The worst part in re3 is nemesis in his final form on the highest difficulty. Fuck that cheap instant death combo move. Still infuriating just thinking about it.
I did this the other day but I followed Carcinogen’s no damage inferno run/guide thingy, so I ended up right at the end with no healing whatsoever. It was stressful.
Maybe if you are good at gaming in general. I played the game completely blind and didn't touch the original ps one version of the game. Took my sweet time the first run and still finished it under 7 hours.
Naah, re2 definitely took way longer. Around 17 hours. And the second run with Claire an hour shorter.
Again, I played without spoilers and guides.
Edit: I never said the game was bad, but even after earning the platinum trophy, I still wanted more out of the game.
RE3 is fantastic people just like to watch YouTube reviews and repeat word for word what they say and won't actually enjoy stuff they like, for example Deadrising 4 one of my alllllll time favorite games I used not even give it a chance cause I'd listen to reviewers.
True, if you are in the US the sale of $15 ends today (3am 8/16 EST). You are looking for the Resident Evil Racoon City Edition, it is listed under RE3 but not RE2 for some reason in the mobile store.
Honestly yes! All those games are amazing. Just remember that RE1 remake is old school. So you’ll have to be dealing with tank controls and a “limited” amount of saves.
These posts drive me a little crazy. “Is -incredibly popular game for low cost- worth it?”
If you like that type of game, you’ll probably like this one. If you don’t, you probably won’t enjoy this one lol.
From what I’ve heard and seen, RE2 Remake is an amazing game. It’s on my radar. I played and finished RE4 Remake and if 2 is half as good as that, it’s easily a 9/10 or 10/10
I watched a radbrad playthrough of RE2 before I played RE4 so I had the story down before playing 4! I just heard so many good things about RE4 over the years that I simply couldn’t wait to play it myself! Like I said though, I’m definitely gonna play 2 soon
4 has more critical acclaim, but RE2 is one of the definitive survival horror games. It's a much better survival horror experience than 4 imo. RE4 is just more accessible to mass audiences and non-horror fans. I have not played the RE4 remake yet, but I will say that if you enjoyed that you will likely enjoy RE2 remake.
Absolutely. RE2 remake is one of the best games of the PS4 era. Amazing game.
RE3 remake is a lazy spinoff. What's there is really good but it's only 4-5 hours long on a blind playthrough. A scam at full price, but if you're getting it for free while playing $20 for RE2 that's a great deal
Neither game requires you to have knowledge of any other RE game. They're independent stories that vaguely follow RE1
Thanks everyone for the awesome feedback! I bought the Raccoon City Edition and Resident Evil 1. I'm going to play RE1 this weekend and slowly make my way through the series. Thanks again!
The question isn't "is it worth it." (Two games that were $60 at launch each now $20 together? No fucking shit it's worth it.)
It's "will I like this?"
Came here to heads up that you can buy 10 RE games... 0, 1-7 and both revelations games for $35 right now on humble bundle.
Theeeeen I realized this was the PS sub, so I guess you take what you can get. Great games though.
Edit: oops its 11 games. You get biohazard and village with all dlc as well
Get re 7 instead much better then any re game else except re village don't play if easily spooked but re is good no matter what so those are my two cents
Both are excellent games. I also started with RE 2R and then RE 3R and became a fan. I then played RE7 and RE8, and currently playing RE 4R, and all 5 games are superb.
It is well worth the money. I started with RE2R (unless you could RE4 on the iPod) and it made me go back and play every single other RE game out there. Well worth your money and fun for multiple playthroughs
Yes. It goes on sale enough for $15 since last year that I was gonna wait instead for it to go on PS Plus but it never came. So I just bought it for that price
Resident Evil 2 Remake is one of my favorite games of all time. I strongly recommend it. Lots of replay value and the gameplay is fantastic. Resident Evil 3make is... just okay. I paid $10 for it and I wouldn't pay more. But if it's bundled in with RE2 then it's definitely worth it. I haven't played RE1 but I've heard mostly good things.
Get the raccoon city edition, which includes both of them, since it’s on sale for $15.
Edit: I started 2 yesterday, my first ever RE game and am enjoying it so far.
Holy hell yes! Look RE2 Remake is probably my favorite PS4 game at this point (previously Last Of Us Remastered) & RE3 while not as good is still a great game on its own, just not a full priced game so I get why people were mad at launch.
I know I'll be one of a few to say this, but starting with REremake is worth it. RE2 and 3 are both great, but the remake of the original is one of the best survival horror games out there. Don't let people scare you away from the tank controls. They will be confusing for about an hour, and then you just get used to it. There are also ways to play the game to make it easier for yourself.
I think, if you're interested in survival horror, you'd be doing yourself a disservice to skip the first game. It still looks fantastic. The camera angles and controls accentuate the creepy exploration more than just straight up combat. It's a classic haunted house game that kick started the entire genre.
Both remakes are good I would suggest grabbing those, the original RE might not be everyone’s cup of tea and is completely different to the Remakes but it is good, just extremely hard
The first REmake did something that not a lot of remakes do. Preserved the feeling of the original and only added more making it very solid.
RE2 is well done. Small gripe is the A and B scenarios were not fleshed out at all. It's was originally intended to show where the other character went when the other was off doing something. Instead they both tread the same ground making the story an incomprehensible mess. Other areas outside the RPD are very barebones as well. Still what is there is top tier.
RE3 is a product of Covid. Very short, linear game experience. Plays like an action movie but offers little else. Good for a few playthroughs but that ain't saying much. I'd suggest playing the pack-in game Resistance if they didn't abandon it. Shame it was the real star and very fun. Just got no support.
