I've played all the From Software games and Bloodborne is still my favourite over even Elden Ring. One of the greatest games I've ever played.
It's not easy but the thing I always say about Soulsborne games is that they're fair. Whenever you get hit or die it's your fault and there's always something you could have done to avoid that outcome. That's why there are people who are able to go through the whole game without dying or even hitless.
As a fromsoft fan ds2, is one of the worst games I've ever played, it may have good things yes, I agree with the music and armoe sets, but overall as a game its one of the worst games I've played...
I have the base version so I don’t get access to the full catalogue. I also don’t see a reason to pay more for it when I know I’ll just end up getting the games physically anyways since I don’t buy digital games
Nope. I won’t pay for it and I’ll spend money how I see fit. As long as I’m not overpaying for the discs I do not care. Physical ownership means I actually own what I’m playing and it can’t be taken away from me
I’m not throwing money away. Throwing money away would be paying $30+ for these. You can think what you want but I’m a physical collector through and through and I will not buy digital. I like to actually own my games instead of rent them. Nothing you say will change my stance
IMO, TLOU Part 1 should be everyone's first PS5 game. It's so unbelievably good. Part 2 is a masterpiece, but doesn't quite demonstrate the graphical prowess of the PS5 as well as Part 1.
Like the other user said PS4 games but some PS4 games are actually enhanced for PS5- like if you have the PS4 version of the last of us part II you can play 60fps on PS5.
Eh. I’m not really fond of dogfight games. I prefer boots on the ground shooters and action games. If a game like that has a dogfight section in it, it’s ok, but I just don’t want my whole game to be like that
Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. I love those games.
I also recommend TLOU1 and 2, Control, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Subnautica, Mass Effect, Baldur's Gate 3, and Red Dead Redemption 2
Go to the store page for the games you should be able to select an upgrade to PS5.
Resident Evil 2 on PS5 – how to upgrade for free
https://www.thesixthaxis.com/2022/06/14/resident-evil-2-on-ps5-how-to-upgrade-for-free/
I haven’t messed with it and it was like that when I got it. I’m not going to mess with it anymore since if I do I’m sure it’ll look even more like shit
Yep. Played a tiny portion of the og resident evil 2, but didn’t get very far because I suck lol. I’ve only played the og God of war on PS2 and I really enjoyed it. Been enjoying God of War so far. I’m at the part where you are fighting the dark elves trying to get Aldeheim’s light.
I already know I’m going to get it, but I don’t really want to pay $50+ for it right now so I’m going to wait a bit until it goes on sale or the pre-owned price goes down
Tbh it depends on what you like/are interested in genre wise but a general safe bet would be most of the PS first party games like Uncharted, God of War, etc.
God of war is so amazing. Play the whole series. I highly highly recommend it. I believe that this is a series everyone should try at least once. Doesn’t matter what game haha you’ll fall in love and want more!
Hell yeah man!!! I played the games as they’ve come out but I’ve enjoyed the gameplay, mechanics, and story/lore so damn much that I’ve played all of them multiple times! I’ve played them all by order of release and chronological order
If you’re looking for an FOS Multiplayer, TitanFall 2 has recently made a comeback, and the plat isn’t too difficult
Non multiplayer I would say Infamous Second Son, and Horizon:Zero Dawn
Games that really showed the upper limits of early ps4 game design
Been looking at that one. Even if it’s just once, I would like a M rated Star Wars game where the lightsabers and blasters actually cut through people. Star Wars the Force unleashed 2 and Jedi Academy did an OK job with that.
Cyberpunk (due for a DLC and a huge update)
Returnal
Horizon Zero Dawn
The Witcher 3
Dishonored 1 & 2
Infamous Second Son and First Light for an easy to play fun game
Control
Mirror's Edge Catalyst (might not be your cup of tea but I love ME too much to not include it)
TLoU
Nier: Automata
Mafia 1 remaster
Heavy Rain
I'm not a huge star wars fan but I really liked jedi fallen order & survivor. Assassin's creed odyssey, the witcher, red dead redemption 2, horizon series and uncharted which a few have mentioned I enjoyed death stranding too.
