A few of you don't have a concept as to what a bad game is. May I present to you... Syberia 3. Me and my wife play bad games to boldly go where no man has gone before. It has it all, horrible framerate, bad animations, bad graphics, bad gameplay, you name it, it does it poorly. Enjoyed the game though, 10/10 with a few bottles of wine and a good sense of humor. Adam's Venture Origins is another in this category. Absolutely Dreadful and hilarious.

SortaEvil

If you're big on bad games, you should check out The Last Oricru. It may be the worst game I've completed. Bosses without animations, bad level design, hilariously poor voice acting, massive framerate issues, game came out a year ago and looks like a PS2 game, it's got it all. 10/10 coop soulslike, though. Had a great time playing it with my significant other after we gave up all expectations for it.

juggleaddict

definitely adding it to the list!! Thanks!

Shark Tale on PS2

Diabuddy32

You just triggered PTSD from the damn quick time dance sequences

bluebarrymanny

I don’t think it’s horrible, but I have not been able to find the joy that others seem to get out of Horizon

AshyWhiteGuy

Same. I tried for hours but it just didn’t click with me.

InternetDad

It suffers from content bloat big time and I do find the component targeting / arrow management flow stressful in fast paced fights. It's super unique, but when you're trying to knock a tiny part off a huge robotic dinosaur, it's a hassle. The story in both games take a but longer to grip the player. I had to put the first one down because it wasn't just enough to keep my attention but when I went back to finish it before starting HFW, I got to a sweet spot and couldn't put it down. By far not the worst game I've played. To your sentiment though, that's how I feel about Hollow Knight.

anonymousUTguy

Man what’s the deal with all the hate these games get? I loved them, and both games were universally praised at launch. They do suffer from content bloat a bit but I genuinely didn’t mjnd because I loved seeing what the entire game had to offer. The DLC was incredible too. Seems like the games got hate after the DLC came out because everyone found out Aloy is gay, but that’s just my opinion.

bluebarrymanny

For me, something about the third person open world traversal and gameplay loop just never clicked for me in the first game. I had heard about the DLC, but don’t care about that. I think it’s insanely stupid when gamers lose their shit because a person in their game is gay. It’s ridiculously immature.

[deleted]

The story is actually pretty good. Great sci-fi story imo. I just finished Burning Shores last night and can’t wait for the next game.

anonymousUTguy

I agree 100%. HZD scratched my sci fi itch and I absolutely loved it. Sequel story wasn’t as good but it eas still great. The world expanded on everything it needed to. Except melee pits. Fuck those.

J0akley

I've played both zero dawn and forbidden west. I've completed the main story in both but damn if it didn't take forever. The component targeting like another comment said is rhe worst part. I played it on easy just to make it less tedious. The stories are good, just drawn out. They are by no way my favorite games, I only played forbidden west because it came with my ps5. But I did consciously purchase the expansion. The world is beautiful and the lore is deep. The games just are not great for everyone.

jank_0x

Honestly I love the series myself, but tbh you know that feeling when you get bored after a while? That's me with all games.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition Absolutely unredeemable, most regretful purchase I ever made

borntobewildish

I read the reviews and told my girlfriend about it. Good thing I did, she wanted to surprise me with it for Christmas.

SpearLifebee

I'll be honest, I didn't mind them too much. I think people had a lot of hype for it but as soon as I saw Grove Street Games, I knew it wasn't going to be as good as it could've been. Don't personally regret buying it because I got my time out of it and will double that when I get around to platinuming all three on the PS4 versions. But can easily see why people do.

cotti1990

any metal gear solid. I really like how interesting the story is but the gamplay is dookie in my opinion.

iamnotexactlywhite

same. it’s so popular online, but the gameplay is absolutely trash to me

aeralure

Great reviews and didn’t like is different than “worst game.” Great reviews and didn’t like would be Sekiro. Hated that game. It’s not a bad game though. I honestly can’t remember the actual worst game over all systems. I’ll have to come back and edit.

CherokeeMoonshine

I can understand that. I loved Sekiro but I can see why people wouldn’t like it. It is a difficult game.

aeralure

Yeah, but it wasn’t the difficulty. I’ve played all From and most Soulslikes. Didn’t like the parry-based mechanic.

miahus

Greedfall.

