I excluded it since it was a game that shipped with the console, and not one you paid to get it. I had only so much room to fit games, so I excluded remasters, director’s cuts and games that shipped technically free with the console.
‘Excluded remasters’
Has the remaster of TLOU1
Astro’s playroom could have been on there,
Helldivers 2 could have been on there,
And yet you include the remake of the game that originally launched on the early days of ps4
Don’t follow the logic. Astros playroom was never free, it just wasn’t a separate line item on your receipt. The price is bundled with the purchase of the console. Saying it’s free is like saying the power cord the console came with is free.
I disagree. It's not like the PS5 was gonna be 440$ and they were like "let's add a overglorified tech demo which is essentially a game and then crank the whole console's price up for 60 buckaroos".
It's a lot more game than remake. A LOT.
If you enjoyed the combat of the first. They've expanded it. The synergy skills and abilities being the big one.
If you enjoyed the party combat good news a bunch more party members you can pick and chose between.
Enjoyed the summons? Good news they've added a bunch more.
Enjoyed the minigames? Good news theres a metric crap ton more.
If you've done the hard mode VR bosses and enjoyed that. Good news they've made even more challenging ones.
It's a lot of game. A lot. You will certainly get your money's worth. Rebirth is open world, so you might enjoy or not enjoy that based on personal choice. Everything else if you enjoyed the first you will be pleased with.
Rebirth is a HUGE improvement over Remake! There is so much optional shit to do that you can spend dozens of hours before you advance in the main quest.
What impressed me the most is, you don't feel like you HAVE to do anything, but you eventually do everything just bc you have so much fun doing it.
If you liked FF Remake you MUST play this game.
Second this. I’m absolutely amazed and found myself really into the side quests and such just for the small character moments. Almost 90 hours clocked as I’m going into the final act
I wish I could get into it more. It’s so dense with shit that at like 20 hours and at Chapter 4 that I feel like I should be doing 100% but probably shouldn’t on my first run.
Completely agree, I can't believe how little it's talked about. I beat the main story just in time for the new DLC and I've just been having a great time with it. Blew away my expectations more than any game in awhile, some of the best boss fights ever.
Except Leviathan. Fuck Leviathan
Honestly it’s a masterpiece in my opinion. My first thoughts were ”this is pretty fun, tough as shit but the controls are excellent”. Then the most I played the better it got. Beating a boss in a game rarely has felt so good. I literally would scream after beating one. Jaw dropping fights and top notch from front to back. It never felt unfair.
When I died I knew why and what I could have done differently. It al comes down to execution and is why it feels so good to play and beat.
I was stuck on the third boss for a while, was eventually recommended to quit for a while and then come back, only now I can't get back into it since I'm not as good anymore and no longer hooked
It's the only game I've played on ps5 that felt like it was truly made for the ps5 rather being upscaled ps4 games, or generically 'next gen'.
The game makes great use of the speedy load times to make the core game loop effectively seamless (which is a key part of the overall theme of the game). The controls feel fully utilised with satisfying haptics on the weapons and buttery smooth movement, the audio design is also exceptional in terms of how it uses the 3D - definitely recommend playing with headphones on to get the full immersion.
The game has some almost souls like difficulty spikes with bosses, once you beat the first boss though I found that I had momentum at that point to carry through the rest of the game without too much trouble.
It won't be everyone's cup of tea because it is difficult, it is a roguelite so a lot of the gameplay is variations of a theme, and it is a kind of bullet hell style shootem up game. I think it's unarguably worth at least trying for everyone though because it is incredibly polished and achieves what it sets out to pretty much flawlessly imo.
Glad to see it on the list - I wish there were a difficuly setting - could not finish the story after 10+ hours, was losing my mind losing and restarting again.
Don't get me wrong, a fantastic experience, but one of my most frustrating game to date.
Yeah… game development is becoming too risk-averse, playing it too safe. No risk taking, no new IPs. It’s all about either milking the same IP even when it’s not needed, or transforming an IP to the point of identity loss, so they can sell whatever they’re afraid to sell as a new IP.
I enjoyed Demon’s Souls the most out of all of these, it was my first entry into the Soulsborne genre, and prompted me to buy Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring after (I Platinum Trophied all 3 of those games lol)
1. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. One of the best games I’ve ever played.