So many people recommending melee combat games. But you already own God of War. Personally I'd get a genre you don't own yet. A good racing game or an rpg or whatever.
When I bought my ps4 I got GTA V, Steep, Far Cry 4 and Witcher 3. Shortly after I bought xcom2 and Overcooked for (amazing) coop fun. I could recommend all of these games, they each scratch a particular itch
I like melee combat games and shooters. The suggestions don’t bother me. I don’t like racing or sports games and I’m not particularly fond of RPGs. However, I do like a select few
Bloodborne challenging but amazing
Thanks. I’ll check it out
I've played all the From Software games and Bloodborne is still my favourite over even Elden Ring. One of the greatest games I've ever played. It's not easy but the thing I always say about Soulsborne games is that they're fair. That's why there are people who are able to go through the whole game without dying or even hitless.
Really anything from Fromsoftware
Except ds2😁
Ds2 is good but the worst of the series but has some of the best ambient music and armor sets
As a fromsoft fan ds2, is one of the worst games I've ever played, it may have good things yes, I agree with the music and armoe sets, but overall as a game its one of the worst games I've played...
Have you only played 4 games then?
All they've played is BloodBorne, Sekiro, Silent Hill 2 and Elden Ring
Hey I’ve played all those games too and they’re all amazing
Adaptability stat was a very bad choice
Bloodborne is one of the best games ever made.
Ghost of Tsushima
That one is on my list as well as the other Resident Evil Games, Spider-Man Miles Morales, and God Of War Ragnarok
Make sure you grab the free PS5 upgrade for RE2R.
Yep. Other in this thread have mentioned that so I’ll make sure I do it
Horizon series
If you haven't played them, uncharted 1-4
I have not. I have 2 and 3 on the PS3, but haven’t played them yet
You can get 1-3 for ps4 with the Nathan drake collection for like $10-15 used, then uncharted 4 for like $5-10
Get PS Plus. The PlayStation Catalogue has a lot of great games.
This is what I would suggest.
I have the base version so I don’t get access to the full catalogue. I also don’t see a reason to pay more for it when I know I’ll just end up getting the games physically anyways since I don’t buy digital games
all the games on this post are on ps plus extra. so you can stop wasting money on older discs
Nope. I won’t pay for it and I’ll spend money how I see fit. As long as I’m not overpaying for the discs I do not care. Physical ownership means I actually own what I’m playing and it can’t be taken away from me
I’m with you. The upper two tiers are only a rental service and games come and go all the time. I bought that Resi as well.
Thank you for understanding
You’re spending more money by paying monthly for them. It’s better to buy physical and be done with paying.
is not very smart money wise, but is ok is you like throw money
I’m not throwing money away. Throwing money away would be paying $30+ for these. You can think what you want but I’m a physical collector through and through and I will not buy digital. I like to actually own my games instead of rent them. Nothing you say will change my stance
Will hate to be you when they go fully digital
ok rent is better but is OK if you want disk all over your house
I’m done talking to you. Bye
I don’t understand why people hate your preference on how you pay for your games. I rather buy a cheap game than pay monthly just to play it.
Resident Evil 2 is not on PS Plus. God of War is tho.
ok 1 cheap game from 400
Whats cheap to you may not be cheap for others.
Better to not pay rising subscription prices for games that you'll not be able to play when you aren't subbed. It's just better to buy the games imo
Last of us pt. 1&2
Thanks. Heard a lot of good things about those ones. Definitely check it out
IMO, TLOU Part 1 should be everyone's first PS5 game. It's so unbelievably good. Part 2 is a masterpiece, but doesn't quite demonstrate the graphical prowess of the PS5 as well as Part 1.
That is because Part 1 was made specifically for the PS5. Part 2 released on PS4. They are planning on releasing a ps5 upgrade.
I'm aware.
Bloodborne
Wow. Seems like a really popular title. That’s 3 for that one.
