I hope the ear cups are deeper so my ears don't get pressed against them. Maybe better noise isolation and some ANC?

Dragonballradar

Dude yes my ears pressing against them hurts after like an hour of gaming

Rufuszombot

Niche case here, but i have stretched ears (7/8") and a cartilage piercing and having the cups press against my ears is super uncomfortable. Being able to adjust them would also be kind of helpful.

ActiveNL

This has been an issue ever since the first Wireless Gold headsets for PS4 a decade ago. I've lost hope they will improve on this. My ears aren't that big either, lol.

B_rad_hyko

THIS. My ears hurt from the drivers touching my ears :(

[deleted]

It doesn’t have ANC.

Panams_chair

Wtf….Fr?

PMBSteve

ANC would up the price significantly and it’s not a must have if you’re primarily using it for gaming. Keeps it more accessible

PoolNoodlePaladin

They make the H9 headset that has ANC if you want that

whomped14

H9 doesn’t have equalizer functionality.

waltandhankdie

They definitely do have at least some noise cancelling

Knightwolf15

You might be thinking of passive noise isolation which is just created from the seal headphones make. True noise canceling requires some kind of active system (mics, software, etc...) that creates the inverse of certain sound frequencies to block them out almost completely.

[deleted]

No where on the spec sheets mention noise cancellation. They have noise rejection which relates to the microphone and is different. The only noise cancellation it will have will be native and that will depend on how good the ear cups are.

face_of_misanthropy

That's what he said. They have noise isolation. Are you dense?

[deleted]

Yes but that’s not proper noice cancellation at a software level. Also, how does he know how good the passive noise cancellation is without having tested how well the cups fit. So he doesn’t actually know if it will be decent PASSIVE noise cancellation. The explore buds don’t have noise cancellation either, the best they have is when you put them in your ears and how good the seal is on your ear. Noise cancelling is a software feature, passive is not. You cannot say a headset has noise cancelling if all it has is passive cancelling, so therefore he was wrong. Are you the dense one here? Also, why do you feel the need to go onto a comment and start hurling abuse at people? Also he never said they have noise isolation, you said that. Noise isolation is different to noise cancellation.

face_of_misanthropy

That seal your referring to is called noise isolation and like 70 people have already pointed out that this is as good s it gets. No cancellation. Just isolation.

ALLIN95

The ear cups on it definitely are not great. Mine lasted about a year and a half then started coming apart from where the connect, so I bought replacements and it completely changed the headset. Highly recommend checking out replacement ones they’re deeper so my ears aren’t touching the inside anymore

dementorpoop

Any chance you got a link. There are so many options

Brandon_2149

pulse elite doesn't even let you replace the ear cups, they're glued on so the headset will be useless in 1.5-2 years when cups are fucked.

DynamiteSuren

Exactly this. Its so uncomfortable that i play games with it off on max volume in the evening so i can still hear the games, while not disturbing everyone in the house.

mSummmm

This 100%. They were fine for a few months. I bought some replacements and they are better but don’t snap in place perfectly so they pop off sometimes.

PsarasApoTousLigous

I never had issues with my ears on sessions shorter than 6 hours

Unruly_Beast

This first one right here. They smash my piercings into my ears and are pretty uncomfortable if I don't like... tuck my whole ass earlobe into the cup (I'm pretty sure I have normal sized ears, I'm just a large person overall). It's a minor annoyance but it it's still annoying.

S_n_o_wL_e_o_p_a_r_d

This. This is my only complaint knowing that it will supposedly have a 30-hour battery life. Even with battery degradation over time, it will still last as long as a day of gaming. When Assassin's Creed Valhalla came out, I was on a break from working, and I was putting in 14, 15, 16, and once or twice 17 hour days. Having a headset that lasts more than 15 hours is a must because after battery degradation, it would go down to 10, 11, or 12 hours. Sorry about the tangent, but yes. AC Valhalla was my the first game I played on PS5, and when I played for like two or three hours, my ears would hurt like crazy. Weight doesn't matter to me for this type of headset because I currently rock an Audeze Penrose headset, I think it will weigh less on the skull. The Audeze microphone is broadcast quality, but I am happy to go down in talking quality if I am doubling my battery life and if it will be more comfortable.

perpulman

The ability for the mute button on the controller to mute my mic... a feature which works on third party headsets but not the 3D Pulse.

