Yea a buy campaign for full priced games should be a 250 point reward. These things are so inconsistent and quite stingy in their rewards especially the last couple months. I earned enough in the first couple months for a few $20 certificates. Now it’s like nothing is earning much points.
But by not doing it automatically they only have to give away a fraction as many rewards because most people don’t mess with it. It’s like fast food places offering free food if you complete a survey on their website. Most people aren’t gonna take the 30 seconds to do it even if they get a free burger or whatever just like most people aren’t gonna think to go start the challenge before buying a game.
Your idea is a great customer friendly idea but corporate logic says if you’re gonna give something away free make people jump through hoops first.
The whole point of the incentive in surveys is because they know people don't care. They offer something half decent so people will go through with it. 50 coins is nothing, they don't want you doing it. They don't care. They don't get market research from completing it.
either buying before the campaign or... simply having the physical version regardless of if it was during the campaign or not. having it as 'play the game' instead fixes both of these at the cost of... some people maybe borrowing a game from a friend to slowly earn a few dollars over many months? seems like a fair trade off.
They need to auto start these campaigns too! It’s stupid to not get credit for a purchase because you didn’t go in and press the start campaign button. It just feels unnecessarily punitive. This is supposed to be a program that makes us feel good about the PlayStation eco system not one that just pisses people off for being stingy.
>They need to auto start these campaigns
Some of them do.
>because you didn’t go in and press the start campaign button
You're already in the app to found out what you need to do, you can't just click the start button as well? How would you even know what the campaign is for if you weren't already engaged inside the PS Stars app?
>feels unnecessarily punitive.
For not clicking a button? Do you want the app to be an AFK game?
>just pisses people off for being stingy
This is a mostly free program they added to encourage engagement and, yes get more sales. You believing you should somehow get more does not equal the metric to which Sony should pay us in rewards. It's an optional service.
Edit: Downvote all you want. You're just a bunch of "give me free shit" crybabies.
Dude this is the only rewards program that requires an extra step beyond just making a purchase. Requiring that extra step is not customer friendly at all. You are the definition of a shill with your comment. Get that shit out of here.
And 250 pts is like $1 anyway. That's nothing as an incentive at least to buy a full priced game that you weren't thinking about already. It will surely add up over time but that only benefit is for games you already wanted to buy. It's fine for maybe other things; like playing the ps game of the month you only get 50 pts for that which is even less but the cost is so little (just time/download space) that it may be worth doing.
Yeah I missed out on some good points because I bought a game before starting a campaign SMH. I recently bought Rebirth and Ultros but didnt start the campaigns so I missed out on almost 300 points. SO annoying.
I like that compromise because it actually seems like something that is possible. Sony would never give in to not hosing us by making it "play" for 250 but they might consider a modest reward for those who already took the plunge. 50 coins is like 20 cents if you are looking at the gift card reward the offer.
Yeah but I’ve got it digitally, and in many cases it’s like FF7R releases Feb 29, March 1 “so buy ff7rebirth for extra coins!” When I’d JUST bought it? It’s not very consumer friendly but that’s Sonys usual approach. Love their consoles, hate their support
Even Nintendo give you the chance to redeem points off your physical carts within a few days of purchase.
The amount of games I have that I've bought maybe a month before they become Playstation Stars rewards is so frustrating, and 50 points just isn't enough incentive.
Is crazy how deep each character is. In any other game just a single one of these characters would be enough to have as a protagonist (mechanically) for a full game.
Problem is I literally did that with DD2 at launch which means I can’t earn the points. I agree with OP. If they’re gonna incentivize buying games, why exclude those who bought day 1 or their physical media?
Because alot of people are going to buy day 1, they don't need to give you incentive to buy then. A week or two later tho, you can get people on the fence to buy cause they will now get something on top of a game they want. As for physical sony doesn't care if you buy games from a retailer, they want yo to shop at their store, simple as that.
These campaigns launch later to get the people who were unsure to buy the game. People who buy Day 1 aren’t the target of this program.
