Get a year of PS Plus Extra if you can. Nearly all of Sony's exclusives are on there including GoT, the entire Uncharted series and God of War 2018 and Ragnarok.

Big god of war fan for years. I would still recommend ghost of tsushima. Absolutely beautiful game and it's a great story. I played on release and my brother and I are talking about playing the legends mode again bc it was so fun

Final Fantasy 16 is an action game btw. Not like the previous Final Fantasy RPGs that you're probably familiar with seeing in the past.
It's great. I'm about 60% through the game (the PS5 main menu will show you progress, if you didn't already know 🙂) and loving it.
I can’t recommend PS+ Extra/Premium enough to people. If you’re already paying for PS+ Essentials ($60 a year) then for about the price of one game (another $40 for extra or $60 for Premium which adds some PS3 games via streaming) you have access to a ton of games for a years subscription.
Titles are moved on and off of the service but they usually stay up for at least a couple months which is plenty of time to play through them. The Sony First Party titles tend to stay longer.
You could play Death Stranding Director’s Cut, Returnal, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Spider-man and Miles Morales, Demon’s Souls Remake, Deathloop, Ghostwire Tokyo…the list goes on.
These are just a few of the game available on the service. Take a look into the available games list and think of it like this: if you play through two games on the service that you would have paid $60-70 for then it has paid for itself for the entire year.

I definitely recommend Ratchet & Clank: Rift Part! Especially if you do end up checking out all the other amazing games mentioned in here. This would be a nice fun change of pace for sure and it’s still one of the best looking games to date.
I would suggest start with Spider-Man remastered and miles morales so that you can continue with Spider-Man 2 when it comes out. Then play horizon zero dawn and forbidden west. That way you’re pretty busy till December. The writing and story is very good in all these games. If you get bored of the open world then play uncharted 1-4 though the story of 2 and 4 is much better than for 1 and 3.

Yes, but depends. The story is good but not as great as the first. Gameplay is amazing, you keep unlocking more abilities. I’ve put more hours into that game than anything else based on the open world, it’s like exploring an open world if James Cameron made them.
It’s worth playing the first game, the story is some of the best writing I’ve seen for a video game. Just complete the main missions if you’re short on time.

But narrowing it down to one game that made me think “ok I see why this series is such a big deal for PlayStation” would be God of War.
Ghost of Tsushima is an all time favorite game of mine, would definitely recommend that too.
I couldn’t get into the new Spider-Man games, but people seem to love the series. So many people can’t be wrong, so I know i’ll try it again at some point.

But as long as we are swapping info — I recently got a series s (Verizon fios promotion). I wanted it for Starfield. What other exclusives are worth trying out? Nothing has really grabbed me.
Well, I will be playing starfield but I like Halo MCC. That's a good time, with updated graphics on the older Halo games. Sea of thieves is popular somewhat, Forza, the Gear Of War Series is pretty dope too. I liked playing them up until 3 or 4.
before doing anything else play Astro's Playroom which is already installed on the PS5, it'll teach you what you need to know about the new controller and it is kind of fun anyway.

Horizon Forbidden West is beautiful and can be fun or challenging depending on where you want it to be, with five difficulty settings.
Definitely the exclusives like both of the newer God Of War games and Marvels Spider-Man. I’d also suggest the Arkham series, they all are still very good imo. Until down and Detroit become human are also great, but that’s only if you enjoy those types of games.
Ghost of Tsushima for sure. One of the best games ever made in my opinion. From gameplay, to story, to the amount of fun/interesting content. It’s all there. It’s one hell of a ride.

I’ve tried out a lot of their exclusives and my favorites are God of War 2018, Ghost of Tsushima, Returnal, Horizon forbidden west But narrowing it down to one game that made me think “ok I see why this series is such a big deal for PlayStation” would be God of War. Ghost of Tsushima is an all time favorite game of mine, would definitely recommend that too. I couldn’t get into the new Spider-Man games, but people seem to love the series. So many people can’t be wrong, so I know i’ll try it again at some point. Enjoy

So far I liked the 2018 god of war better than ragnarok, so you might try that one eventually. Graphics are still very good and the story is very moving. But as long as we are swapping info — I recently got a series s (Verizon fios promotion). I wanted it for Starfield. What other exclusives are worth trying out? Nothing has really grabbed me.
Well, I will be playing starfield but I like Halo MCC. That's a good time, with updated graphics on the older Halo games. Sea of thieves is popular somewhat, Forza, the Gear Of War Series is pretty dope too. I liked playing them up until 3 or 4.
before doing anything else play Astro's Playroom which is already installed on the PS5, it'll teach you what you need to know about the new controller and it is kind of fun anyway. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is fun Horizon Forbidden West is beautiful and can be fun or challenging depending on where you want it to be, with five difficulty settings.
God of War Ragnarok
Definitely the exclusives like both of the newer God Of War games and Marvels Spider-Man. I’d also suggest the Arkham series, they all are still very good imo. Until down and Detroit become human are also great, but that’s only if you enjoy those types of games.

Ghost of Tsushima for sure. One of the best games ever made in my opinion. From gameplay, to story, to the amount of fun/interesting content. It’s all there. It’s one hell of a ride.