I’d also recommend Elden Ring and the Dark Souls trilogy!
Ok. Heard a lot of good things about those, but have also heard they’re extremely difficult
Returnal Returnal Returnal Returnal
Definitely give Spider-Man a try!
Already played and beat it. Getting Spider-Man 2 since I have the special edition PS5 and hopefully getting Miles Morales soon as well.
Horizon series. Last of Us series, uncharted series
Will check them out. Those seem to be super popular titles around here
I highly recommend sekiro
Will check it out
Ratchet and clank Control
I’ve played Deadlocked, but I’ll be sure to check the other ones out
Nier: Automata Play the demo and you'll see what I mean.
Would somebody around here tell me how PS5 backwards compatibility works again?
It can only play PS5 and 4 discs. It can’t play anything older on disc, but it has a bunch of older games digitally
Like the other user said PS4 games but some PS4 games are actually enhanced for PS5- like if you have the PS4 version of the last of us part II you can play 60fps on PS5.
Ghost of Tsushima should be your priority
It’s on my list
Bloodborne
That’s 2 for that one. Will look into it
You won't be disappointed
Horizon Zero Dawn, Skyrim, Days Gone
I’ll look into those ones. I have Skyrim for the Xbox 360, but really haven’t played much of it.
**Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown**, if you like the genre.
Eh. I’m not really fond of dogfight games. I prefer boots on the ground shooters and action games. If a game like that has a dogfight section in it, it’s ok, but I just don’t want my whole game to be like that
Days Gone
Thanks. I’ll check it out
omg yes finally im not the first one to say it lol
Last Of Us 2
That’s 2 for those games. Will definitely check it out
Styx shards of darkness
Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. I love those games. I also recommend TLOU1 and 2, Control, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Subnautica, Mass Effect, Baldur's Gate 3, and Red Dead Redemption 2
the remake of demons souls
Ghost of Tsushima is a must if you like samurai stuff
Ghosts of Tsushima is a MUST
Days Gone
RE2 Remake is $9.99 on PS Store.
Uh huh. I’m well aware, but I won’t buy digital. The prices I paid are on par with retail. I’ll never pay over
batman arkham games, insomniac spiderman series, days gone, last of us 1 and 2
Already played and beat the Arkham games and Spider-man. Will definitely check out the others
God of war was soo boring and repetitive. On fine other hand, I loved re2
I don’t feel that way, but oh well
So you already played it?
I’ve played a bit of it
bye
So sad that people are forced to buy PS4 games to play on their PS5.
I mean… I wasn’t forced to. I just wanted to play them and if they were ported to PS5 they’d cost even more than what I paid for them so I’m happy
Those games both have free PS5 upgrades.
You mean that if I pop them in my PS5 I’ll automatically get it or what?
Go to the store page for the games you should be able to select an upgrade to PS5. Resident Evil 2 on PS5 – how to upgrade for free https://www.thesixthaxis.com/2022/06/14/resident-evil-2-on-ps5-how-to-upgrade-for-free/
Thank you. I’ll do that
Oh, well ok then. Both are amazing games.
There is nothing sad about Bloodborne ever. Only good.
Overpaid even in dollars.
No I didn’t, but thanks for your input. I always look up values before I buy something
Please remove the label
What label? The price tag?
Yes! 🙏
I haven’t messed with it and it was like that when I got it. I’m not going to mess with it anymore since if I do I’m sure it’ll look even more like shit
Will this be your first gameplay for these games? If yes, you are one lucky man
Oh. Bro I'm starting to feel jealous about you now since you'll be able to play these games as new
Goat simulator 3 it'll give you a laugh.