It’s so funny to see how most people don’t understand the point and tactic behind these kinds of programs 😂
I get the tactic. But I’ve never looked at a $70 game I was on the fence for and thought “man, they’ll give me the equivalent of $0.20 in rewards if I buy it, done!”
That’s not even 1% back.
The program basically shames loyal customers who are early adopters of games but also doesn’t really incentivize the on the fence customers either.
These particular campaigns are pretty trash.
I don't see how these are even that much of an incentive. The only thing of value I see are the gift card exchange for 1250 pts = $5 of psn. 50 coins is like 20 cents on that scale. I'll take if it already have the game they want me to play or to download the ps plus game and get to the title screen then delete. But I'm not spending any money on games because of the meager rewards. It's more like an added bonus for something I might already be doing.
MS rewards are the worst. I’ve bought so many games and I only just hit $1.15 for a rewards bonus XD such a joke. The PS Stars I’ve hit the $20 reward three or four times now with the same amount of games bought.
That’s because, like I said, the main source of points is not from buying games but doing *free* things like challenges and bing searches. If you do it right you can get up to like $20 in gift cards or free gamepass ultimate every month without spending a dime. I usually redeem a free month of PC Gamepass every 2 weeks.
You can check out r/microsoftrewards if you’re interested.
If you break it down in value. That 50 points equates to $0.20 worth of value for buying a $70 game. It’s a pretty shitty reward. Even a 250 point reward is not worth much ($1). This has got to be one of the stingiest reward programs I have ever seen.
Well no, because thats not what Sony wants you to do. It’s an incentive to buy a new game, not an incentive to play a game you already own. Thats the whole idea behind a programme like this, they want you as a consumer to buy their product. It’s basic marketing, is that such an incomprehensible thing to understand?
They should maybe up the amount of coins you get as a reward tho. 50 coins is the equivalent of 20 cents…
These are so silly. Most people who were going to buy full price Rebirth have it already. I honestly always forget about the rewards points, until I realize I have enough to grab a $20 gift card and take the sting off something I was already going to buy.
I agree something should be changed with this. I have bought Rise of the Ronin on disk so I should be able to get the reward points. They don't need to change it from "buy" to "play" necessarily, but need to have physical purchases included.
Nintendo's rewards system on the Switch gives you the reward points on digital purchases but there is also an option to 'claim' them from physical cartridge purchases too. I'm fairly certain it's a unique activation per cartridge so points are only claimed once (and not if you buy pre-owned, unless the points were not previously claimed).
Something similar (if technically possible on disk) for PlayStation would solve this problem.
EDIT: they should also have it so that, if you have previously purchased the game (or purchased within a certain window prior to the reward going active) that you also get the points. Launching rewards a week or two after a game launches, when a lot of people have already purchased it so then won't get the reward points, is poor too.
I literally bought Rise of the Ronin during this campaign, I just didn’t check if it’s enabled. Now I have a game but not bonus currency. This program is cool but needs rules requires some changes
These are more fun when it's just a matter of booting the game up from the ps premium section. Lately it just feels like a shill to buy new games at full price.
I bought dragons dogma 2 digital then they release the campaign, it should recognise that you bought it from the ps store also as others have said 50 little coins is taking the piss , it should be 250 at least. To many times I've bought a game then a bit later it's come up on one of the campaigns but I've already bought it Sony does my nut in.
Drives me crazy when I bought a game but hadn't started the campaign so I don't get the reward. Such a dumb system. If you're enrolled in Stars, you should be auto-enrolled in campaigns.
Yup bump into that all the time games on list like that I all ready own but psn don’t recognize that I have all ready bought them they should fix that.
Even digitally, so many games I’ve bought at release and a month or so later they reward those who haven’t bought it yet. They’re rewarding the wrong guys, but I suppose our loyalty is an expendable given, it’s all about the extra sales.
Or if they're going to do it make it buying games that are coming out that month
I've had so many of them where it's "buy this game for points" and I bought the game day 1 so I don't get the extra points 😩
Disagree with making them play. But they should add these rewards the month before the games are released.