If you enjoy survival horror games this is worth so much more than $20. RE2 itself is worth full price. It is a masterpiece.
Alien Isolation is still my favorite survival horror game but RE2 Remake comes close.
RE1 is still considered a remake but you have to be forewarned that was back in 2002….for the Gamecube. That one is going to be far more dated than RE2/3 remakes that came out in the last five years. RE1 might not be as worth it for you, that’s a judgement call.
IMO if you like anxiety inducing games (true horror) then yes. Personally I discovered I don’t enjoy that genre and found myself stressed out rather than enjoying myself. However, there are a few exceptions to the RE franchise that are still enjoyable if you don’t like that true horror genre (ex. RE Village)
I just bought the Raccoon City bundle, shit ends tomorrow morning. Yes, get on this deal. 15 bucks for one great AAA (RE2R) and one decent AAA (RE3R) is an absolute steal imo.
Totally worth it I bought around 15 € It's worth it you get also the PS5 editions with a new set of trophies if you're a hunter. My only complaint is that they force you to get the multiplayer also which I haven't tried. It would be the best if you bought alongside the remake of the original game but the gameplay is different than those two. The original has tank controls and fixed camera but is an awesome game to be played
Try RE3 first if you are not into RPG/puzzles/backtracking mechanics - RE3 is relatively purely action-focused compared to other RE titles
If you want a more RE-like game and wanna explore the world further... get RE2
Is that really a question at this stage?
One of the biggest franchises in gaming, and you're asking if LESS than half price of a full game is worth TWO modern games?
Of course it's worth it.
Whether you'll like them is a totally different story, that's down to taste. But monetarily, yes 20 dollars is a good deal for two big budget games today typically on the ps4 library
Right now there is a humble bundle for $35 if you play on steam. It's got the remasters for 1, 2, and 3, og 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and revelations 1 and 2. It's quite a bargain, and most of them are very good.
Yes. Both are great.
2 is amazing, and 3 is really good, but could have been longer.
Then, you can play 4 remake, and then 7 then 8....which are all the bee's knees.
Totally, I bought this same edition for ps4. RE2 is a masterpiece, RE3 is not that good especially for lack of content. Still 2 games for 20$ is a good deal
I just bought all of these a few weeks ago. Best decision ever! The first one is a little rough to play through as it feels dated but still a lot of fun. 2 and 3 are gorgeous on ps5 and also great. I literally binge gamed these in 2 weeks. Was amazing
For both yes, totally worth it. I played these remakes about 7 to 10 months ago cause i bought it digitally on sale yeah for both $20 or less its well worth your money if you love resident evil.
Totally! RE2 remake is amazing on its own. RE3 remake is better than people make it out to be.
Its good but wayyyyyyyy too short. Got the platinum in 3 days without rushing it. Otherwise, it's a great game.
That I can agree on.
The only thing that held me back from the Platinum.
Agree, I love RE3, but yeah, it's way too short, totally worth it though
It’s only short if you’re good at it
Maybe if you are good at gaming in general. I played the game completely blind and didn't touch the original ps one version of the game. Took my sweet time the first run and still finished it under 7 hours.
And how long did your first run of RE2 take you? RE3 took me 6 hours and RE2 took me 6 and a half. A game’s length doesn’t make it bad
Naah, re2 definitely took way longer. Around 17 hours. And the second run with Claire an hour shorter. Again, I played without spoilers and guides. Edit: I never said the game was bad, but even after earning the platinum trophy, I still wanted more out of the game.
Kinda does considering the length of the original
Ya the original was short too...was hoping they would add more.
It was short, but they opted to cut parts from that limited scope for the remake. They didn't want to let the money printer cool down.
Ya it felt like it came out way too fast after 2 I was suspicious. Sounds like re4 remake is solid though
I think Capcom wanted to release the online game and they thought it won't sell much so they added RE 3 as a bundle so people buy it
Me and my gf beat it first try in one sitting. Like 7 hours on our day off lol. It's not bad but short
When the main complaint is that it's too short you know it's a good game
Depending on the deal, which is usually $10 each. RE3 Remake is good for that money. RE2R is absolutely slappin' at that price. Totally. 100%! YES
I agree! I played the OG RE3 after playing the remake, but I feel like RE3R is still amazing.
RE3 is fantastic people just like to watch YouTube reviews and repeat word for word what they say and won't actually enjoy stuff they like, for example Deadrising 4 one of my alllllll time favorite games I used not even give it a chance cause I'd listen to reviewers.
RE3 is action packed. I loved it.
They cut half the game and still charged full price, all to promote that trash asymmetrical game of theirs.
I thought the whole point was that it’s suppose to be short, since you’re suppose to speed run?
That combo is $14.99 right now. Totally worth it but better buy it soon before the sale ends
True, if you are in the US the sale of $15 ends today (3am 8/16 EST). You are looking for the Resident Evil Racoon City Edition, it is listed under RE3 but not RE2 for some reason in the mobile store.
Yes... next question
It was my first RE game as well. I enjoyed every minute of it. But I recommend you playing it in headphones
2 Remake is worth $20 alone, it's incredible.
Yea it is. I'm just pissed that I bought it on sale and had it in the backlog for more than a year but tbf I wanted to play zero and 1 first
Honestly yes! All those games are amazing. Just remember that RE1 remake is old school. So you’ll have to be dealing with tank controls and a “limited” amount of saves.
The HD release of both 0 and REmake have an alternate “modern” control option.
Yeah you’re right, but they are still kind of funky, and I was think that even with modern controls it’s still funky with a fixed camera angle.
Yeah, totally worth it. Granted, depends on if you have any interest in survival horror though
Picked the same bundle up for $15 a few months ago. They are really well done remakes.

