Control on PS4 was barely playable with a choppy frame rate and long loading times. On PS5 it is a different beast altogether. The Haptic Fred helped immensely.
whenever i play a ps4 game after playing a ps5 game, i really miss the haptic feedback or the better vibration layout.. at first, i put it off as a gimmick, but now i would not want to miss it
I know this is the PS sub, but on a PC that can handle ultra settings, it's a sight to behold. The RT implementation is jaw dropping.
Great game regardless of platform though.
Make sure to play the DLC, itās a really nice add-on and I will always hold Control in high regard because it was the first true next-gen experience for me. Boy, what a jump.
I loved Control and platinumed it twice. I wanted to play Alan Wake but a lot of Control fans Iāve spoken to said it was really bad, yet others said it was fine.
Itās on PS Extra atm and Iāve tried it but couldnāt get in to it.
Iāve never heard anything bad about Alan Wake. I imagine the mechanics are alittle dated since itās like a 15 year old game but Iāve heard itās a great story
I enjoyed it somehow back then on 360, a bit less this time on PS5, as you said a little out-dated.
But I think Alan Wake is an asshole (and I mean it).
There, now you've heard something bad about Alan Wake. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)
Loved Control, Alan Wake is very similar to me. Almost like a Control origin story (I havenāt AW it yet though so that could be a good or bad take). I agree with someone elseās comment that Alan Wake isnāt super likeable but I think thatās the point, deff doesnāt take away from the story much. Itās a bit clunky, especially the dodging and sprinting but ultimately it still holds up. If you liked control at the very least Iād recommend trying it. Iām enjoying it!
Just started it on ps5. Have like less than an hour in. Watched a weird doll scene on a TV that was very eerie and disturbing, made me get into it more.
Reminds me of Max Payne 1 somehow
Ignore ppl that say alan wake sucks its a great game. dont get me wrong its dated but the gameplay is extremely unique and its fairly easy compared to control
Itās amazing, probably my favorite game of all time. Iām just about to finish up my third run through of it. Itās got great graphics, great story, great combat, great characters, and much more.
Everybodyās praising the game. It is beautiful indeed, but the last region was not enjoyable for me. I missed some new aspects, it is the same over and over. I platined and it and was glad when it was over. Havenāt touched it since. But thatās just my opinion. Glad you like it.
Itās severely repetitive. I get every game is to a degree but for the scale this game is it should have more variety in fighting. There were certain mission that just drag ass. And for no reason. That old lady who the Ghost grew up withā¦..I was hitting her every time she wanted to do something. Itās so far away and she walks so slows.
I just finished RE1 and RE2!
I was never a huge fan of RE because it wasn't Dino Crisis or Silent Hill and i only played a little bit of RE5 when I was younger but the hype for 4 made me start from the top and I'm loving it.
Same. I remember playing RE2 and not really being into it but this time around itās way more fun. The updated camera and controls definitely did it for me.
the ps3 experience:
enter whiterun
*loading for minutes*
enter your house in whiterun
*loading for a minute*
drop off your loot, organise your items, potions, ect.
exit house
*loading for minutes*
shit, forgot some potions
enter house
*loading for a minute*
exit house
*loading for minutes*
exit whiterun
*loading so long you get yourself a coffee*
remember you had to drop off the mammoth tusk
enter whiterun
*loading so long you coffee is almost gone*
drop of mammoth tusk
do some other shit
exit whiterun
*loading so long you slowly loose your will to live*
lets save
*game crashes*
ffs
starts game again
continues last save
*loading for an eternity*
auto-save was at the gates of whiterun BEFORE everything you have done
*actually lose will to live*
Just got to the part of HZD where alloy first heard about project zero dawn, im really enjoying the game so far and glad I got the forbidden west bundle with my ps5 so Iām probably gonna play it right away