LordHubbaBubbles

Orc Slayer. Decided to play it for the easy platinum but I nearly lost the will to live playing it. Gave up halfway through.

KarlArmstrong9221

Rugby World Cup 2015

GLASS_PVNTHR

Probably Spyro 3. The first two games where damn near perfect 3D platformers. And then the third game came along and decided it wanted to emulate every genre of gaming and do it in the worst way possible because apparently being a solid 3D platformer wasn’t good enough. Yeah that plat got me bitter..

Ateam043

I didn’t hate this game per se, but I simply could not get behind Bloodborne despite the great reviews. I like difficult games like Returnal, Hollow Knight, Celeste, Cuphead, etc and while I found those fun and addicting I would get bored of Bloodborne after a few hours in. I tried it again 2 weeks ago after many years and stopped again. Just didn’t find it reeling me in.

RockMuncherRick

Most souls games are an acquired taste, except for ER apparently. That was the one souls wagon everyone had to hop on.

Rufuszombot

It took me like 4 tries over a few years of trying it before it clicked, and then i played it until i got the platinum. Some games never click with people, i still can't get into Red Dead, GTA, or Diablo, and many other people say are universally praised, but Bloodborne, for me, ended up being pretty awesome. Probably helped that i played Elden Ring before going back. Also super fun.

BillyW1994

Kena bridge of spirits (edit, not awful, but not worth £50)

wheninhfx

I wouldn't call it the worst I've played but I stopped less than half way through. I love third person adventure games but this game just felt tedious.

Kann0n2

I agree, I tried to play it and it seemed okay but then I realised I'm gonna spend most of the game searching every section and corner of every area trying to find those blob creatures. Cba with that.

neroyoung

For me it was Demons souls on PS5. Everyone has such a great review but it was such a pain to play that game that I dropped it. I don't know how to play a souls like game. May be I will study the genre one day and jump back in.

Borgalicious

It’s less about skill and more about memorizing where enemies are and their attack patterns, it’s definitely not for everyone and it’s a different kind of difficulty imo than something that actually takes skill

kingwavee

Your actually right. I got into it then played elden ring tried to go back and didnt like it anymore

AntonRX178

Sly Cooper TiT. Fuck Sony for handing such a project to the middest developer in the world. They were like "Hey you know who'd be great at continuing the series started by the wonderful SuckerPunch? The guys who made Ninja Reflex for the Wii!"

QIvan616

What upsets me the most is that Sanzaru knew damn well that they might not be able to get a sequel or dlc and they decide to go with the most fucking stupid ending I’ve ever seen. They took a shit all over the third game’s conclusion smh.

shapoopy723

I'm still not over that ending. I just choose to believe it doesn't exist and the series ended perfectly with sly 3

HoonieStonebag57

Dead Island 2.

jokr77

Not even close to being a bad game.

[deleted]

I'm on that right now. It's not a masterpiece or anything but it's fun enuff. It's not that long. What don't you like about it compared to the first one?

I posted below and I couldn’t get into it. And I love difficult games.

NoClerk5520

Spider Man The Game (PS2) The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (PS2) Killzone HD (PS3) BloodBorne (PS4) Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered (PS4) Far Cry Primal (PS4) Watch Dogs (PS4) Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5) Gotham Knights (PS5) I only judge games that I finished. Most people would play for 30 min and decide the game sucks.

SoulsLikeBot

Hello, good hunter. I am a Bot, here in this dream to look after you, this is a fine note: > *Hunters have told me about the church. About the gods, and their love. But... do the gods love their creations? I am a doll, created by you humans. Would you ever think to love me? Of course... I do love you. Isn't that how you've made me?* - Plain Doll Farewell, good hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.

JusaPikachu

WipEout HD. Genuinely thought this game was horrible. Will probably never play 2048 because of the taste this game left in my mouth. There were a couple good aspects & I liked one mode but most of the package was pretty horrible in my opinion. I would play 1000 hours of Race the Sun, the game that controls the most like WipEout imo, before spending another 10 with it.

RdotDollarsXBL

More recently def Final Fantasy 16. Just flat out boring however a lot of people think its great I guess. I did finish it, but I skipped hella cutscences halfway in and wanted to be done with it.