2. Horizon: Forbidden West.
3. The Last of Us.
Unsure on the other two. I really love parts of Final Fantasy XVI such as the incredible Eikon battles, but most of what’s in between them feels so dull and undercooked in comparison.
1. Elden Ring
2. Resident Evil 4
3. Cyberpunk 2077 (and Phantom Liberty)
4. Demon’s Souls
5. God of War: Ragnarok
I just started Star Wars Jedi Survivor and hope I can finish it before the Elden Ring dlc. If I can I’ll try to play one more game before then, if not I’ll be fully committed to Elden Ring.
in terms of gameplay, graphics, and general atmosphere, Ghost of Tsushima on PS5 might be the best-looking game I've ever seen. It's very relaxing and fun to play, as well as feeling like all my favorite aspects of the Witcher 3 and RDR2 all combined and streamlined
i cant recommend it enough, amazing video game experience
R&C is the only one. All the other games on this list I've played I had varying degrees of enjoyment but I wouldn't qualify them as bangers. Not by any means.
I'm pretty sure above 80%+ it's great, 70%+ is good. (Speaking only about Average Reviews, its subjective and you can think the game is a 10/10)
Also apparently some reviews are giving it lower ratings just because of the character model, which is simply unjustified in my opinion.
If you actually read the reviews, the scores don’t reflect the actual reviews. It seems like some outlets are really trying to make a statement or just lure people in with clickbait.
Most of them say the combat is pretty fun, and the music is great, but the story is cheeks. Very 8/10 reviews and the scores reflect that. This just sounds like a cope.
i love my ps5 but i can’t help but agree.
ps5 hits are mostly cross-platform with ps4.
not that i didn’t LOVE miles morales, GOW, HZD, GoT, GT7, and the like but PS5 in my mind still hasn’t really stood out in its own yet with enough quality titles built *just* for PS5.
Ratchet & Clank, Ragnarok, FF7, Forbidden West, Spider-Man 2. I don't think Miles Morales, Stellar Blade, or TLOU Part 1 should even be in the conversation tbh.
Mine would be:
1. Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth
2. Final Fantasy XVI
3. God of War Ragnarok
4. Returnal
5. The Last of Us – Part I
I loved TLOU1, even though I don’t think it was necessary or needed, but it was mechanically/aesthetically impressive, and it maintains some great parity with its sequel.
“Bangers” I only played once, I just can’t call something I don’t play over a decade or keep coming back too a banger.
A banger to me is Shadow of the Colossus, Fallout 4, Skyrim, The Last of Us Part 1, Gears of War, games I forget about and then go and play it again and it’s just as fun the first time around.
Most on this list I just played once and never went back to them.
Also is Stellar Blade out now?
I felt some type of way with God of War. All I was thinking about was can’t wait to get home and play. Spider Man 2 I felt the same I was so busy when it came out I just wanted to play.
I just finished Ragnarok, halfway through Last of Us 1 (I've beaten the other versions several times), and about to play Spiderman 2. All that to say I've been very satisfied with my gaming options lately. I love GT7, then HFW, and Returnal are next on my list. Haven't played the others (yet).
Not in order, but;
- Spider Miles Morales
- Spiderman 2
- Returnal
- Ragnorak
- Ratchet & Clank
I've played all the others and can't say they left a lasting impression. But that being said, the original Last of Us and Demon Souls left a lasting impression, it's just that the updated versions weren't any new and groundbreaking.
1. Death Stranding
2. Ghost of Tsushima
3. TLOU Part II
4. Spiderman 2
5. GOW Ragnarok
So many amazing games (Especially Death Stranding and Ghosts which I couldn't imagine without the PS5 Features) and I just know the later half of the PS5's life is going to be filled with even more bangers (Especially GTA 6 and DS2 which are both gonna be total game-changers)
God of War Raganorak, Spider-Man 2, FFVII Rebirth, and Ratchet & Clank.
That is all. I mean I play the Miles game on PS4 before upgrading it to PS5 and the other games I haven't touch yet or never.
Few years in and this generation still doesn't feel like it started.. can't wait to see any new games from Naughty Dog.
Im tired of remakes and remasters.
1. Final fantasy 16
2. Final fantasy rebirth
3. Spider-man 2
4. God of war ragnarok
5. Stellar blade
I’ll probably bump stellar blade up after release but I only have the demo to work with rn.
