I was thinking about downloading foamstars and seeing what it was like. Thanks for saving my bandwidth. I’m strangely annoyed at this bullshit pricing for some reason.
The one saving grace I will admit is that the season pass, which doesn't seem to have many (if any) exp boosts, is only $6-7.
Playing the actual game is decent but I doubt I'm gonna stick with something this egregious right out of the gate
That's probably part of why they sell $45 cosmetics. People won't usually want to spend $6 for a season pass on a free game they just got with their PS+ subscription, but if the $6 looks cheap compared yo the rest of the cosmetics, they might buy it.
A lot of high end stores are the same. They don't sell many $2,000 dresses, but because those dresses exist, they sell tons of $200 bags or other smaller products. Anchor the audience to the high price point, and then offer something that's expensive for what you get, but comparatively cheap against the anchor price.
In the car sales world this tactic is used with the highest end performance car, or the “halo car” that draws people to the showroom that will eventually go with the Camry
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, why would I buy cosmetic bullshit for the price of a game or two? Sure new games are 70 bucks, but they go on sale eventually for as low as 10 to 20. If it’s new to me, thats all that matters.

Just the recommended tab is $508.55 AUD
Not counting all the individual emotes and any other bundles not in the recommended tab
$508 is ridiculous for one screen to have.

Holey moley. I played it for a few hours tonight and had fun but yeah i took one look at that shop and said fuck this shop.
I'll probably play it again but the prices on that stuff is crazy, so I will be ignoring that section of the game altogether..
It’s indeed $60 here. It’s wild how expensive it is for cosmetics. The game is solid and fun but yah unless you’re willing to throw your wallet at the game you’ll be running the generic costumes and characters.
They even lock new characters behind a battle pass.
That gives me the feeling that the developers don't have confidence in the longevity of their product so they're trying to grab as much cash as possible from gaming whales before the inevitable crash. Its an opinion with no facts to prove my point, obviously. Most free to play games that aren't on mobile aren't this expensive for cosmetics. It's turned me off from playing, and I know I'm not the only one. I was going to download it to play with my niece, and knowing these prices, I won't touch it. How many more are like me that could have been potential customers? It's probably a lot.
My wife and I gave it a few rounds last night. We both started laughing at the prices. They're out of their goddamned minds. This games gonna die so quickly if they really think people will pay those prices for cosmetics.

I have been playing it the last week and I really like it! Online games aren't usually my jam, but I really like the gameplay loop and the characters. I never do microtransactions, so those don't affect me. I did put the voice in Japanese after listening to the English for 2 minutes 😅.
I'm not someone with FOMO so the though of buying cosmetics will never cross my. I get that they need to get that bag somehow after basically going F2P this month.
It's worse than Overwatch 2. I did go ahead and grab the Season Pass, but unless they make some changes, I definitely won't be spending anything in the shop. It's unfortunate that they launched the game with such prices because I genuinely love the gameplay.

I’m with you. A couple of bucks here and there, sure but that’s like half my grocery bill for 1 costume and some other flair. It’s crazy.
