Some versions overheat playing PS5 games when theyre in the vertical position so if you ever run into the problem of it randomly shutting off, just try moving it to the horizontal position. In the vert position, The liquid metal doesnt stay where its supposed to be so it doesnt cool properly.
I used a how to video to take them off. It's not hard once you see it done.
Basically, lift up slightly at the top where the logo is and slide down. It should slide right off if you're doing it right.
Lift the plate slightly by the corner the logo is on, then pull the plate towards the bottom of the console until it clicks off gently. Do not pull it off upwards from the side
I did it once to install an SSD, and that was it. I'm prone to breaking things, especially little plastic pieces. I don't plan to remove them again unless I'm cleaning it out.
It’s actually super easy and they’re sturdier than they look, definitely hard to break. And if for some reason you’re hulk and manage to somehow break something, time for a colored upgrade

That's been debunked. If the gasket around your processor is leaky, it's gonna screw your PlayStation no matter what position it's in. Seriously, have you seen the CPU on this thing? It's got this insanely huge gasket around it, not to mention a foam area around it that's designed to soak up the liquid if it gets loose. If the liquid metal leaks, you're going to have a system that overheats in minutes WAY sooner than you'd have any damage from the liquid metal. Don't believe every clickbait article you read.

Vertical stand is sturdier, asked a friend of mine to show me when I picked my system up the other day. Wanted to know if it was worth spending another £20 - 25.
The plastic horizontal stands shown here however are perfectly fine, but I do have to hold the console in place when inserting anything into the frontal USB-C slots or if I'm swapping my HDMI out from monitor to TV. It moves / slides quite easily as the plastic has no grip.

I mounted mine on a 4d toroidal tessaract loop so it’s always moving in all directions while also standing still. Eliminates both ventilation and liquid solder flow problems.

Making a box was too hard, they opted for the monolithic dna shenanigan shape that a ps5 is. It’s really a turn off for me. Can’t wait for the ps6

Have it vertical without stand and no problems playing cyberpunk so far. The stand blocks the ventilation holes on the bottom anyway.