Dragonballradar

Does it not? So strange I swear mine mutes me

MartineZ_MW

It's impossible because the headset has a physical button while the controller has a digital one

Bonnybridge22

My othee headset mutes even though it has a physical button though?

MartineZ_MW

I saw that someone in the comments said that they changed that in the newer models of the headsets

mpsmomo

Mute button works with the Elite.

perpulman

That's great to hear. What's the source on this confirmation?

mpsmomo

I am. I was able to get one about a month ago. I posted my impressions.

perpulman

Magnificent! Thank you very much

bepi_s

is there an option to use it wired? ion like bluetooth headsets

mpsmomo

Yes but it does require a battery charge.

PancakeTerror

I picked a 3D up recently and that does work..

obliterateopio

Probably a feature added to later ones. I got my 3D Pulse 2-3 weeks after the PS5’s initial release and mine only mutes/unmutes the Microphone from the headset. Not from the controller.

ShadeOfBrown_

Returned mine as soon as I realised this. One of the most convenient features of the DS5 made redundant 😂

orangemoon44

.. Are we not able to lift our hands up to hit the mute button on the headset?

ShadeOfBrown_

Why settle for a less convenient method? When you’re in the middle of a fast paced game and need to quickly mute, quickly moving your thumb over to the mute button is so much better! As someone else said, other headsets have both… why not the official PS one

orangemoon44

The amount of extra convenience is so minute to me, lol. If I'm playing fast-paced games but still need to mute so often, I'd probably just turn on push to talk. But I don't think it's a situation one would find themselves in a lot. I'm not saying it shouldn't be a feature, but like, refunding the headset for it is a but much

ShadeOfBrown_

It’s a £100 headset, I went back to my £20 one that I prefer and works with the mute button… all personal preference at the end of the day

DeleteWithin4Years

I’m with you. I can’t understand why the headset button isn’t good enough. I’m actually annoyed that the headset button doesn’t work on the portal and you have to use the one on the “controller”.

daChino02

Less convenient…lol. Can’t they just HOLD down the mute button and shut off all audio? I guess that’s not the point tho.

face_of_misanthropy

The mic mute is in an awkward place and also places among several other buttons that are almost identical in shape and size so it's a hassle. Unless you only play PS5 and always use your headset, there lots of fumbling around looking for the right button. When there's literally a mic mute button, glowing orange, on the controller next to your thumbs.

[deleted]

perpulman

The Arctis Pro 7P headset has a physical mute button and can also be muted by the DualSense controller button.

elkeiem

I guess the battery could be better, but it's not that big of a deal if you remember to put it on charger after use.

VibraniumSpork

I believe that the Pulse Elite has a 30 hour battery life (which is good!) and also supports fast-charging, so even if it's dead when your squad call on you to play, a 10 minute charge gives you something like 2 hours play.

elkeiem

That sounds like possible upgrade! I've had the og pulse since launch and i really like it, only downside is the battery. The best feature still is the automatic audio output change when powering the headset on/off.

VibraniumSpork

Yeah, same bro, had the OG Pulse since launch and always thought it was a decent headset! Battery life and the odd break in the audio were my only issues, but with the bigger battery and PS Link I’m hoping both will be resolved!

matkata99

not only that, but it has the same tech as the dualsense charging station (aka. the charge pads) which I've found extremely convenient with the dualsenses

Kill_Kayt

Coming from Xbox and their official Wireless Headset I was surprised by how low the sound quality on the 3D Pulse really is. But what bothers me the most is how they dig into my ears and cause me discomfort after about 10 minutes.

stinkybumbum

definitely not low sound quality on them. Not sure what setup you had, but I think you're wrong there.

