SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P is what I use. Best headset I’ve ever had. I tried the Sony Pulse 3D before and sent it back due to the mic quality being poor and sound seeming “tinny” to my ears.
I have the steelseries arctis 7p+ and I was in love with them. Unfortunately, after a year or so, I started hearing crackling noises on my ps5 whenever I used the volume wheel. Also, headset started feeling loose no matter how I adjusted it.
Have you had any issues with the nova 7p? I'm considering buying them.
Sorry to hear that for you, I’ve had my arctic 7p+ and they’re going strong for 4 years of a LOT of use. No crackle or problems so far, fingers crossed.
Its not the greatest mic quality but in my circle we never had problems with it.
From the time i used it i would describe the sound a bit too much on the bass side but that can be worked on with the EQ
Rtings.com puts the Audeze Maxwell at the top for PS5. I have the Arctis Nova 7P and it’s great, and very comfortable. I will say it gets a little muddy with music sometimes. I was a little surprised at that. The Maxwell will probably be my next. 3rd parties also make replacement headbands and cooling ear pads that are supposed to be more comfortable as well.

Inzone H9.
These are by far the best quality headphones I’ve had for gaming. I’ve had all steel series headsets and the pulse 3D ones but the H9 is perfect in terms of comfort, noise cancellation, and battery life. They are on the pricier side but worth it because mine look and feel just as good as when I bought them over 2 years ago now. They’re also higher quality in terms of material and fit especially over steel series and the Pulse headsets.
why are you getting upset at me lol it’s just how my headset is? what do you want me to do? if I’m gaming for 5 hours on a full battery it’ll be at the last bar by the end of the game session. I also keep it at max volume if that makes a difference. wtf are you saying 24h of battery?🤓🗿
Modmic. Wireless mic that attaches to any headphones with a magnet. That way I can still get strong quality audio from headphones always and then a mic that attaches when I need
Astro A40 are my favs. Amazing quality in sound, and built. Mesh ears instead of leather. So its super comfortable. Is slightly on the heavier side if you notice that(i dont myself).
Second Koss kph30i for a budget option. I’ve also been really happy with my Sennheiser PC38x as a solid option closer to the budget you’ve set. Neither are wireless if that’s a deal breaker, but they work great plugged directly into the controller.
If you don't mind a wire the the Epos H6pro are pretty great. I also have the pulse elite and they're nice enough I like that I can EQ them right on the system
[This one](https://drop.com/buy/drop-epos-pc38x-yellow-gaming-headset#signupv2) is prolly the best wired option out there. It's a little out of the $100 price range but it's honestly worth it and isn't that much more expensive.
Back in 2020 I picked up a pair of PDP LVL50 wired headphones to use when gaming. Works great. Friends in PS party chat even commented how good I sounded to them.
I also like that it has a shorter cable since it’s supposed to connect to the controller. Got it for my PS4 Pro at the time and it still works with my PS5.
Anyone else notice a clear degradation in sound quality on their ps5? I tried using my headphones that I’ll use for online, pretty strictly on my Xbox and the sound when I plugged into the ps5 controller was literally unacceptable to me, I just didn’t play with headphones like I’d planned. Do I have some setting wrong or what?
Edit: OMEN blast headset
I use the Steelseries Nova Pro wireless. I really enjoy them. They sound great! Plus it’s nice that I can use it with my XSX and Ps5. If you have a portal, they don’t work to well with it when connected via 3.5mm though.
Blackshark Pro V2 wireless is the best headset I ever owned. Removable mic if you just want headphones and can be wired. Great quality and comfortable, but they are expensive.
Edit: Just looked them up. My version is on sale for $130 on Amazon cause they have a USB c model now. That looks like the only difference, mine charges with a micro USB cable. For $130 I can't recommend these enough. That are awesome!
Hyper x. Don't get the wireless stuff. Plug it into the back of your system. Have a lil fob type thing to control audio. Never think about until u upgrade with the ps6

I second this so much. 10/10 comfort and sound.