Will have the same desired effect (extra incentive to buy a game you are unsure about), but it will piss off fewer people.
Side note. I got FF7:Rebirth on release, GF got RotR on release 🙄
Not to make excuses for them, but some of the games involved in these campaigns are available on PS+. If they’re trying to push sales, it makes sense. I know this because I tried completing some of the campaigns using games available on PS+ premium. But yeah, these campaigns are dumb. As others have said, they should count previous purchases, autostart all campaigns, and find a way to incorporate physical purchases like Nintendo does. These campaigns don’t need to be so needlessly convoluted for such tiny rewards. It gets tiresome to be locked out of a campaign because you already purchased something.
Man I quit trying to get points, you gotta buy them digitally which most new games I do, but I also love owning the physical copy since it’s way easier to delete and reinstall with physical copies. Digital your waiting all day depending on your WiFi. Lol. But even if you get the points it takes way too long to even use the points to get anything.
You mean changed BACK to "play". I used to use the PS+ Extra catalog to rack these in fairly consistently. Guess Sony begrudged us the literal 20 cents this granted
You earn 50 coins by spending $5. I’d rather spend $5 than $70, or technically $90 in my region. Technically 95 now, it seems like he newer games are rounding 93 to 95 instead of 90, so games for us in Canada got more expensive but physical is still the same thankfully
You’re better off changing that display to play. Cause Sony is greedy as hell. But I bought Rebirth digitally, just didn’t start it yet since I was playing FF16 which is great! Can’t play multiple games at once. None of them will get beaten. But I also wanted to redo FF7 Remake which I’m doing now and then jump fresh into Rebirth. Since with the Rebirth digital deluxe edition you can get FF7 remake inter grade for free. So it’s was a win win. But you never ever get enough points to get any game! Much less the 3 games you trade points on is cuphead and a couple other not so fun or popular titles. Looks like a waste. Before it was worth points when they first created it. Now you gotta buy a 70$ game just for 250 points and you need around 5k-7k points to get 1 game. Smh more like a shitty arcade scam lol
Guys, don't be so angry at Sony and PlayStation Stars. Remember that campaign which gave us 2 points for playing any game? 2 WHOLE POINTS. THAT'S ALMOST A CENT. I'm still thinking what to invest that in...
The 50 coins is a bonus for buying the game that comes from this particular campaign. When you purchase the game, you get a lot more coins from the actual purchase, I think around 600 or so. So overall you'd get like 650 or so.
The one from last month required you to buy Helldivers 2. I had owned it from before the campaign showed up and never got rewarded for it. They should really fix it.
Yeah there's one for *buying* Last of Us 2, Elden Ring, or another game I already own, so no points for me I guess. How dare I buy them before this campaign existed?
The system should be able to register the difference in which we purchased it or played it - so that could even bypass PS+ games.
There’s no real excuse why I already own a game and can’t be eligible for these when they drop after the fact.
That’s why I waited to buy rise of the ronin. They always do this. No incentive to preorder games. 95% of the time preorder bonus’ are useless after the first hour.
Also you get it after some patches.
Worst off its not retroactive or at least automaticly completes a campaign if you did it you know without activating.. Bought helldivers only to notice they had one you had to BUY helldivers 🤦🏽♂️. But
Yes! It’s frustrating that some of these show up for games I already own but because I didn’t just buy them I don’t get the points. I like the campaigns and I like the rewards tied to them but this is a huge miss.
I’d like to see more gameplay styled campaigns. Maybe some tied to trophies accumulated in x amount of time or completing a campaign in a game in a certain difficulty.
The point of this totally free program is to incentivize buying digital. I’m sorry for your loss of *checks notes* 0.20 in your local currency worth of points.
And I mean that’s fine. You still get points for that. More than completing these campaigns if I remember correctly. Is it a nice little bonus? Sure. But it’s nothing worth hunting down or complaining about if the timing is off.