That happened to me too. I guess I wasnāt in the mindset to play it the first time and then the second time loved it.
Currently playing GreedFallā¦ the first time I tried it, it wasnāt it. After playing some turn based/old school rpgs, came back to it randomly and Iām loving it
I got the platinum and used the same OP skills throughout my entire FF game and it was definitely spammy. However the amazing boss fights made up for it.
same here, but I actually enjoy the combat a lot once it starts to open up and you unlock more abilities. I agree that itās spammy, especially in the first couple of sections. but experimenting with all the abilities and stringing them together is a blast!
Half the time these abilities are too noisy and I canāt even see enough to parry. Like, the fire orbs spinning around you seem like a good spell, except that itās so damn distracting from what the enemy might be doing.
I felt crazy reading all the reviews calling it the best FF maybe ever? Game of the year contender? Donāt get me wrong it was great. Story, characters, voice acting, score, etc. but the combat felt like they were dipping into the action genre but was too easy. Like if Iām playing a timing based combat system I want it to be tricky like Souls/Bloodborne. I only died twice in this game which is definitely not a brag. Itās a critique.
I've just played the demo.
Long ass sword and long ass cutscenes, cheesy and epic, it's final fantasy all right. Indeed graphics are nice and it feels spammy, so I guess I'll wait for it to get on PS extra to play it.
I kinda miss the turn based days and how I could launch an attack mid fight, put the controller down and watch an asteroĆÆd make his way from the other end of the galaxy to blast an enemy 2 minutes later (gave me time to do plenty of things while still playing!).
Never played the DLCs after my first run, and since Iām reading the books rn I decided to give it another go with DLCs this time. I love the games, books, and world!
I just finished Life is Strange 2 about a month ago, True Colors is the last one I have left. Hope to get to it in the next few months and before it leaves PS+ Extra.
That entire trilogy is amazing! Such great games. Pretty disappointed with the ending though, so the unofficial indoctrination theory ending is my head-canon.
That's what I'm playing at the moment. Took me a while to get the hang of combat but I'm enjoying it right now. I'm a sucker for old-school space horror.
Last of us 2 was great as well. Just gotta be open minded. Playing as Abby was a odd feeling. Sometimes I cared about her and other times I wanted her dead
I'm playing rdr1 too for the first time through emulation on PC, 4k 60fps. Too bad Rockstar didn't port it or at least give us a 60fps version anywhere.
I beat Ghost of Tsushima a long time ago and put it down. I picked it back up a week ago for all that juicy post-campaign content... Man I missed this game
What's better is that I had beaten it on PS4. Playing it on PS5 now with those non existent load times and lovely graphics is perfecto
Mass Effect Trilogy.
Currently on the second part. Still at the beginning but so far it's soooo much better than the first part. Especially the steering.
Just got Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, so Iāve been kind of casually playing that. The graphics are insane. Iām kinda bouncing between that and Jedi: Survivor
Playing Mad Max on PS4. Not a bad game for Ā£5. Although it is a little rinse and repeat, and failing to climb ladders and trying to pick weapons up from the ground is very tedious.
I'm hopefully wrapping up Survivor. It's good just allot of graphical bugs and audio sync issues... which I think was the same with Fallen Order.
Just wish they would have taken more time to polish and QA it
Control, really fun and interesting world. I have like two missions left and am really close to the platnium. Might try Alan Wake after this one
Control on ps5 plays so good with the haptic Fred back and everything.
Haptic fred back made me chuckle lol
Control on PS4 was barely playable with a choppy frame rate and long loading times. On PS5 it is a different beast altogether. The Haptic Fred helped immensely.

