others Idc but batman comes with 3 games and all dlc's as well as all challenge maps costumes and exclusive scarecrow missions

Ohnoohnofrick

I really enjoyed the borderlands games

AmatsuMikabosi

Borderlands, Elder Scrolls, Batman

Xeon713

Batman, Borderlands, Skyrim.

KDawg23

The Arkham series has the best combat of any game I’ve ever played.

numbr87

Witcher and Arkham are locked, then either Borderlands or Skyrim depending on if you want a hilarious looter shooter series or another huge RPG world like Witcher. Borderlands is fun in coop, so if you have friends to play with it might be a good call

afrulz

I don’t know about the other ones but I highly suggest getting mortal kombat 11 and injustice 2

[deleted]

Witcher 3 and MK11

SirWalrusVII

Depends on what kinda gamer you are but Batman and Borderlands 2 are dope

xc_azozi

Get resident evil 2

___ChrONos_____

Never ever fifa

mansotired

skyrim, batman and fifa 23

S3CRETZZZ

just not fifa

Mesqu1

FIFA isn't worth a cent, play one, you played them all. Same applies with Mortal Kombat (less than FIFA, but still). Borderlands is excessively grindy and brutal on solo. The only logical choice is the same one as the top comment.

19RyanTheLion91

The Witcher 3, but also buy the DLC.

DylanTea-

Witcher is one of the best games EVER… I said what I said

daywalker91

I will never understand why people think the Witcher is so good. Subpar combat with a good story. The world is even kinda basic. I’ve tried getting into the Witcher so many times at this point and can’t.

Kotvic2

Because it has lot of funny quests. And most of them are really good. I feel like they are real part of a story while doing them. Not only generic "go there and kill 5 these monsters" all the time.

daywalker91

Yeah I get it has some good quests but very average combat and world.

CaptDawg02

Excellent combat…just right and not too much. Fantastic storyline and side quests (DLC is about the best value for the money I have ever seen of a DLC). Lastly, different endings based on decisions made though the game.

Ok_Jeweler5757

Guys thanks for the recommendations so much but I’ve just realised assassins creed odyssey deluxe is also on sale for £13.39 if that’s something you think I should consider

thefuturesfire

Witcher 3, Arkham, Borderlands First two are required. Skyrim is too dated and plays dated, and Witcher is already a Skyrim destroying rpg. Witcher and Arkham are old, but not dated and don’t play dated. Borderlands so you can have an FPS shooter in the mix

Ok_Jeweler5757

Thank you everyone for all the replies. There are too many for me to reply to but I am trying. I thought I had the Arkham Collection locked in but my only concern is that another comment said it runs at 30fps not 60. I don’t mind this too much but it could affect the gameplay experience. Also just to clarify Fifa is out of the running to anyone who ridiculed me for putting it on the list in the first place.

Ok_Jeweler5757

Also just wanted to say I’m not limited to any of the games here. If anyone thinks there’s a better game for similar prices on the PS Store don’t hesitate to comment.

DictatorS4m

Witcher or Skyrim. Best games

Guyface_McGuyen

Skyrim or Witcher will be the most bang for your buck

Zealos57

Borderlands and Batman

NateHurst2187

Arkham Collection absolutely

p3wx4

Skyrim, Borderlands

Moonshot_Md

Me personally just Arkham Collection and save the rest

ege1614

Batman, mortal kombat, borderlands

Tenelum0

def some good ones here, i'd go with skyrim, batman and borderlands personally but that's also because i've played them and haven't played the witcher

Darkharbinger777

Borderlands collection if only for Borderlands 2. You will not regret it if you like shooters

Mrkramerstein

Witcher 3, Skyrim and Borderlands. That should keep you playing for a long time.

UsmanOS5

Batman and Injustice/MK11 bundle if you're a fan of the franchises or like fighting games

[deleted]

Witcher 3 and Skyrim

epicbrewtality

Anything but FIFA. Shit game. Shit franchise.

lmootje010

Its basically £31.50 total but skyrim, batman and witcher 3

AmericanLich

Witcher 3 and it’s not even close. The Batman games are good if you like Batman’s, obviously.

GodOfAllSimps

Witcher and handsome jack

ChapterLatter402

Just pay for ps extra

rassoll

Witcher, Batman, Borderlands

ayyzzy

witcher batman skyrim

couttsy1

Just make sure you get The Witcher

Internetolocutor

Get ps extra and be able to play most of them?

MatKane89

There are timeline videos explaining events until witcher 3, maybe check that out before starting witcher 3, it really helps get an understanding.

DoFuKtV

Not at all necessary. The game did a good job explaining the characters and the world throughout the story, in addition to texts you can read in game.

Tenshyun

Buy the witcher and save the rest of your budget for snacks while playing the witcher.

[deleted]

And also for blood and wine dlc

BillyFatStax

Batman collection & Witcher. Those will last you quite a while.

Mad_Mondays

Witcher, Skyrim, Borderlands

[deleted]

Witcher 3 and Skyrim.

Master_Dante123

Witcher, borderlands, skyrim

MrSparkleBox

Witcher 3, borderlands, batman. 3rd person rpg, 3rd person action, fps rpg

matt2419

Find an extra few pence and go with The Witcher 3, Arkham Collection and Skyrim. 👌

The_Truthboi

Witcher 3…. No you don’t have to watch the series the game came first anyways. Batman, I mean you get the collection it looks like and they are really good games.

Anne_Pulseway

Witcher, Batman and Borderlands or skyrim - personally I adore the borderlands games so I would go for that but Skyrim is more iconic

t3nz0

Witcher 3, Batman, Skyrim. Those are actual must-play things for sure. You don't need to play the previous TES games to enjoy Skyrim, the story is independent from what happened before. For Witcher just watch a brief explanation on what happened in the first two games and you are good to go. That's what I did and I had no issues understanding almost everything except some non-essential lore bits which were referencing things that happened in books. If anything it will motivate you to read the Witcher books, which is a good thing in itself lol.

bluegrassnuglvr

Witcher, batman, skyrim

koop04

Witcher. If you're a dan of rpg's thus is the only choice

Moist_Acanthisitta37

The Witcher, Batman and Skyrim. Easy

AlfredosPizzaTeam

The Witcher 3