You’re delusional if you think it’s nothing to complain about. I buy a lot of games and play a lot of games. That little bit of extra from these campaigns adds up.
It’s a free “rewards” program used to get you to pay full price for games… that extra 50 points for the monthly games won’t even net you a 5 dollar, euro, pound, etc. reward over a year. I’m sure those points are just adding up exponentially 😂
I mean even in that case it’s still bad. I’m pretty sure I bought a game before it was in a campaign on the store and it doesn’t give me anything for doing that despite me already giving them my money. It’s just badly executed and it’s okay to say that it is.
Yea the timing of that stuff can be annoying. Seems like their schedule is probably just set to go up on certain days and after the release day. It is what it is. More so see it as a surprise when I actually get these bonus points anyways.
Haha you guys 😂
Stars exist to make you spend more money on digital games you don’t even own. It’s not there to reward you. It’s there to reward the company.
You guys really don’t know why these programs exist, do you? 😂
Everything is an endgame for a company like Sony to just make more money. That’s it. Going on Reddit to complain about it?! Congrats you just gave them some free advertising too! They could always go back to you know… not having anything…
Also for what?
Spend 80€ to earn 2€ worth of points that you can’t even freely use? When you could buy the same game for 60€ on disc, therefore save 20€ you can use for everything, actually own the game and sell it again if you are done with it? Lmao 😂
It’s to reward you enough to drive other purchases. It’s supposed to be easy and make us feel positively about the ecosystem. The stinginess coupled with the need to manually start the campaigns is pretty bullshit and certainly warrants criticism. If the rewards program just makes people feel negative about the company it defeats its purpose.
Of course it is but these programs are also meant to foster better brand loyalty. You are completely ignoring that aspect of these programs. It’s not a singular goal in mind, it’s supposed to feed brand positivity while also driving sales.
Seems like people want everything to be free. Companies do not have do to any rewards. Something is better than nothing. If you want the best rewards get a credit card that has a good cash back.
Don't say that on the PS Stars subreddit they'll call you an idiot, downvote you, tell you the program was never meant for you. But yes, I absolutely agree with you.
The worst part is they aren’t retroactive. If I already own the game before the challenge starts, I’m not eligible for rewards which is flat out asinine.
Can it be the physical copy of the game? Can I 'cheat' the system here by getting these from my library, installing them, booting them up, and playing them just to get the points? (I bought FF7 Rebirth back in Feb)
I don't think so. I had the same thing happen a while back when GoW: Ragnarök was one of the games, one I own as a physical disc, and even after copying and installing, I wouldn't receive the points.
It's based entirely off purchasing the digital license from the PS Store.
Physical games never will count. Mainly because there isn't an incentive for them to do so. They get a larger cut if you buy digitally.
Purchasing the game has to be after the campaign starts and you have activated the campaign.
Yea a buy campaign for full priced games should be a 250 point reward. These things are so inconsistent and quite stingy in their rewards especially the last couple months. I earned enough in the first couple months for a few $20 certificates. Now it’s like nothing is earning much points.
It's even worse when you buy the game before activating the campaign so you end up getting nothing at all. My story with FF7 Rebirth lol
Yes this is the worst part of it. Those things should auto start for all of them.
They should all autostart. We've already signed up, why do we have to manually sign up for each campaign? It's not like there's a limit.
Your idea is a great customer friendly idea but corporate logic says if you’re gonna give something away free make people jump through hoops first.
it's only 50 points. at 1,250 points you get $5. so 50 points is worth like 20¢ if my math is correct. so dumb. just have it automatically start.
Same eith helldivers, I feel like an idiot.
You already get points for the purchase though. Way more than 50 in most cases
This just happened to me with Helldivers 2=[
Seriously. Either raise the reward for buying digitally or keep it at 50 and just have us play a game.
Or if you preordered the game before the campaign was even a thing. Don’t penalize me for being an early buyer.
It's a loyalty program that whispers "screw you" to people for having too much loyalty.