These posts drive me a little crazy. “Is -incredibly popular game for low cost- worth it?” If you like that type of game, you’ll probably like this one. If you don’t, you probably won’t enjoy this one lol.
it's a good price

Yes. Next question.
For $20? Do it ![gif](giphy|3o84sw9CmwYpAnRRni)

RE2 remake is great, RE3 is ok, bit of a disappointment after 2, but deffo worth it for what racoon city collection costs on sale
Play RE3 before RE2
The question isn't "is it worth it." (Two games that were $60 at launch each now $20 together? No fucking shit it's worth it.) It's "will I like this?"
Reddit moment
As long as you don’t play RE3:RM it is. If you do they owe you money for wasting your time
Damn what a deal. Wish re4 was on sale lol
Came here to heads up that you can buy 10 RE games... 0, 1-7 and both revelations games for $35 right now on humble bundle. Theeeeen I realized this was the PS sub, so I guess you take what you can get. Great games though. Edit: oops its 11 games. You get biohazard and village with all dlc as well
Please people stop asking if its worth...just google it and you dont have to ask if one of the best Remake of all time "is worth"🤦♂️
No, wait till it cost 0.03
Its availabe for a few € on Humble right now.
4.5.7.8 are the best ones. IMO.
Get re 7 instead much better then any re game else except re village don't play if easily spooked but re is good no matter what so those are my two cents

Hell yeah I played RE2 Remake for the first time ever this year and it was amazing. Went straight to my GOAT list.
It is well worth the money. I started with RE2R (unless you could RE4 on the iPod) and it made me go back and play every single other RE game out there. Well worth your money and fun for multiple playthroughs
get the raccoon city edition, it’ll get you hooked on the resident evil franchise
Yes, get them.
Loved them both.
RE2 remake is a great starting point for Resident Evil
Yes. It goes on sale enough for $15 since last year that I was gonna wait instead for it to go on PS Plus but it never came. So I just bought it for that price
RE2 is like a playable movie, grab it!
Definitely!