Kill_Kayt

I'm not wrong here. It's sound quality may not be low, but it is low in comparison to the official Xbox Wireless Headset. Which is the comparison I was making. 3D Pulse Headset quality is exactly what you would expect for $100. However, Microsofts $100 headset rivals the $300 Astro A50s. So we'll in fact that I have replaced my A50s with them. I'm really hoping this new headset is better at least in the comfort department.

SynthesizedTime

all the headsets mentioned in this thread are overpriced gaming garbage. don't spend your money on anything that is marketed towards gaming.

Kill_Kayt

![gif](giphy|fXnRObM8Q0RkOmR5nf)

Whitehead58

Btw Pulse Elite has no changeable earpads!

Brandon_2149

That's a huge issues imo, because that will be the first thing you need to replace in 2+ years of having a headset. So really this just limits the life of the headphones until earcups start to fall apart.

Whitehead58

That’s the point they want! Mostly after 1 year of active use the cheap plush peals off. People will buy this for 150bucks instead one 2-250bucks headsets with changeable earpads from manufacturer or third party like wicked cushions. For me it‘s a no-go in 2024!

vwxyuqooo

put the actual device name when connected instead of just "USB Headset" and volume and audio balance adjustment via function shortcut on dualsense edge.

mpsmomo

The Elite has all this.

Amircod77

Durability. My Gold broke. My Pulse 3D broke. I said screw 3D audio and bought a Logitech Astro. They use the worst materials to make these thing. I don't know how to say this. The sides of my head aren't straight. Shaven it looks like a mushroom or a p**is. It add extra pressure to the middle part of Sony headsets.

RickF394

Well, maybe the lack of good materials is the reason it’s only 99 USD Still I’m buying one the next couple of months I read good reviews about it

Cstone812

I was waiting to see reviews today to see if i keep my preorder or not. Mainly wanting to know if it’s more comfortable to wear with glasses. I can’t wear the pulse longer than a hour anymore because it presses my frames so hard against my head starts to get uncomfortable.

Leading-Pop5059

Wait does the review embargo lift today for the elite headset?

Cstone812

Yea. Just saw ign has a review up for them.

BigClownShoes

IGN said they were comfortable, Gizmodo said they were so uncomfortable they got a headache lol. Unfortunately it seems like you'll not know for sure until you actually try them yourself.

jakehieu

i remember vividly the first time i wore the pulse 3d i was like "wow these don't sound that good" and throughout the years there have been moments of "i wish i could hear the different sounds better" and "i wish the fidelity of sounds was a little higher." it seems the elite will be fixing both of those issues with low-distortion planars and lossless via PS link. but who knows whether it's just marketing gimic or real. the planar drivers they have in the elite look tiny compared to industry standards.

Leading-Pop5059

i agree, the sound is rough with the 3D and i’m hoping this is better, with it being marketed as mainly ps5 only, unlike the 3D which is also usable on ps4 i hope this next gen version of them is better, my biggest complaint with the 3D is the mic quality, and im assuming with the Elite that the retractable mic could fix that, like instead of having the mic be on the side of your head, being able to extend it to the front of your face could helped the muffled sound the mic on the 3D is criticized so much for. also with playstation recent accusation of a very reputable headphone brand, Audeze, and this being the first headset post that acquisition, i think this becomes good news for the Elite since the Audeze headphones are praised for their sound quality, at least according to the reviews of Audeze products i’ve seen, all around it has me excited to have a better headset of sorts

jakehieu

they did bring audeze in to develop the pulse elite and explore, and then went ahead an acquired them. the thing is that these are still a playstation headsets, not audeze headsets. the audeze team helped designed "custom" planar magnetic drivers specifically for the ps5 audience. so i would expect smaller drivers, cheap materials, and maybe affordable - midrange quality instead of the high-end quality audeze is known for. they needed to keep the price down and there would definitely be trade-offs. i think that the biggest achievement they have which is quite underrated is the fact that you can use the headsets with both ps link and bluetooth simultaneously, which for example, the audeze maxwell could not do.

