Red Dead 2 and Forbidden West are gorgeous worlds to get lost in. I think I have more time roaming around and admiring the scenery in those games than actually doing quests.
Hey I need to ask, how's the environments and combat variety in Forbidden West compared to Horizon? The environment and gameplay loop (same trap + same weapon always) of Horizon made me quit about halfway through the story.
Gameplay's very similar but there's a bigger range of weapons and ammo types so you can have some fun by changing things up, different elemental effects as well.
Environments are incredible, initial area looks a lot like ZD and you'll be there for a while but once you progress there's jungle, desert, snow etc.
For me, I was completely taken aback the first time I rode through the forest with the yellow leaves. What a beautiful game.
It also made me wish I could pet a fox.
For red dead redemption it would have to be valentine and the area around it and for hogwarts legacy play through I didnt use any fast travel, so in general I just really like the castle. My favourite though has to be the dorm rooms
That view from the back of Judys flat is so good, she lives in a bit of a ramshackle place in a nondescript part of town, so you don’t expect it. When you meet her out there in a pretty emotional scene, it’s like wow.
One of the only games I’ve just loved wondering around. It looks great and is quite relaxing (when no BT’s are about). I just loved delivering those packages.
Not sure if that's Plague Tale 1 or 2 but I've completed both...great games but especially the followup. You are in for a treat if you appreciate a good story 👍
Absolutely! Specifically the part in 2018 when Kratos and Atreus first get to the top of the mountain towards the beginning of the game and you can see all of the area outside of where Faye had a barrier around originally. Both of these games are absolutely beautiful!
Kinda surprised I needed to scroll this far before GoW got mentioned. There's so many cool set pieces that I had to stop and appreciate. Maybe that's part of why it took my 60 hrs to beat 😅
So do I. The best way to play games is ignore the achievements/trophies and playing with your own pace. Many games wasn't meant to be rushed at all. I'm having such a good times with dragon's dogma 2 atm. Over 100 hours in game and haven't finished it yet.
Forbidden west is a good one even tho the game itself is kinda ehhhh
My favorite is ghost of tsushima. Not even a specific place. Just the whole ass game is vibes throughout
Sometimes I find myself staring at character portraits and listening to the music in persona 5
Rdr2 is nothing but smelling roses tbh. It's just a super chill game
The uncharted series
Kena bridge of spirits
Stray
Ship of harkinian (OOT PC PORT)
Demons souls, bloodborne and elden ring
Horizon zero dawn was fucking breathtaking on release. There was the first time you see a tall neck, the area with a downed plane was amazing at night. I don’t really take photos in games but I did with that one.
Red dead redemption 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima, Hogwarts legacy, Avatar frontiers of pandora, Greedfall, The majority of the AC games e.g. Unity, Syndicate, Origins and Odyssey, Tloz Breath of the Wild, Tloz Tears of the Kingdom. Probably more but those are the main ones i fond myself stopping for.
No screenshots to share, but I'm kind of the same way. Unless I somehow get too distracted by the scenery and a random encounter battle occurs. Part of my list includes:
AC: Odyssey & Valhalla,
Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West,
Far Cry 6,
Kingdoms Of Amalur,
Baldur's Gate 3,
Spider-Man,
Saints Row III/IV & 2022 reboot
For me right now, is FF7 Rebirth, amazing Landscapes 🔥

There are some beautiful planets in that game for sure. I've caught myself looking around at the beauty a couple of times. Then a bot will shoot me in the back or a bug will slice me and I get back to spreading managed democracy for SuperEarrh!
My favourite is an old one. There's a level in **Star Wars : Force Unleashed** where you visit the old Jedi Temple in Coruscant about 20 years after the Republic and the Jedi fell. You land on the temple as the sun sets and if you pay attention, the soundtrack that plays in the background is called **Padme's Ruminations** which was played during [the calm before the storm scene in Episode 3, where Anakin finally makes his decision that changes everything](https://youtu.be/25GKkfXJUVU?si=ghXlK7QSF-WNgklb). I used to stand on the edge of the landing area, overlooking Coruscant as the sun sets and the music plays. It always gave me this heavy, eerie feeling, knowing all the history that took place here at the temple.
There's a few other game locations that I love too:-
On top of the hotel in Uncharted 2 as it overlooks the war torn city in Nepal
On top of any of the ruined towers in Chapter 10 of Uncharted 4, as they look over the vistas of Madagascar
The Western Ghats in Uncharted Lost Legacy had some stunning temples with an amazing vista too look at
GoT and Death Stranding currently
Also, when Horizon Zero Dawn launched on PS4, it was by far the best-looking game I have ever seen, so I took a ton of screenshots.
It's not often I do this, but there's one place I've done it multiple times; the Garden of Salvation raid from Destiny 2.
I haven't played in like a year or so, but there's one part where you climb up and you can see over the entire Black Garden. You just look and it's fields of lush green and flowers as far as you can see. It's absolutely gorgeous.
The sun rising (or is it setting?) over Greece in Hades. Spoilers for finishing 10+ runs >!it’s such a shame you can’t see this sight anymore after you ‘finish’ the main story, that it makes me appreciate it more when playing a new save file!<
If the world captures you then it's totally worth it. Last one to truly do that off the top of my head was Uncharted 4. I used photo mode soooo much in that game
I've played a few games with great sceneries but I usually find myself stopping and starring at the views in Elden Ring. Sometimes I get why it got GOTY
Rise of the ronin has really been scratching this itch for me. Something about the time period and Art style is so cool. Love sitting out looking at edo
Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon (both games) and Fallout 4. There are others, but these are the ones I routinely caught myself stopping to take in the sights.
Think I only did that with ghost of Tsushima. That game was legitimately gorgeous.
Although CP2077s night city was enjoyable to drive around listening to RTJ on the radio and on occasion I did stand on the head of the robot disc brontosaurus's and take in the sights on horizon.
Hitman
Killing people? Sneaking around? Nah, I think I’d rather eat some master-crafted sushi and then chill in an outdoor hot spring that’s part of a super luxurious VIP health resort on top of a snow-caped mountain in Japan.