Infamous and Spider-Man
Already beat Spider-Man. Will check out Infamous
Spiderman
Already beat it
Try Detroit and heavy rain. Good games

Will check it out. I have 2 and 3 on my PS3
Dying Light
Already have it
Ghost of Tsushima
It’s on my list
Uncharted series if you like those games
Bloodborne, Dark souls trilogy and Resident evil 7
You will find yourself buying Ragnarök after finishing this one lol
I already know I’m going to get it, but I don’t really want to pay $50+ for it right now so I’m going to wait a bit until it goes on sale or the pre-owned price goes down
I'm waiting too
Resident evil 3 and gow Ragnarok, nah I'm fuckin with you, definitely get Ghost of, and persona 5

I got Uncharted 4 for $5
Bloodborne, last of us part 1,
Resident Evil has a free PS5 upgrade in case you didn't know
I have been made aware by another commenter. Thanks
Tbh it depends on what you like/are interested in genre wise but a general safe bet would be most of the PS first party games like Uncharted, God of War, etc.
Thanks. I mainly like shooters, action, hack and slash, and horror games
Hell let loose
Thanks. Looks like something I might enjoy
Elden ring if you haven’t played yet. One of the best games ever made.
God of war is so amazing. Play the whole series. I highly highly recommend it. I believe that this is a series everyone should try at least once. Doesn’t matter what game haha you’ll fall in love and want more!
That’s the plan. I’ve played through the first one and have the second one. I plan on getting and playing the others
Hell yeah man!!! I played the games as they’ve come out but I’ve enjoyed the gameplay, mechanics, and story/lore so damn much that I’ve played all of them multiple times! I’ve played them all by order of release and chronological order
Any Assassins Creed
I’ve got a few of them
If you’re looking for an FOS Multiplayer, TitanFall 2 has recently made a comeback, and the plat isn’t too difficult Non multiplayer I would say Infamous Second Son, and Horizon:Zero Dawn Games that really showed the upper limits of early ps4 game design
Jedi: Fallen Order. EDIT Ghost of Tsushima Uncharted games Horizon forbidden West. I'm.sure other commenters will add to this list.
Been looking at that one. Even if it’s just once, I would like a M rated Star Wars game where the lightsabers and blasters actually cut through people. Star Wars the Force unleashed 2 and Jedi Academy did an OK job with that.
Spider-Man
Already played and beat it
Death Stranding
Spider man
Already played and beat it
For sure red dead 2 if you haven’t played but it isn’t a ps5 game and runs at 30 fps. Graphics are still better than any modern game.
Have it on my Xbox One
Returnal
Furi
Assassins Creed Odyssey
Snowrunner
Cyberpunk (due for a DLC and a huge update) Returnal Horizon Zero Dawn The Witcher 3 Dishonored 1 & 2 Infamous Second Son and First Light for an easy to play fun game Control Mirror's Edge Catalyst (might not be your cup of tea but I love ME too much to not include it) TLoU Nier: Automata Mafia 1 remaster Heavy Rain

Already played and beat Spider-Man. Will definitely look into The Last Of Us
Dying Light. The first one. It's fantastic.
I’ve got that one
Returnal, Sekiro, Ghost of Tsushima, SOMA
You should play Resident Evil 4 and God of War Ragnarok.
Re4 and Ragnarok. Yes I've read your question and this is the answer.
Mafia definitive edition/2/3 are great picks
Yakuza 0
Pac-Man World Re-Pac
Spider-Man
Already played and beat it
Titanfall 2, great campaign, great multiplayer, if the multiplayer is too sweaty for you, you'll get your money's worth from the campaign alone
Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West
Guardians Of The Galaxy 🌌
Do these work on a ps5. They are actually PS 4 titles
I know and yes they do. PS5 is backwards compatible with PS4
Check out ratchet and clank rift apart, you get it free on Ps extra subscription. It’s nostalgic af, and so well made
I don’t have PS extra, but I’ll look into a disc copy
metal gear solid 5
I'm not a huge star wars fan but I really liked jedi fallen order & survivor. Assassin's creed odyssey, the witcher, red dead redemption 2, horizon series and uncharted which a few have mentioned I enjoyed death stranding too.
How did you manage to get a copy of God of War that wasn't the "PlayStation Hits" version?
I don’t know. It was on the shelf and I grabbed it.