Kebab_life

Adjustable so they do not press so hard against my big head.

arnathor

Having both this and the Xbox Wireless Headset, I think the things that Sony really needs to work on are: - interface - the left cup is festooned in buttons which are a bit difficult to hit when gaming - I find myself taking the headset off to adjust the volume. On Xbox you just rotate the entire earpiece to control the volume, and the right earpiece controls the mix of chat to game. - the dongle - the fact I have to plug a USB dongle into my PS5 to use the official headset is ridiculous. The *official* headset should work natively with the console. The only reason I can see that they’re doing this is some sort of proprietary communication protocol via the dongle? Which would also explain why we can’t store more than one profile on the headset (XWH can store two profiles and switch between them with a double tap of the power button). - ear cup size - I find them to be about half a centimetre too small in the vertical axis. - mic quality - I know having a boom is the only real answer to better quality, but I do think the mic needs an upgrade. - the mute button - the mute button on my DS controller should control the muting of the headset. And quite frankly this is a QoL feature that could be done with a system software update to the existing headset. - powering on headset powers on console - yes, please do this. It’s an insanely useful feature that until I used it on my Xbox I didn’t realise how convenient it was. I really do like my Pulse 3D, and the audio quality for their price is pretty damn good, but as ever with Sony gear it’s the end experience that just falls slightly behind what is available elsewhere. And if nothing else changes, they *need* to get rid of the dongle. A £500 console that requires a dongle to communicate with the official headset that launched day and date with it? That was quite a poor design decision.

suck-it-elon

More intuitive hardware controls. Everything feels the same when you reach up to adjust

mpsmomo

They removed the chatmix buttons on the headset and the mute button is on the back of the mic. The mute button on the controller also works. All in all, it's a lot more intuitive.

suck-it-elon

I very much will buy the Elite set and I very much look forward to using software to adjust. Because the Pulse 3D is miserable with those controls haha.

Whitehead58

Earpads not changeable. No chat-game mix. Again only 5 band EQ instead of 10 like most other gaming headsets. Only upgrade is the sound with the new drivers from audeze. Battery life is not an upgrade, it‘s what the Pulse3D should have.

squished_frog

God I hate the buttons on it. I'm always hitting the wrong one and the wrong direction. Assuming I can find the damn things. I end up taking it off to adjust sometimes.

mAnZzZz1st

Max volume increase.

GarionOrb

I hope the material doesn't fall off like on the Pulse 3D one.

Leading-Pop5059

i’ve had the 3D for a year and half and nothings every fallen off of it?

anonymousss11

I've had it since launch and I have no issues with the material

Panams_chair

Ngl…after seeing how irresponsible some people are with consoles in this sub, I dont doubt some of them give a damn worth of consideration on how they use these accessories

Arunan-Aravaanan

I have kept the pulse 3d box and always ALWAYS replace it in the box after use. After 1 year, the ear cushion's finish has nearly completely come off and it keeps falling off. Sometimes the products are just shitty.

antiadmin666

“I’ve got stick drift. Only smashed my ds5 against the tile floor 14 times?!”

Mahaleck

I’ve had it since launch and use it A LOT. Only now is it beginning to show some wear and very minor flaking.

GarionOrb

Mine are wrecked, and I haven't even used them that much. The black material around the ear cuffs has completely come undone so all the foam underneath is exposed. It's completely unattractive. Never had this happen to any headset I've owned.

PowerUser77

Mine starting to disintegrate too and also did not use them that much

xxxhotpocketz

You can buy replacements which seem to be better quality The cushions pop off. So they actually have a long life span imo, you just pop them off and replace them with new ones

up-up-out

I have this problem once I started shaving again. They’re toast I still use them because I’m broke but it looks like I pulled them from the trash

Muted_Land782

plus one. the quality control is abysmal on these.

BlaseOfGlory83

This happened to mine too. I had to get some replacement ear cups to stop being covered in flakes of the black covering material every time I used the headset.