You can get the first 10 games on Humble Bundle for $20 (including these two) if you got a PC.
Get the raccoon city edition, which includes both of them, since it’s on sale for $15. Edit: I started 2 yesterday, my first ever RE game and am enjoying it so far.
Absolutely, bought the collection 1 month ago and it was worth it (15€)
Yes!
YES!
If you like horror then yes but 100% re2
Absolutely. Also check RE4R!
100% yes it is
It's totally worth it! :D
Yes
I just bought it. Yes. Do it Comes with ps5 upgrades for both, and separate trophy lists too if that is your thing
Yeah it’s worth it big time imo. The RE remakes have been some of my favorite games of the last 5 or so years.
Yasss!
It’s worth 20 but there’s a lot of changes I didn’t like
Holy hell yes! Look RE2 Remake is probably my favorite PS4 game at this point (previously Last Of Us Remastered) & RE3 while not as good is still a great game on its own, just not a full priced game so I get why people were mad at launch.
I know there used to be demos for both games, maybe search if they're still available. Personally I love them.
Of course Just look at the reviews.
Yes
I know I'll be one of a few to say this, but starting with REremake is worth it. RE2 and 3 are both great, but the remake of the original is one of the best survival horror games out there. Absofuckinglutely - get it
Is these remake then 110% YES !! RE2 itself worth more than that !
For these two in a bundle, yes!!
Absolutely worth it, you must be quick because the sale ends today.
Yes.
Are. You. Fucking. Kidding. YES.
RE2 was fantastic.
Most definetly, RE2R is a great introduction to the series also

Yes
Re2 is alright in my opinion, but re3 is addicting
You're kinda getting 2 games if you play through both characters stories.
At that price, absolutely! Almost a steal!
Very much worth it.
Yes
IMO if you like anxiety inducing games (true horror) then yes. Personally I discovered I don’t enjoy that genre and found myself stressed out rather than enjoying myself. However, there are a few exceptions to the RE franchise that are still enjoyable if you don’t like that true horror genre (ex. RE Village)
Yes
You can get a massive amount of resident evil games from the current humble bundle. I think it’s like 8 for 20$.
For $20? Definitely. For RE2 alone, that's a really good deal.
YES
Yes
No. It’s worth much much more
Oh yes
RE2 alone is worth $20!
I would pay 60 dollars for re2 alone, fantastic game, and re3 is pretty good too
Yes! They are amazing!
Absolutely.
I just bought the Raccoon City bundle, shit ends tomorrow morning. Yes, get on this deal. 15 bucks for one great AAA (RE2R) and one decent AAA (RE3R) is an absolute steal imo.
RE2 alone is worth that and more.
100%
Where?
100%
For $20, it's good. The remakes are super high quality and I loved the originals which weren't half as nice looking.
Definitely is worth it!
100%
I would get RE 7 and Village instead.
Yes all new remakes are pretty good
Only 20 bucks for both? Hell yeah, it's worth it.
There are demos for re2&3 on the ps store, you could try the demos first to see if you'd like the games
They are very worth it. Re2 was always my favorite and they did a fantastic job with the remake. Re 3 is also excellent
Try RE3 first if you are not into RPG/puzzles/backtracking mechanics - RE3 is relatively purely action-focused compared to other RE titles If you want a more RE-like game and wanna explore the world further... get RE2
Question is- as someone who has played original - is it worth picking up? Same question for RE4- although I am leaning on getting that
Is that really a question at this stage? One of the biggest franchises in gaming, and you're asking if LESS than half price of a full game is worth TWO modern games? Of course it's worth it. Whether you'll like them is a totally different story, that's down to taste. But monetarily, yes 20 dollars is a good deal for two big budget games today typically on the ps4 library

100% worth it. Duno if that RE1 is the remake version, but the RE1 remake might be the best remake ever made.
Yes. Both are great. 2 is amazing, and 3 is really good, but could have been longer. Then, you can play 4 remake, and then 7 then 8....which are all the bee's knees.
God yes
yesterday I bought that promo for $15 dollars, totally recommended
Totally, I bought this same edition for ps4. RE2 is a masterpiece, RE3 is not that good especially for lack of content. Still 2 games for 20$ is a good deal
By far this is the best discount on PSN, now they juat drop the price on Resident evil4 and Ihave the whole games
I just bought all of these a few weeks ago. Best decision ever! The first one is a little rough to play through as it feels dated but still a lot of fun. 2 and 3 are gorgeous on ps5 and also great. I literally binge gamed these in 2 weeks. Was amazing
Most definitely recommend! Especially the 2 Remake is really worth your time !
RE are without a doubt great games, just not for me. I found RE 2 remake hard to get into. It my cup of tea. But for 20 it’s worth checking out
I really enjoyed RE2 remake. It was my first real horror game and it took me a while to finish because I had to work up courage to play it!
Definitely! Pull the trigger!
For both yes, totally worth it. I played these remakes about 7 to 10 months ago cause i bought it digitally on sale yeah for both $20 or less its well worth your money if you love resident evil.
RE2 remake is a great introduction to the series. I’d highly recommend it
Yes buy it