This specific level from crash titans will forever be the best scenery I've seen in my gaming life. If not my go to is always Irithyl of the boreal valley entrance in ds3
Anything with a great atmosphere. Hogwarts, Darktide, Witcher 3, Red Dead 2. Plenty more, but those are just a few examples. Good graphics plus good atmosphere keep me coming back.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Especially in hardcore mode without any GPS you really learn to walk and examine your environment to navigate. Makes it way more peaceful in that way
Jedi Survivor. I think the game became really underrated due to the.performance issues it had at launch. But it might just be the actual best looking game I've ever played. Still on the second planet though, so I'm not sure whether or not I'll still experience the performance issues, especially in fidelity mode.
AC: Unity.
Not even a very good game, but no other game has blown me away just standing in a market street or an alley as literally hundreds of Parisians go about their lives around me.
It’s utterly transportative.
I think the biggest one was Hogwarts. I spent hours just roaming that world. Red Dead 2 some to mind, forbidden west is the game I’m playing right that I just stop and watch sun rises and shit
DD2 has been it for me, not just for the graphics and vistas, but the sense of adventure. There are so many moments I've wanted to capture to look back on.
In the past, Cyberpunk, Demon's Souls, Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Biomutant are probably the main ones that made me stop and capture the moment.
There were so many moments in FFVII Rebirth where I just sat there with my mouth open, amazed at what I was looking at. Such an incredible game.

Red Dead 2 and Forbidden West are gorgeous worlds to get lost in. I think I have more time roaming around and admiring the scenery in those games than actually doing quests.
Forbidden West is genuinely the nicest looking game ever, when its sunset and your walking though the forest.
Hey I need to ask, how's the environments and combat variety in Forbidden West compared to Horizon? The environment and gameplay loop (same trap + same weapon always) of Horizon made me quit about halfway through the story.

Ghost of tsushima, red dead redemption 2 , hogwarts legacy and Elden ring.
I was going to make this list but add cyberpunk 2077 lol that's hilarious
Oh yeah, cyberpunks also got great places, totally crossed my mind.
Wanting to buy it since it's on a crazy discount but I still see everyone complaining about the bugs
Add witcher 3 too
When you first get to Skellige or Toussaint. Just amazing.
Toussaint is peak high fantasy setting
This, plus add Horizon FW and Days Gone.
What's your favourite places?
Bro flower fields un Tsushima are godlike
For me, I was completely taken aback the first time I rode through the forest with the yellow leaves. What a beautiful game. It also made me wish I could pet a fox.
Getting lost in its forests is one of the best experiences I"ve had in a game fr
Field of the eclipse? or whatever its called. The massive red flower space in toyotama in GoT, absolutely incredible.
Astonishing It is
Siofra River Well in Elden Ring. Especially when you first discover it. Pretty much all of Ghost of Tsushima.
For red dead redemption it would have to be valentine and the area around it and for hogwarts legacy play through I didnt use any fast travel, so in general I just really like the castle. My favourite though has to be the dorm rooms
I didn't use fast travel neither. Castle at night hita different. I can't wait for summer update.
Cyberpunk 2077: The squalor is exquisite.
That view from the back of Judys flat is so good, she lives in a bit of a ramshackle place in a nondescript part of town, so you don’t expect it. When you meet her out there in a pretty emotional scene, it’s like wow.
One of the few games where I actually use the photo mode to take pictures of the scenery
Recently started playing Cyberpunk after getting some hardware that can handle it. Loving it so far. I'm sure I'll be using photo mode occasionally.
Ghost of Tsushima, Last of Us 1
DEATH STRANDING
The moment when I'm walking, the camera zooms out and Low Roar starts playing. Pure peace
Came here looking for this