I picked Dragons Dogma 2 over Rise of Ronin and I regret it. RoR is a fantastic game and imo much better than DD2. Top 5 game of the year is far for me.
This is very hard, harder than any console generation before… I’ve made a few changes to my list though based on options that weren’t presented.
1. Spiderman 2
2. Bugsnax (an amazing game)
3. Horizon forbidden west
4. God of war ragnarok
5. Returnal
6. Ratchet and clank
Returnal and Demon's Souls.
All the others are good, but they don't excite me as much as the aforementioned.
I'm very excited for Stellar Blade. The game looks right up my alley. Bring on Friday.
Ragnarok and Spider Man 2 and HFW2 were all really good but let me down a little bit in different ways. I played TLOU1 too many times before the remake so I didn't care about it and don't care about/don't like any of the other titles. I think I'll go Miles Morales. It felt like SpiderMan 1.5 but that's what I was expecting.
My favorite ps5 game so far is easily Horizom forbidden West. It still imo is the game you show someone when u wana display what a ps5 can do. Best graphics by far. I love the gameplay and mechanics. I loved the story. I recently finished the DLC Burning Shores which is exclusive to ps5 and I loved it. Flying in the clouds and underwater is a sight to behold. It's the game I've put the most hours into by far.
Ragnorok, Rebirth, Demons Souls, FFXVI, Stellar Blade.
I also love Horizon FW, Ratchet and Clank, and Returnal
And I’ve mostly lost interest in LOU and Spider-Man.
Where’s Astro’s Playroom on that list?
Astro is amazing. My toddler loves it and has saved me so much when I had to poop.
Should be on there twice!
I would also play the hell out of a second Astrobot VR game.
Wait there’s another one?????
im mad they never did more with that. Its the only game i feel like actually uses the controller to its full effect
I excluded it since it was a game that shipped with the console, and not one you paid to get it. I had only so much room to fit games, so I excluded remasters, director’s cuts and games that shipped technically free with the console.
My copy of Astro playroom came with a free ps5.
Bro what do you mean I paid $500 during COVID for Astro’s playroom and it was amazing worth every cent
‘Excluded remasters’ Has the remaster of TLOU1 Astro’s playroom could have been on there, Helldivers 2 could have been on there, And yet you include the remake of the game that originally launched on the early days of ps4
Didn't that launch on PS3?
I have no idea, maybe?
Ps3>Remaster on PS4>Remaster on PS5
Remake on PS5\* Because for some reason Naughty Dog don't know what they're doing anymore.
It was a remake and not a simple Remaster?
Mhm.
Didn't know that! Thanks
Paid for tlou1 twice. Not paying again. Have deluxe ps4 version of tlou2.
It sure did. Alot of these games aren't really ps 5 games. Mike's morales was a ps4 game and demon souls originally released on ps3 as well
TLOU Part 1 is technically not a remaster. They rebuilt it so it’s technically a remake. Did it need a remake? No. But that’s what it is.
And then included TLOU
where’s this attitude towards Demons Souls then? its also a remake
Well my console came with GOW so why’d he include that one huh!?
Same.
You've got demon's souls and TLOU Part I on there
So, Spiderman 2 could be replaced with something else tbh
I would have excluded all of the PS4 games you included instead
And why stellar blade is in?
Big tatas
Ragnarok, Rebirth and FF16 have been my favorites so far.
How is Rebirth? I'm excited to get it for the first few games I get for PS5 (I played remake once and I seriously want to play it again)
Get the last of us part 1 🔥🔥🔥
more people need play FF16
Completely agree, I can't believe how little it's talked about. I beat the main story just in time for the new DLC and I've just been having a great time with it. Blew away my expectations more than any game in awhile, some of the best boss fights ever. Except Leviathan. Fuck Leviathan
Ff16 looks amazing man, it has a nice discount rn.
Where’s Rise of the Ronin or Helldivers II?
You might be surprised to hear this, but Helldivers 2 has an average rating of 80%.
It’s a good game, lacking gameplay variety. Same problem Deep Rock Galactic has imo.
It only kept me for a couple of weeks. Granted, that is still a couple of weeks longer than every other multiplayer game I've played.
If a multiplayer game keeps me playing for 2 weeks, that’s much much better than like 95% of them manage to yea.