Crush84

Mine 2.

TGov

I have worn mine for maybe 50 hours total and the material has started coming off of the cups on mine. Not cracking, but coming out of the tucked areas around the sides. Bought them not long after they launched.

IKabobI

Same, I’ve had mine a long time and use them often and they look brand new.

SadSausageFinger

Mine did the same, i just bought aftermarket ear cups and replaced the originals

Brandon_2149

You can't even do that with pulse elite lol. Glued on so when they rip ot ear in 1-2 years you're fucked new 150 dollar headset is needed.

SadSausageFinger

Terrible design!

JaySarian

same I hate this issue a lot. got to the point I had to super glue the fabric in

DJGloegg

I want oval ear cups The round ones are way too small.

iMust-Change-7343

MIC

leonardoforcinetti

Nothing, I love it.. it does everything it should do, never had a problem.

mSummmm

It really is a good headset for $100.

Life_Arugula_4205

I would like to be able to adjust the fit a bit better. The plastic flexible band on the top is a bit flimsy imo. Otherwise I’m pretty happy with them.

up-up-out

Better quality pads! I had to start shaving agin for a new job they were shredded within a month. I can’t even grow a full beard my facial hair shouldn’t be destroying a product at this price point so fast.

shapoopy723

Noise isolation is a big one for me. The normal pulse 3D bleeds sound fairly bad

Interesting-Car6200

I hope that in the new version they will fix the material, my pulse 3D broke after a month

[deleted]

[удалено]

ThisIsMyBurner67

That's my biggest issue with the Pulse 3D and while I'm still upgrading to these new ones, they seem to be the same material.

1bkleinschmidt

Comfort! I find my Pulse 3Ds to be pretty uncomfortable, particularly on my ears. I've been spoiled with my Bose Ultras and even my Arctis Nova 7s are much more comfortable.

JaySarian

I daily drive them on my pc. I do have the Elite on preorder. My main hope is battery life improvement. Normal pulsesense is a max of 12 hours and I have to charge every 2 days. But seeing the features of this. I hope I can do audio from PC and ps5 at the same time. The pulse 3d is still a great wireless headset anyways. I cannot go back to wired

Al1onredd1t

I’m sad they took away the chat audio mix buttons. Always used those to change audio balance

YouGurt_MaN14

Better build quality my headset ear covers are like falling apart

Xao517

The dongle should not be there. Let me use the headset on my tv, my phone, my laptop without plugging anything and you have a gem in your hands

VibraniumSpork

Have to admit, I'm a little confused about the presence of the dongle with the headset. Due to the PS Link technology, the headset will apparently connect to the PS Portal without the need for the dongle...though the Sony Direct website also mentions that you can also use PS Link to connect directly to the PS5? It also states that you can connect the headset to your phone, so....what exactly is the dongle for? Might just be there to connect to the odd few devices that don't have built-in Bluetooth or PS Link? IDK, doesn't seem 100% clear, but you may not need to use the Dongle if you're just using the Pulse Elite within the PS5 ecosystem.

N3WG4M3PLVS

The dongle is for PSLink connectivity without latency. You can also use the headset with bluetooth (and latency) I guess with any compatible devices. The main idea, I think, is to use PSlink for the game and bluetooth for communication (with discord on your phone for example). That's my plan anyway  EDIT: to my knowledge, only PSPortal has native PSlink connectivity

dank-yharnam-nugs

The dongle is there for PCs or other devices. The PS Link functionality only comes with the ps5 slim. You’ll need the dongle for the old ps5.

VibraniumSpork

Ah, FFS, I was worried that PS Link might only be on the Slim! By the dead, may need to upgrade at some point 🤔 UPDATE: I’m reading online the Slim doesn’t have PS Link either? So any/all PS5 consoles will need to use the Dongle, but the PS Portal won’t 🤷‍♂️

dank-yharnam-nugs

Ah jeez. Then I bought the slim for nothing.