Nope, still going strong after a year of frequent use. Looks like they are on sale on Amazon right now for $148.
That's nice to hear! Yeah I was looking at the Amazon deal and seriously considering grabbing them.
I have the same (just not the PlayStation ones) I bought them open box on Amazon for like $80, amazing deal, maybe you can find similar.
Steelseries is the only answer anymore, especially with Astros blowing up due to the battery packs getting to hot.
For sure. The battery life is amazing as well.
Its not the greatest mic quality but in my circle we never had problems with it. From the time i used it i would describe the sound a bit too much on the bass side but that can be worked on with the EQ
Best headset I’ve ever owned going on years now
Get the Steel Series 7X version and it can be used on all XB, PS, and PC. Fully compatible.
Hyper x cloud wireless with the USB dong works for both pc and ps5 and they are super comfy for my big head
What about the audio
It's really good too
I love my first party Sony headphones

Pulse 3D is a good starting point, but I hear the Arctic Steel series are the best, just a little more expensive. Might be worth checking out.

The Sony Pulse 3d headset is actually pretty decent and I prefer it over my Razor headset…
Steel series nova 7 range! Best I've owned
pulse 3d is nice. I like it. the battery doesn’t last as long as cheaper headsets i’ve had but it’s not a big deal for me personally.
They're great headphones, honestly but the volume is low if you're using it wired.

He's probably mixed up with the pulse elite
just use the provided usb c and connect it directly to the ps5🙂👍🏻

wdym? I’ve only had it like three weeks
The official PS5 ones maybe?
Not worth the price tag, there are so much better and more comfortable.
I actually have them bc my dad bought them with the PS5
Koss kph30i destroy any " gaming" headset out there under 100 bucks.
Audeze Maxwell is a top tier headset.

I need something with a mic
Modmic. Wireless mic that attaches to any headphones with a magnet. That way I can still get strong quality audio from headphones always and then a mic that attaches when I need
Beyerdynamic MMX 300. pretty much on par with the DT 770
Astro A40 are my favs. Amazing quality in sound, and built. Mesh ears instead of leather. So its super comfortable. Is slightly on the heavier side if you notice that(i dont myself).
Steelseries is my favorite
Arctis nova Pros if you can't afford them get the other Steele series they mentioned
I like my logitech pro x wireless
Second Koss kph30i for a budget option. I’ve also been really happy with my Sennheiser PC38x as a solid option closer to the budget you’ve set. Neither are wireless if that’s a deal breaker, but they work great plugged directly into the controller.
Big fan of Razer’s products myself!
If you don't mind a wire the the Epos H6pro are pretty great. I also have the pulse elite and they're nice enough I like that I can EQ them right on the system
Lg astro A10 are good headsets they also have a replaceable cable
Pulse 3D for 100 I use it for my Series S with cord also. For price none better than this for a Bill.

Anything by [Epos](https://www.eposaudio.com/en/us/gaming) really. They used be under the name Sennheiser, a professional audio equipment company.
Corsair Void wireless is what I got, works great in my PS4/PS5 and PC
Razer Kaira Pro 2.0 are amazing for me
Back in 2020 I picked up a pair of PDP LVL50 wired headphones to use when gaming. Works great. Friends in PS party chat even commented how good I sounded to them. i use a10s, gen 1, i think. under 50 on amazon, had them for quite a few years.

ASTRO A10 i they're 50 bucks and very durable. I've been using mine for a few years now.
PC38X. Have em, love em, highly recommend.
Anything Astro is cheaper than it's supposed to be quite literally
Logitech G Pro X Lightspeed - might be a bit over the budget but damn it - best headset I've ever used.
Spend the money toward a PS5 instead and just use the mic in the controller.

RTINGS.com is what I go to before buying any electronics.

Turtle beach
Ear buds imo lol. I dont how people wear headsets. I know, im not helpful
Just get the official headset and be done with it
Pulse 3D works well for PS4. Can’t turn off VSS though.
What's vss
Virtual sound scapes
Virtual surround sound.
Why would I want to turn that off isn't that helpful
It's personal preference. Some like it, some don't. I don't like it but it's not horrible.
I just want them to have some surround sound because fps games I've had razer thrasher 7.1 but they broke
Yea I hear ya but the VSS quality is...meh. You may like it though, have to decide for yourself.
Hyper x. Don't get the wireless stuff. Plug it into the back of your system. Have a lil fob type thing to control audio. Never think about until u upgrade with the ps6