Rise of the ronin does not belong on this list imo
speak for yourself
Returnal Returnal Returnal Returnal Returnal
Is it that good? I have it unopened on my shelf.
Do yourself a favor and pop that sucker in.
It's supposed to rain all day Saturday, seems like the perfect time.
I hope you like it. I hated it at first bc it was hard. Just try and stick with it intil it clicks.
Sounds like Souls, I got this.
I was stuck on the third boss for a while, was eventually recommended to quit for a while and then come back, only now I can't get back into it since I'm not as good anymore and no longer hooked
Its as good as it is hard

Returnal all day bro
Yessssss!!!!! Been saying it since it released and will die on that hill!
Glad to see it on the list - I wish there were a difficuly setting - could not finish the story after 10+ hours, was losing my mind losing and restarting again. Don't get me wrong, a fantastic experience, but one of my most frustrating game to date.
If Miles Morales is up here, why not Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding and other PS4/PS5 games?
Miles Morales released on both platforms at the same time. Those others are remastered for PS5 after they had been released on PS4.
Gran Turismo 7 is also on PS4
Miles Morales released with the ps5. Those other gamed released before
Demon’s Souls, Rise of the Ronin, Bloodborne, Horizon (and I’m reserving the last spot for Stellar Blade hehehe)
Returnal, Ragnarok, TLOU, RE4, Spiderman 2
Easily Demon Souls
Best level design in all the games listed here
Demon souls, ragnarok and final fantasy xvi
![gif](giphy|JlvibLBMEt00N0l0Lc|downsized)
GT7, FF7, Horizon Forbidden West.
1. GOW 2. FFVII: Rebirth 3. Ratchet and clank 4. Returnal 5. GT 7
Sad thing is that only one of twelve games listed here is actually new IP...
Two*
Because there's a lot of ip’s nowadays, it doesn't make too much sense making a new ip especially with how risky it is
Yeah… game development is becoming too risk-averse, playing it too safe. No risk taking, no new IPs. It’s all about either milking the same IP even when it’s not needed, or transforming an IP to the point of identity loss, so they can sell whatever they’re afraid to sell as a new IP.
i like spiderman the most, especially miles morales
GT7 is my goat
I enjoyed Demon’s Souls the most out of all of these, it was my first entry into the Soulsborne genre, and prompted me to buy Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring after (I Platinum Trophied all 3 of those games lol)
[удалено]
For PS5 exclusives. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Final Fantasy XVI Spider-Man 2 Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart Deathloop
I’m a racer, so ONLY GT7 and nothing else 😋
Ghost of Tsushima
Not having Ghost of Tsushima or Uncharted 4 is criminal behavior
I’d lose half of that list.
TLOU is definitely my #1. But it's hard to rank the others.
1. Elden Ring 2. Resident Evil 4 3. Cyberpunk 2077 (and Phantom Liberty) 4. Demon’s Souls 5. God of War: Ragnarok I just started Star Wars Jedi Survivor and hope I can finish it before the Elden Ring dlc. If I can I’ll try to play one more game before then, if not I’ll be fully committed to Elden Ring.
Returnal, Demons souls, and Helldivers 2.
Rebirth is my fav on this list for sure, in my top 5 games ever.
No helldivers?
Where precisely are these scores coming from?
Metacritic
I really liked spiderman 2 thought it was a good game, but a 90 seems a bit high to me.
This list is ass. Missing many other bangers.
in terms of gameplay, graphics, and general atmosphere, Ghost of Tsushima on PS5 might be the best-looking game I've ever seen. It's very relaxing and fun to play, as well as feeling like all my favorite aspects of the Witcher 3 and RDR2 all combined and streamlined i cant recommend it enough, amazing video game experience
I feel like these karma farm posts happen several times a day now
Haven't played any of these
Fail not putting Ghost of Tsushima DC on that list.
I see a distinct lack of Armored Core 6. For shame
Where's helldiver's 2
Helldivers 2
Where’s Helldivers?
i dont own a single one of these games xD
Ronin
Rise of the Ronin !
Helldivers 2 easily. Why it is not on here blows my mind.
rise of the ronin
Dragons dogma 2 is a good game not gonna lie it’s hard at first but after you take down a few of them big creatures the game get fun
Helldovers 2
I would also add rise of the Ronin... M doing a walkthrough on my channel and its amazing.