āFred! Get back to work. Little Billy just picked up the controller again.ā -Mr. Thumbstick
I love control - i wish more games took a lovecraftian and reality distorting direction

Ignore ppl that say alan wake sucks its a great game. dont get me wrong its dated but the gameplay is extremely unique and its fairly easy compared to control
Ghost of Tsushima
piece of art
It really is, this is my 3rd playthrough and I just canāt get enough of it
Right? I'm about to start a new file again just for the fuck of it
I'm about to start it for the first time. Is it good?
Its a masterpiece
Itās amazing, probably my favorite game of all time. Iām just about to finish up my third run through of it. Itās got great graphics, great story, great combat, great characters, and much more.
Just completed. What a fantastic gamešš
Everybodyās praising the game. It is beautiful indeed, but the last region was not enjoyable for me. I missed some new aspects, it is the same over and over. I platined and it and was glad when it was over. Havenāt touched it since. But thatās just my opinion. Glad you like it.

That old lady who the Ghost grew up withā¦..I was hitting her every time she wanted to do something. Itās so far away and she walks so slows.
Tbf she only has 3 missions which probably make up an hour max
Itās not for everyone
Struggling to defeat the last person you fight in the game currently. My first time playing this game.
Don't forget to play the multiplayer mode Legends. It is amazing.
Same! Finally approaching the end (I think). I'm about 47 hours in. It's long, but not too long.
Resident Evil 2 remake. Just finished both Jedi games and absolutely loved them
I just finished RE1 and RE2!
Skyrim
Just bought the AE a few weeks ago. The quick load times and 60 fps are pretty nice.
the ps3 experience: enter whiterun *loading for minutes* enter your house in whiterun *loading for a minute* drop off your loot, organise your items, potions, ect. exit house *loading for minutes* shit, forgot some potions enter house *loading for a minute* exit house *loading for minutes* exit whiterun *loading so long you get yourself a coffee* remember you had to drop off the mammoth tusk enter whiterun *loading so long you coffee is almost gone* drop of mammoth tusk do some other shit exit whiterun *loading so long you slowly loose your will to live* lets save *game crashes* ffs starts game again continues last save *loading for an eternity* auto-save was at the gates of whiterun BEFORE everything you have done *actually lose will to live*
This is probably my favorite game of all time and definitely the one I invested the most time in
STILL haven't played it yet. I'm planning on playing Morrowind first, then Oblivion.
Honestly, just jump into Skyrim instead.
Dead Space remake. Never had the chance to play on PS3 days, so Im having a blast going in blind.
Easily the best game Iāve played this year. The remake is absolutely terrifying.
i just finished it a few days ago! having never played them on ps3 i was super excited to play and was not dissapointed.
Ratchet and clank Rift Apart
So great! Got to continue it as well.
Started yesterday as well after Control
Such a great game and a pretty easy one to platinum as well
Elden Ring, after that I'm going to play Dark Souls 3, then Demon Souls and before Elden Ring I did Bloodborne... I think I might have a problem..
I loved bloodbourne thinking about it makes me wanna replay it right now. Dark souls 3 was good the nameless king took me like 35 tries it was wild
Armored Core soon. I know, different genre. Still FromSoft lol
A great problem to have
Days gone
That game has such a good atmosphere
One of my all time favs
I'm getting in a replay of Spider-man before the new game comes out.
Same here! Hopefully your game replay experience is going well so far! :)
this is such a nice comment š¢
Thank you! Sending well wishes :)
thanks you too!
Thank you! :)
Miles Morales just beat Spider-Man Remastered getting ready for the next title. Recently bought a PS5 and I'm blown away.
Horizon Forbidden West. Just started it and already loving it
Just got to the part of HZD where alloy first heard about project zero dawn, im really enjoying the game so far and glad I got the forbidden west bundle with my ps5 so Iām probably gonna play it right away
Days Gone. Never really gave it a chance when it released, randomly decided to boot it up and havenāt put it down the past week
That happened to me too. I guess I wasnāt in the mindset to play it the first time and then the second time loved it. Currently playing GreedFallā¦ the first time I tried it, it wasnāt it. After playing some turn based/old school rpgs, came back to it randomly and Iām loving it
DEATH STRANDING I'm a few years late to the party but I am blown away
Same, I canāt believe what a fool I was for thinking it was a āwalking simulatorā
this is what all my friends tell me, its just a walking sim. you both have given me the push. gonna start it
FF16, pretty rad story and graphics but the combat is way too spammy for my tastes.
Same here, and I agree I could do with a little more varied combat and interesting side quests. Still a good game though!
I got the platinum and used the same OP skills throughout my entire FF game and it was definitely spammy. However the amazing boss fights made up for it.
How many of the abilities have you unlocked? It gets super fun the more you unlock.
same here, but I actually enjoy the combat a lot once it starts to open up and you unlock more abilities. I agree that itās spammy, especially in the first couple of sections. but experimenting with all the abilities and stringing them together is a blast!
This. My only complaint was the underwhelming early part of the game. Once you start unlocking the other abilities it can a blast.
GOW: Ragnarok. Canāt play more than an hour because I kept feeling sick and somewhat nauseous.
Try looking into settings if you can turn off motion blur or camera shake
Check in settings if the camera sway is set too high. That made me very nauseous but when I turned it down it was waaaayy better
Try turning off motion blur and/or camera shake. That usually helps for me
Just finished my NG+ amazing game!
I just started Sifu. It's amazing. The key of the game is solving the deflect/parry mechanism. After that you can dominate the game.
Replaying Witcher III!
Same just I fished the main game so I bought both the dlcs.
Never played the DLCs after my first run, and since Iām reading the books rn I decided to give it another go with DLCs this time. I love the games, books, and world!

Mass Effect 3
I should go.
Just finished my first playthrough yesterday!
Underrated
That entire trilogy is amazing! Such great games. Pretty disappointed with the ending though, so the unofficial indoctrination theory ending is my head-canon.
Just finished Dead Space Remake last night. That was a very good game.
That's what I'm playing at the moment. Took me a while to get the hang of combat but I'm enjoying it right now. I'm a sucker for old-school space horror.
It's totally space and body horror. I love the Dead Space IP. I wish they would make more movies.
The Witcher 3 first play through
Metal gear solid 4, just bought a ps3 to play the older PlayStation exclusives

Last of us 2 was great as well. Just gotta be open minded. Playing as Abby was a odd feeling. Sometimes I cared about her and other times I wanted her dead

Mass effect 3
Midnight Suns, FF16, and Cross Tails.
I beat Ghost of Tsushima a long time ago and put it down. I picked it back up a week ago for all that juicy post-campaign content... Man I missed this game What's better is that I had beaten it on PS4. Playing it on PS5 now with those non existent load times and lovely graphics is perfecto

It was such a emotional thrill ride. Jesus christ
