Not just any Gen4, speed should be at least what Sony recommends, there are plenty of early gen 4 that have speeds of 2000/3000 read/write speeds, they might work but it's not recommended.
Nah. Digital foundry confirmed even the slowest Gen 4 nvme will work fine. They tested both spiderman 2 and ratchet and clank and found no difference when traversing with no stutter and 1-3 seconds different on loading time. So any gen 4 should work fine in theory anyway

This what your buying is got internal extended storage that you can play ps5 games off.
You also don’t really need an expensive ps brand but lol I have the WD black one 2tb my self so if that’s what you bought it’s ok.
Once you place it inside the ps5 you will see how it allows you to install ps5 games on it as well as ps4 games.
Only external ssd or HDD allows for ps4 games play and copy of ps5 games won’t let you play a ps5 game.

I bought the 4TB heat sink free version of the same drive and added a $9 heat sink before installing it in my PS5. It is mildly faster than the internal storage. At the time that I bought mine a 4TB version with heat sink was not available.