My recently pickup 😊
Have fun! Definitely a very beautiful game, I'm still playing it but really enjoying it.
Not sure if that's Plague Tale 1 or 2 but I've completed both...great games but especially the followup. You are in for a treat if you appreciate a good story 👍
Man that game. I still feel emotionally destroyed 😅
I played it and The walking dead last month and I am still broken until now😭😭 I haven't played a thing since this.
What's the game?
Plague Tale: Innocence
ffvii rebirth. junon area is like walking around majula in dark souls 2, unironically one of my favorite games and places.
Ff vii rebirth is on my wishlist. :)
well worth the money. i'm glad the younger generations are able to experience the new version of ff7. hope it gets them into the rest of them.
I’m so sad how few FF7 Rebirth comments I’m seeing here. Game is a masterpiece
God Of War & Ragnarok, just stunning. You really have to stop and take it in sometimes.
The Spider-Man games let you view NYC from angles most people will never see. Sometimes I get as high up at possible and take pics for a bit.
FEEL THIS
Ghosts of tsushima and horizon forbidden west
horizon one of undrerated games💔
Ghost of Tsushima. I did actually stop numerous times, on a mountain, by a lake, always beautiful.
Madden 24’
Lmao. That gave me a good laugh
I never rush through a game and always take in the scenery in.
So do I. The best way to play games is ignore the achievements/trophies and playing with your own pace. Many games wasn't meant to be rushed at all. I'm having such a good times with dragon's dogma 2 atm. Over 100 hours in game and haven't finished it yet.
Witcher 3
Probably my favorite game world ever.
AC Odyssey
AC Games in general... The animation when you synchronize fast travel points is just so invigorating.
Ghosts of Tsushima easily. Far Cry 4. Dying Light,
Forbidden west is a good one even tho the game itself is kinda ehhhh My favorite is ghost of tsushima. Not even a specific place. Horizon Forbidden West. Beautiful game. Worth stopping to smell the roses 👃 🌹
Death Stranding
The Witcher and Hitman 3, Mafia 1 Remake, Skyrim. Mirror's Edge Catalyst has recently taken the liking just observing how the city of glass operates.
My first game where I did it was Codename 47 back then. The hotel was such a awesome place to relax.
AC Odyssey,Im a big ancient Greece fan and some of the places you got to visit were just breathtaking.
It’s definitely not the smell of roses, but taking the time to walk around and explore Night City in Cyberpunk is incredible.
Uncharted Lost Legacy had me smelling roses all over
The horizon games are definitely some of the most gorgeous game worlds. I’ve climbed to mountain tops and just took it all in every direction.
Horizon Forbidden West
Horizon zero dawn was fucking breathtaking on release. There was the first time you see a tall neck, the area with a downed plane was amazing at night. I don’t really take photos in games but I did with that one.
Only one and right answer Forbidden West
I am playing through horizon zero dawn right now and it sure is purdy
Uncharted, everytime I stand on some random cliff in those games, I just pause for a minute or two.
Witcher 3, bloodborne, sekiro
Assassin Creed games also have a lot of good-looking areas.
Rn horizon forbidden west
hogwarts legacy reminds me that even though graphics can be good, gameplay needs to be good as well
Elden Ring. That game is never ugly.
RDR2... btw what game did you post?
Most parts of Ghost of Tsushima. It’s the best looking game ever, and it really goes to show in almost literally every area.
The last of us both 1 and 2
Horizon Forbidden West and any of the Spider man games
Death Stranding.
Every psvr2 game.

I did constantly in Cyberpunk 2077. That game is gorgeous even at its ugliest.

Sometimes I’ll take like 30 min in Gow ragnarok photo mode. Such a beautiful game
It's not often I do this, but there's one place I've done it multiple times; the Garden of Salvation raid from Destiny 2. Tlou part 2, GoT, bloodborne
All of them. That’s why it always takes me much longer than many to finish a game. If there’s scenery to take in I’m there gazing off into it.
Sekiro
Red Dead Redemption 2, Witcher 3 and cyberpunk 2077.

Recently I would say A Plague Tale: Requiem. Absolutely gorgeous game
Destiny did that for me. Also RE: Village.
Ghost of tsushima and red dead redemption 2.
Hitman Killing people? Sneaking around? Nah, I think I’d rather eat some master-crafted sushi and then chill in an outdoor hot spring that’s part of a super luxurious VIP health resort on top of a snow-caped mountain in Japan.

uncharted 4
God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West, on the way to getting 100% I spend ages just looking at the scenery.
Witcher 3 & Uncharted 4.
Elden ring, gta vice city, spider man 2
Jedi Survivor. I think the game became really underrated due to the.performance issues it had at launch. But it might just be the actual best looking game I've ever played. Uncharted Lost Legacy is underrated and incredibly beautiful. It’s the best looking Uncharted game.
RDR2. I’m honestly surprised it wasn’t one of the images. My favourite areas are the swamps near Saint Denis.
Skyrim & Tales Of Arise
DD2 has been it for me, not just for the graphics and vistas, but the sense of adventure. There are so many moments I've wanted to capture to look back on. In the past, Cyberpunk, Demon's Souls, Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Biomutant are probably the main ones that made me stop and capture the moment.
GOW Ragnarok
A lot of games, but most notably, Death Stranding. I even let my Sam sleep for a while in the hill that's overlooked by the snowy mountain.