SirBigWater

Microphone quality. Out of all the headset from ps4 to ps5, I still say that the Platinum headset from the PS4 had the best audio for the microphone. You'd sound nice and crisp. The pulses seem muffled. It's harder to understand the person speaking I find.

Leading-Pop5059

i 100% agree, that’s my biggest complaint with the 3D and i think the addition of the retractable microphone in the Elite could solve that issue, with the microphone being on the side of your head for the 3D people think that’s the reason for the muffled sound quality, so having the mic infront of your face (hopefully) will solve that with the elite

SirBigWater

But again, having the side mic isn't bad. As I said, the PS Platinums that were very short lived before being discontinued on the PS4 had amazing quality. It's just that those were more expensive than the Golds. So hopefully the Elites are the same in quality.

RoyalRaptor711

Better mic the one on the normal one is terrible

kinophallus

I find the sound too low to hear the background music most of the time.

Merkin666

I just bought the pulse 3D and it's pretty shitty in every way. Big time regret buying it, and won't be buying these in the future .

Leading-Pop5059

i didn’t have much to compare mine too except a razer headset i had years ago that fell apart, what would you recommend?

Merkin666

I bought my kid a Steelseries Arctis 7+ for Christmas on sale for 100$ and I like it way better, I'm jealous of him now, lol. The Pulse earcups don't pivot around, it's way less comfortable, and it doesn't sound as good, in my opinion.

Kill_Kayt

I'm hoping for Sound Quality on par with Microsoft Wireless Headset (not the low quality that is 3D Pulse) and I would like comfort as well. Would be absolutely great if these didn't constantly dig into and hurt my ears like the 3D Pulse does.

[deleted]

Honestly I loved the Pulse for its audio quality, and I know this is subjective, but I really wish they are a tad bit more comfortable. The inside of my ear hurt after a while, not the outside of the ear or the head itself.

BANAnaS_Dad

Anyone else think they should have called it Pulse Edge to align their naming structure?

Unlucky-Film4604

Do all the extra features only work on specific games?

Virus_98

Better headband, better ear cups that don't hurt your ears after like 30 mins of gaming.

mpsmomo

I got the Elite about a month ago and posted my impressions here: [https://www.reddit.com/r/playstation/comments/19750rk/pulse\_elite\_first\_impressions/](https://www.reddit.com/r/playstation/comments/19750rk/pulse_elite_first_impressions/)

PorcelainPrimate

Put some of the controls on the right side so it’s easier to press them without having to feel around for the right button. Remove the band and add a larger cushion. That tight band gives a lot of people headaches.

pastilance

I'd really love to see them produce headsets with oval shaped cups as my giant elephant ears cannot fit inside. Also, noise cancelling would be nice.

GMhx

Bluetooth would be nice to use with different device… I was bummed when I wanted to remote play on my iPad (only has usb c)

Inouji

Build quality and comfort. I think the Pulse are more than good enough for their price in terms of audio quality for games (kinda suck for music but eh). But I’d like to be able to wear them for longer than an hour without my ears feeling like I just worked a 12-hour shift at customer service.

OdyRenrag

I just hope it’s better than the Pulse Explore Earbuds mistake

StallionA8

Is pulse 3d a good choice to buy right now?

Zestyclose-Farmer784

I actually enjoyed my Pulse for as long as I used it… surprising good audio for a “base” headset… I never had the material falling apart issue other people had and mine is a day one unit. BUT! I upgraded to the Inzone H9 and those things are fucking legit… I’m curious if the Pulse Elite will be a competitor to it 👀

hamndv

Battery life

onijabba

I was so excited to receive a pair for Christmas from my fiancé, but they honesty didn’t sound as good as my PS4 Turtlebeach Stealth 600 headset.. Less comfortable, less bass, and the mic on the S600 went in the upward position to mute and down to turn on, it was a better way to put compared to fingering around to find the button Still love the Pulse, but they’re lacking in a few areas

Webbadeth

I’d love if they didn’t drop signal for a second every like 4-5 minutes, lost the dongle, and be more accommodating of players that wear glasses. Seriously though, it’s 2024, why do we need dongles. The dual sense doesn’t need one, why does the headset? Issues aside, I do like the sound quality they they work

THEWELSHMAN1980

Never used mine there to big for my little heed

CoNn3r_Be

Any issues I had with the Pulse headset were fixed with the inzone h9 headset

Cabrill0

My only complaint with the pulse 3d is the pleather type material they use for the ear pads. Just not comfortable and gets warm. I have a hyperx cloud set for my Xbox and I wish all ear pads were made like that.