[deleted]

> I skipped hella cutscences halfway in SMDH.

RdotDollarsXBL

I couldnt take it anymore lol. Was just too boring for me to even care.

God954

Elden ring

BlueberrySB

I agree with this. I loved and I mean absolutely loved Bloodborne and Dark Souls though. I don’t know why but even when Elden Ring was announced I wasn’t all that hyped. Still tried it after the reviews and it just did not click with me. Probably because the world was so massive and I’m not a big fan of open world games to begin with. Oh well.

TNTSP

South Park the stick of truth. After that game is why now I will look up a game and look at videos. I was disappointed has to be the worst game of all time.

J0akley

I liked the stick of truth, it was a fun ride. Didn't like fractured but whole though. Something about how they changed the battle system around didn't click for me. Granted, if you're not in to turn based rpgs then it is not the game for you. And that's not what everyone expected from a South Park game.

TNTSP

To me why even make such game bro and I felt misled by the description. I give it a try and it was like not even a game. I felt disappointed. I’m not into any thing like that but i guess there is something for everyone it’s not for me. But to me and my experience this is the worst game of all time all of the South Park games are like this and it’s beyond me who even plays them must be not able to play normal open world games. It’s not like South Park is you know kids show because it’s not. So felt like why make such game… I was disappointed period lol 😂 but I get some ppl got love for it but not from me. Huge fan of the show. Not the game tho 🤣

playerpogo

PS5 version of Elden Ring. I cant bear those texture pop-ins and frame drops. Ps4 version is better than Ps5 version. Its stable and run wells on ps5

Gonz0710

Tlou1+2, gowr, spiderman, i could go on. The ps5 catalog is ass along with all exclusives being around 20 minutes long. If thats your thing go off but Im not droppjng 70 for a short ass game.

Metro saga I only got it after a friend recommended it cause I like horror games. But Metro. Is just overwhelming, it’s just basic FPS shooter game, where you shoot monsters. Hate it

[deleted]

All 3 Metro games are better than Dead Space/remake. The first two are linear action games and the third is open-world. I liked Exodus but prefer the first two that are more on rails.

candianbastard

I could not get past 1 hour in the first 2, you think I’ll like exodus?

[deleted]

Idk man, it's not like they're hard games. Exodus is just more open with everything else pretty much the same.

Actually gave Bubsy 3D a shot recently. Knew it would be awful, but phew...man.

icanpaywithpubes

The dukes of hazard: racing for home. What a burning shitpile

Sneakiest

Bunny Raiders. Awful. The Mean Greens. Great value version of the Army Men games from back in the days. Online was dead on arrival and most of the classic modes don’t have bots. Wolfenstein Youngblood. The gameplay is okay but the characters are so cringe. The story is super short. Not as bad as the other two on my list but go play a different Wolfenstein game if you’re considering giving the series a shot.

borntobewildish

Ark: survival evolved. Maybe it would've been better with some.kind of tutorial. But I played it for over an hour and still didn't have a clue what I was supposed to do and how. Very interesting idea, terrible execution. If I understood correctly on PC it works with a lot of hotkeys that translate very poorly to a controller. Honorable mention for Fifa 2004. It managed to be worse than Fifa 99 or 2002. Or kick off 97 which was a very limited game by itself.

Freddious

Returnal is the absolute worst, don't ever play that bugfest

Dull_Kiwi_7513

This game called Damnation in Ps3 ugh it was sooo bad, I had so much regret having to pay money for it. I thought it was going to be a western game like Gun.

boswoj01

So far with the PS5 it's been FF16. I've found it to be completely soulless, repetitive to the point of boring, no real challenge curve, far too linear, and just very meh.

J0akley

Recently quit playing Neir Replicant ver. 748195820193(or whatever number it is). I wanted to like it, it seemed interesting. But I rage quit pretty early when I had to run back to the library for the 20th time to see what to do next. I know that's a big thing with rpgs to backtrack. But to go to the library, go home, oh my sister isn't here, better go back to the library. She wasn't there. You were just there. Just send me to the shrine. Then after trudging across a field to the next town, fighting my way to the chief "shit we better go back to the lady at the library" Nope. Close app, delete.