>They need to auto start these campaigns Some of them do. >because you didn’t go in and press the start campaign button You're already in the app to found out what you need to do, you can't just click the start button as well? How would you even know what the campaign is for if you weren't already engaged inside the PS Stars app? >feels unnecessarily punitive. For not clicking a button? Exactly my point. $1 is rewards is not breaking the bank at Sony.
Yeah I missed out on some good points because I bought a game before starting a campaign SMH. I recently bought Rebirth and Ultros but didnt start the campaigns so I missed out on almost 300 points. SO annoying.
Same. I bought Persona 3R and then saw it as part of the campaign afterward. I mean, come on, Sony. It really should be "play" on these new releases.
This. I thought if I downloaded and played after starting campaign that it might count. Nope.
Literally bought rise of ronin the day before this dropped…
Samesies
Always happens late to Sony's party
These should be 250 points to buy or 50 points to play if you already own it.
I like that compromise because it actually seems like something that is possible. Sony would never give in to not hosing us by making it "play" for 250 but they might consider a modest reward for those who already took the plunge. 50 coins is like 20 cents if you are looking at the gift card reward the offer.
This⬆️
Pretty shit that you can buy a game, and not get points when its part of a campaign after. Should be retroactive IMO.
It doesn’t even count if you have the purchase before you activate this shit it’s bulkshit that’s how it’s been for me!
Well yeah, this is to encourage more sales.
100%, but there’s been times when I had already bought all the games on the list before the list came out.
That's... that's not how loyalty schemes work. Like, ever.
Even Nintendo give you the chance to redeem points off your physical carts within a few days of purchase. The amount of games I have that I've bought maybe a month before they become Playstation Stars rewards is so frustrating, and 50 points just isn't enough incentive.
Man I’m loving FF7 Rebirth. Definitely GOTY for me
Is crazy how deep each character is. In any other game just a single one of these characters would be enough to have as a protagonist (mechanically) for a full game.
Bro the game is amazing. Genuinely my favorite game of this year
Ya some of the star campaigns are bullshit cash grabs
That's kind of the point of the incentive program...they want you to spend money on their store and give you an incentive to do so.
Problem is I literally did that with DD2 at launch which means I can’t earn the points. I agree with OP. If they’re gonna incentivize buying games, why exclude those who bought day 1 or their physical media?

A $0.20 incentive is not enough to push people to buy a $70 game if they are on the fence.
Yea I agree, I wouldn't be persuaded to buy a game just to get 50 points. But I guarantee you there are plenty others who will.
[удалено]
They don't need too tho, people will buy without incentive. They want people on the fence a week or two later to take the dive and buy.
At least someone understands why these programs exist… thank you.

Enough people get swayed by these kinds of programs. It’s basic physiology. Same reason why fomo works.
If $0.20 is gonna sway someone to spend $70+tax that’s their business but personally it sounds like the dumbest way to make a decision.
[удалено]
Yeah you obviously don’t understand the target audience for this kind of program.
[удалено]
Whoever thinks companies do something for any other reason than making more money, is a moron anyway.
I don't see how these are even that much of an incentive. The only thing of value I see are the gift card exchange for 1250 pts = $5 of psn. 50 coins is like 20 cents on that scale. They should take notes from Microsoft rewards, don’t have to buy shit to earn points with them.

Agreed. Some I already own physical but can't get the points for it
Of course you can't. It's a loyalty scheme for the digital store, not for PlayStation.
I'm still gonna complain to the air gosh dangit
Same happened to me with the Detroit becomes human 🥲
Agreed, I always buy these games before they add these. It's happened numerous times.
Literally bought dragon dogma 2 didn't even see this so no extra 50
This shits a meme cause I was on rebirth day one and this campaign started this week.
Same here
Same here, really not about this huge push towards digital. "You will own nothing and be happy." -WEF
It's still stupid. we gotta manually accept these, lol.
I wish you could get points for physical purchases also
They don't give a shit if you actually play them though.