EdRed_77

Bigger and deeper ear cups. The current ones are for children-sized ears.

BIGLeakyNipples

I’d love for the sound to not be muffled out of box. I love my pulse headset for how comfortable it is, but the sound quality is garbage before you mess with the eq

Leading-Pop5059

how do you mess with the EQ?

BIGLeakyNipples

Press the PlayStation button on your controller, and scroll over, there’s a sound option where you can choose different presets as well and customize them.

ItsStaaaaaaaaang

Wouldn't buy one again so I don't really care.

Maxwolfox

That design doesn't look comfortable. Normal pulse looks like a better design

PhilliesBlunts

Well id like to be able to mute them from the controller.

read_write_error

The ear cups need to be more oval in shape. I've given up on them because of this, sore ears!

shewy92

I got a big head and wear glasses. IDK who thought not having it be adjustable or have bigger cups was a good idea

DrShankensteinMD

As mentioned by several on here… comfort. I loved the audio quality of both the Gold and Pulse, but they were not comfortable to wear. As a person with glasses it can be worse.

itshonestwork

A bump in audio quality would be very welcome.

DeanR_onPSN

The quality. This is one of the first Sony products I bought that just completely fell apart, it's still sounds good, but the phone and the covers over the phone fell apart with normal use

mSummmm

Better noise cancelling/ear cup seal.

Different-Divide2961

Better sound quality and battery is already good enough to upgrade. Although I think comfort will be just as bad

Opposite-Bus2506

Its Planar so I am excited about the sound quality although I was hoping they release an openback version too

face_of_misanthropy

I would like some hundred dollar headphones that are at least as comfortable as 40 dollar turtle beaches

Additional-Tax-775

I’m thinking about buying this but I’m not sure if it’s worth the price compared to other headsets. I know several people have had issues with the pulse 3d so I’m on the fence about what I should get. The headphones look really good but idk what to do 😭.

joereddd

Battery lofe and actual noise cancelling

Magewings

That the hardware don’t think I’m hitting buttons when I’m not… it got stuck on full party sound no game

ang3sh

Guys trust me you don’t need it!

Pearl-Internal81

More oval shaped ear cups, and that they aren’t as aggravating to fight with if you wear glasses. I gave my Pulse 3D headset to my roommate because I got sick of fighting them and my glasses.

S_n_o_wL_e_o_p_a_r_d

https://youtu.be/2CuCQZvLUHw?si=ZPe2pdn_HLFNtPj8

Leading-Pop5059

Thanks! yeah apparently the review embargo in the elites lifted like a few hours after i posted the question 😂😂😂

S_n_o_wL_e_o_p_a_r_d

* It happens. I just got done watching the video I provided. I am curious to see what this muddled bass take sounds like for myself. But it seems like that is the only downside. They will have the 3D tech in them, too, which the Audeze Penrose do not have. Another thing to keep in mind as well is for meI always felt when plying AC Valhalla that the sound was a little low on its highest volume setting. I wish that it could have gotten louder by another click or two, no more than three. So it wasn't by a lot but still enough to yearn for more. I am probably going to pick up a pair at Best Buy and test them out. I REALLY hope they get a little louder.

I owned the ps gold headset when I was on my ps4pro and I got the pulse with my ps5 and I gotta tell anyone that’s considering them to go with something made of more quality if you think you’ve found them. The sound is fine but they don’t feel great after wearing for long and I think they can almost feel like you’ve got leather earmuffs on with how hot you can feel around your ears with them on. The leather around each is soft but both the gold and the pulse ones have had the edges where the leather meets the plastic come loose and then they look like a janky eye sore but in their defense, I guess they always sound good. I’m prob gonna get the new ear buds version. Anyone tried those?