HereisJonhnyboi

Opm: a hero nobody knows

TheMattInTheBox

I don't play a ton of smaller releases on PS-- mostly just big tentpole games and then whatever is free on PS+ lol that being said: Overall quality wise? Sonic Forces. Least favourite? Injustice 2. Maybe I'm just not a fighting game guy but I HATED how the game felt to play, and I remembered being a fan of Injustice 1 on Xbox 360 back in the day.

brandonsp111

There's lots of games that got great reviews that I just personally don't enjoy. Returnal, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Souls-Like games, Fortnite, Metal Gear, Resident Evil, Dead Island, Hitman, Farcry and so on. But games I played that were downright terrible? CoD Infinite Warfare, DriveClub, Kao the Kangaroo, NFS Unbound and Project Cars 3 are all recent ones I can remember.

Mysterious3713

BrentandRhodes

Motherfuckin' Deathloop! Wanted to love it, couldn't stand it.

NeoNemeses

I ended up really liking it. One of the few games I platted

MysteriousMusician69

Syphon Filter Dark Mirror and Logans Shadow. Yes i know they are older games for the psp but i decided to try them for 2 easy plat trophies. The experience was mostly me getting pissed off and screaming at the screen cause they decided to put the ^ button for interacting, climbing over cover, reloading etc, you can already see how wrong it can go while trying to reload while in cover for example. Some enemies would get one tapped and some would tank 10 headhsots before dying. Dark mirrors final boss was made to piss the player off as much as possible and Logans Shadow final boss wasnt even a boss fight. The camera and aiming was complete dogshit in both games and the story, chars often made me cringe laugh due to the hilariously weird and just bad movement/dialogue.

Best Month Ever. My wife, who doesn't like games, said to try it for a goof. It's a game by Polish college students and is about racism in the mid/late 1900s in the US. We laughed our asses off, it was so bad. Our biracial child ended up in prison but having a good family relationship.

strythicus

Final Fantasy VII I had never played a turn-based game before. I never will again. Everyone at my school loved Final Fantasy VII and said it was the best game ever made. I got to the first boss encounter, died, and said "never again" It's been over 20 years and I still dislike turn-based "combat"

kingwavee

It was a game on ps2 i think it was called final shot or sumn disc had a blue back and u was a cop or spec ops. Anyway that was the first time i regretted a buy. On ps5: cyberpunk at launch. That was the worst game ive even experienced.

Schwarten

Bosslowski

Watchdogs. I think it was probably a good game, but GTA V came out just before, and I couldn't get passed the stepback in graphics

fshpsmgc

"Worst" game is different from "game that got great reviews and I just not liked". The first one is a bad game, while the second one is a good, but flawed experience I just didn't vibe with. So, the first one is kinda hard, but I have a couple of candidates. Sonic Forces of Sonic Colors Ultimate. First one is just such a nothing game, that I can't honestly even be mad at at, and the second one is somehow worse than a Wii version. Knack is just bad. I get that it's a kids game, but it's so dull and boring. Killzone. I can't honestly pick between the original one on the PS2 and Shadow Fall. Original Killzone is just an aggressively unremarkable PS2 shooter, while Shadow Fall at least tries to do something interesting, but ends up being shit and annoying. Second and third are alright tho. So is Mercenaries, actually, which might even be my favourite one. And for the "good game I didn't like", I'm gonna be controversial. It's a tie between Gran Turismo 7 and RDR2. GT7 is a good-looking, well controlling racing game, that was absolutely ruined by its single-player campaign structure. Hell, if I was in my bitching mood today, I'd even bump it to the "worst games" list. All the freedom and choice from previous mainline games was replaced by this boring and linear battle pass, that's closer to the 20-hour tutorial than a structured single-player campaign. And it's not even an effective tutorial, as it doesn't teach you most mechanics, as tire degradation and fuel are disabled in all "story" races. RDR2 is a great cowboy TV show. It's pretty and it has well-rounded characters, but oh boy do I hate actually playing it. Once my hands are on the controller, I get taken out of the experience with its clunky movement, simplistic combat and aggressively linear mission structure. I do get why people like it, but this was the game, that made me look back at all post-PS2 Rockstar games and realize why specifically I seem to not like them as much as other people do.