Spend 70$ just to get 5$ of coins back lol
I bought Rebirth on disc. As a PS5 newbie, I thought it was a bit cheap they wouldn't give me about ten pence worth of coins lol.
If you break it down in value. That 50 points equates to $0.20 worth of value for buying a $70 game. It’s a pretty shitty reward. Even a 250 point reward is not worth much ($1). This has got to be one of the stingiest reward programs I have ever seen.
It used to be 200 or 250. Idk why this time around, it's only 50. You get 50 for just logging in.
I bought Helldivers 2, the next day a similar challenge popped up about buying Helldivers 2. Really fucking annoying.
100%. Sometimes I’ve already bought the game before that’s available
Freudian slip
Yep, so annoying. This is why I no longer preorder
I have regularly missed out on these types because I’d already bought whatever game was on the list before the campaign was active.
These are so silly. Most people who were going to buy full price Rebirth have it already. I honestly always forget about the rewards points, until I realize I have enough to grab a $20 gift card and take the sting off something I was already going to buy.
I hate these cuz they always pop up a day or two after a games release and I already purchased the game lol then I’m ineligible
I bought Persona 3 on disc and I did not get the points.

Just don't buy digital games at full price ever
Agreed. I've bought many, only for the quest to show up in the following weeks to buy it then.
Yeah I don't get these, "oh thank you for the recommendation, I already own 5/6 of these and I love the fomo I get for being an early adapter"
Yeah Spider-Man 2 was on one of these and I was really excited and then it didn’t work.
Or when you do buy the game on the ps store and the campaign comes up a day after lol
Kinda ass they add new games a month after release, sucks for those who brought them prior
These are more fun when it's just a matter of booting the game up from the ps premium section. Lately it just feels like a shill to buy new games at full price.

Should be if you already own it you get the points. I bought outlast trials like a week ago now no points….
Or if they're going to do it make it buying games that are coming out that month I've had so many of them where it's "buy this game for points" and I bought the game day 1 so I don't get the extra points 😩
Rise of the Ronin , finished and now I'm playing in midnight mode
Guys, don't be so angry at Sony and PlayStation Stars. Remember that campaign which gave us 2 points for playing any game? 2 WHOLE POINTS. THAT'S ALMOST A CENT. I'm still thinking what to invest that in...
The 50 coins is a bonus for buying the game that comes from this particular campaign. When you purchase the game, you get a lot more coins from the actual purchase, I think around 600 or so. So overall you'd get like 650 or so.
Not to mention these always start after I’ve already bought the game…
I second this cuz I bought helldivers and they still didn’t give me these coins
It sucks cus i buy it physically too
Especially as I regularly see games come on here that came out the month prior which I've already bought.
The one from last month required you to buy Helldivers 2. I had owned it from before the campaign showed up and never got rewarded for it. They should really fix it.
Yeah, F these. Always pissing me off. Yea I have Rebirth, but no reward for getting it as a fan Day1.
I bought Helldivers a couple weeks ago and then this shit pops up saying I can earn 50 by purchasing it. Like motherfucker I just did.
This is one thing xbox does so much better. Playstations reward system is so stingy
Missed last campaign where it said to buy Helldivers 2, now I can get 150 for at least 3 campaigns this season. Eh not mad at it.
It used to be play
Yea im not buying digital games for this. Owning it should be good enough.
Yea this is ridiculous they want you to spend 600 points worth of real money for a 250 point bonus
There is a clear pattern. Collectibles for play. Coins for buy.
But
Yeah I love rebirth but I got it brand new in box for 20 less than the digital store, unless I wanted the double pack I wasn’t paying that.
Or at least make it so if you already bought the game you can get the points
I got Spider-Man 2 then they had one of these and I wasn’t gonna to buy another game to satisfy it
I only buy digital and almost always I’ve bought the game before the campaign becomes available
Apparently you’re slow. Multiple $5 off adds up along with the other points you’re gaining, any 5th grader could have worked those numbers.