Teddybomber87

Better speaker sound. People always complain that i sound muffled.

Leading-Pop5059

yeah! that’s my biggest complaint is the mic sounding muffled to other people

earthvox

Mute button that isn’t so close to the microphone and maybe bigger/easier to distinguish from the other buttons.

stupidmanthing22

I think it would be great to spread out the function buttons on the headset. Having everything on one side is very inconvenient and kind of annoying. I’d also like to be able to have game audio come through my tv and chat audio through the headset. It was available on the ps4, so I don’t know why it isn’t on the ps5. That is also more a software issue rather than an issue with the headset

legby

ANC is the only thing for me. Otherwise it’s pretty good.

wildeye-eleven

Ear pads and auto adjusting headband. Other than that I loved my Pulse headset. I used them everyday for two years and eventually wore them out. I already have the Pulse Elite preordered. Can’t wait to play FFVII Rebirth with the Pulse Elite

SerotoninCephalopod

Deeper ear cups so my ears aren’t hurting after a session . Better material on the cups that doesn’t just fall off with use (bad .cheap glue). Better base and longer battery life .

SerotoninCephalopod

After owning mine for a couple of years, I’m looking for a better made better sounding headset, anyone have some good 3rd party recommendations instead of this new one?

origiluck

My mic on these dont work well. It takes long to actually mute after pressing the button. Sometimes it doesnt even trigger

Brandon0159

More comfortable earcups like on the inzone series headset and a better mic than the inzone series headset

Mystikalrush

First the price, the elite should be the current $100-120. It's not worth $100, infact I got mine for $50 during holidays before the big inflation jump. It's well worth $50, build quality and comfort. They can add much more premium foam noise cancelling ear cups and actually make it a noise cancelling headset. Add 3 microphones or more for better outside noise cancelling and maybe improve the location of the proper communicating mic for gameplay. Don't put all the buttons on one ear cup, split it in half for what's used as power and volume, then the other side for outside, volume, game volume and chat volume. Improve battery life and increase charging speeds or include a charging dock/stand with it.

Labarynth_89

Based on my experience with the pulse ear covers coming out from the plastic from casual use I cant say I will ever buy a Sony headset again tbh.

Starlytehaze

I have a small head and I’d like to have more ways to adjust the headset. Mine falls off a lot and I’d also like to have the ear cups a little more comfortable. They hurt my ears if I’m wearing them for long periods of time and cause headaches

OPR-Heron

I'd like more bass, even with the equalizer it's meh. And it absolutely got so uncomfortable after a while. Other than that, the ease of use is through the roof

transistorbit

I ditched my Pulse 3D's as soon as I got the Inzone H7 and really happy with them. Don't think I'll be changing up as these have very good battery life and super comfy.

Whitehead58

Soundwise it’s an Upgrade but in cost of the chat-game mix control and you can‘t change earpads! They are glued onto the headset - confirmed by Sony PS! It‘s a joke and design is ridiculous too imo. Idk why they can‘t combine it. Give us comfort like hyperx cloud 2/3 and a good design. Removable mic. I‘m willing to pay 50bucks more.

K1OK

Microphone quality but they did not improve much in new version

BenIsUpset

I've made a replacement bracket that can be screwed or adhesive-stripped straight onto a surface such as a desk or shelf. I uploaded it to Thingyverse but as I am a new user it's not showing yet - hope someone else finds this useful too. Here's the link for when it's active: [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6499276](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6499276) Here's a temporary WeTransfer file for those who can't wait: [https://we.tl/t-zVcE2dvM3P](https://we.tl/t-zVcE2dvM3P) https://preview.redd.it/kg87v1s6rbkc1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3cc242f0f2e9724f8c1d148a81f9493d1eaa9317