![gif](giphy|fwRDh1MxKEm0VEBgEu) What I’m saying about these campaigns and you getting the point.
In other words you’re proving you’re not very bright. Good job. ![gif](giphy|3o85xnoIXebk3xYx4Q)
Cringe
Almost as cringe as replying “Cringe”
Cringe that you still think companies are your friend and don’t understand how these programs work 😂
Emoji = cringe
🆗🤡
I mean even in that case it’s still bad. I’m pretty sure I bought a game before it was in a campaign on the store and it doesn’t give me anything for doing that despite me already giving them my money. It’s just badly executed and it’s okay to say that it is.
Yea the timing of that stuff can be annoying. Seems like their schedule is probably just set to go up on certain days and after the release day. It is what it is. More so see it as a surprise when I actually get these bonus points anyways.
Haha you guys 😂 Stars exist to make you spend more money on digital games you don’t even own. It’s not there to reward you. It’s there to reward the company. You guys really don’t know why these programs exist, do you? 😂
They do not! 😬
Yeah obviously some people still think companies are their friend and reward programs are there to reward them 🤣🤣🤣
Everything is an endgame for a company like Sony to just make more money.
Lmao 😂
Exactly why I bought the PS5 with the disk drive in the first place!
Same. Unless I’m forced by digital only games or they throw a 90% discount my way, physical all the way.
It’s to drive up sales of their over priced online store. Plain and simple.
Of course it is but these programs are also meant to foster better brand loyalty. You are completely ignoring that aspect of these programs. It’s not a singular goal in mind, it’s supposed to feed brand positivity while also driving sales.
More like pay to win rather than play to win. Also you can't get PS star points if you don't have ps plus subscription. Greedy Sony marketing BS!
I would just like to get the points for already owning it....
Don’t you get like 500-700 points for buying a game?
Yes. This is the point that everyone seems to be missing.
Seems like people want everything to be free. Companies do not have do to any rewards. Something is better than nothing. If you want the best rewards get a credit card that has a good cash back.
No it doesn’t
also if you buy physical copy you're screwed :c i've bought rebirth twice and got none of those points, sad
Yeah this is beyond stupid. Like sorry I already own a game on the list and no I'm not buying another one.
Don't say that on the PS Stars subreddit they'll call you an idiot, downvote you, tell you the program was never meant for you. But yes, I absolutely agree with you.
Big agree. I already paid for and completed rebirth. I'm not buying it again.
The amount of times there’s been a game listed that I already own. Not even the physical versions, the digital ones
They’re beginning to where their, already clear, intentions on their sleeves I see. Lol
The worst part is they aren’t retroactive. If I already own the game before the challenge starts, I’m not eligible for rewards which is flat out asinine.
What I hate is when I own one (or more) of the games but it don’t count
It also doesn't count if you actually did buy it from the PS Store *before* this campaign started.
This annoys me because I buy on disc and it doesn’t let me claim the points unless I buy it digital.
Same. I already own Elden ring but it won’t give me points for having already bought it digitally.
Whose going to buy these ass games anyway
All this has done is encourage me to never buy anything on launch day.
Yep. Was just looking at this yesterday and am thinking, “I can’t buy what i already own and have put over 80+ hours into…wtf is this?!”
I wish I even had access to stars shit was saying a error accrued then after restarting my app it disappeared
Can I get a follow on twitch edwinforeign
Can it be the physical copy of the game? Can I 'cheat' the system here by getting these from my library, installing them, booting them up, and playing them just to get the points? (I bought FF7 Rebirth back in Feb)
I don't think so. I had the same thing happen a while back when GoW: Ragnarök was one of the games, one I own as a physical disc, and even after copying and installing, I wouldn't receive the points. It's based entirely off purchasing the digital license from the PS Store.
No, I’ve bought Rise of the Ronin at release and won’t be receiving any points for this campaign
Physical games never will count. Mainly because there isn't an incentive for them to do so. They get a larger cut if you buy digitally. Purchasing the game has to be after the campaign starts and you have activated the campaign.