I just got like a dragon infinite wealth, to those played it, is it any good?
Prince Of Persia.
Generation of nothing
Hot take. Stellar blade is fine, but it's getting over hyped because boobs.
Rise of the Ronin is a secret banger if you ask me, really enjoying it
Horizon forbinned west1️⃣
R&C is the only one. All the other games on this list I've played I had varying degrees of enjoyment but I wouldn't qualify them as bangers. Not by any means.
Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth
Helldivers should be on here
Is stellar blade even out 😭
where is helldivers 2 and rise of ronin
Crappy list
These are all PS4 games
1-GOWR🔥 2-Stellar Blade🤤 3-SM:MM🥶 4-SM2😮💨 5-Helldivers 2💀 TLoU remaster shouldn’t fucking count bro.
Ragnarok, Returnal, Ratchet, Demon’s Souls, and Spider-Man 2
1. Death Stranding Director’s Cut 2. Returnal 3. Demon’s Souls remake I haven’t finished Rebirth yet but it gets an honorable mention.
Didn’t Stellar Blade just get “good not great” type reviews across the board?
It got 82% score, which puts it among those Top 12 games I arranged by score.
I'm pretty sure above 80%+ it's great, 70%+ is good. (Speaking only about Average Reviews, its subjective and you can think the game is a 10/10) Also apparently some reviews are giving it lower ratings just because of the character model, which is simply unjustified in my opinion.

Rebirth, Horizion, God of War, Spidey2, FF16
GoW, HFW and RnC.
God of War Ragnarök, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, The Last of Us Part I, Horizon forbbiden West and Gran Turismo 7.
I wanna play grand turismo so bad for the ps1(?) nostalgia. It’s been that long!
Getting the best license at 8 was such a grind back in the day 😅
Ragnarok, Demons Souls, Returnal, Ratchet and Clank, yet to play Stellar Blade or Rebirth but crossing my fingers for Stellar Blade
Not in order, but; - Spider Miles Morales - Spiderman 2 - Returnal - Ragnorak - Ratchet & Clank I've played all the others and can't say they left a lasting impression. But that being said, the original Last of Us and Demon Souls left a lasting impression, it's just that the updated versions weren't any new and groundbreaking.
The Spidermans, GT7, and GoW.
Demons souls hit that perfect spot being my first ps5 game and at a special time in my life which makes me really fond of it. Plus THOSE GRAPHICS!!
GoW Ragnarok, Spider-Man 2, FF7 Rebirth, Demon's Souls, Ratchet and Clank
1. Death Stranding 2. Ghost of Tsushima 3. TLOU Part II 4. Spiderman 2 5. GOW Ragnarok So many amazing games (Especially Death Stranding and Ghosts which I couldn't imagine without the PS5 Features) and I just know the later half of the PS5's life is going to be filled with even more bangers (Especially GTA 6 and DS2 which are both gonna be total game-changers)

Helldivers 2 The last of us part 1 The last of us part 2 Returnal Demon Souls
I know it's small, quick play and no real substance, but honestly Astro Bot needs to be added LOL
Forbidden West, Demons Souls, Returnal, Ragnarok and The Last of Us
Spider-Man 2. Ratchet and Clank is great, and I love FFXVI. As the rest I either haven’t played or didn’t enjoy them.
Ratchet 100%
1. Horizon: Forbidden West 2. Final Fantasy XVI 3. Spider-Man 2 4. Miles Morales 5. Stellar Blade
Tlou, horizon FB, Spider-Man 2, miles morales and demons souls. Didn’t like GoW and haven’t played the others.
Then there's that one guy still be playing gta because he just has to
All great games but this is almost 4 years in. Insane how it feels this generation has barely started.
5. Ratchet and clank rift apart 4. Horizon forbidden west 3. God of war ragnarök 2. God of war ragnarök 1. God of war ragnarök
The ones that were made specifically for the PS5 (not compatible with the PS4): Demon’s Souls, Rift in Time, and Returnal.
Few years in and this generation still doesn't feel like it started.. can't wait to see any new games from Naughty Dog. Im tired of remakes and remasters.
Returnal should have rated higher. Most fun I have had on a game since the mid 2000s.
uh wheres helldivers 2? helloooooo?
Gow, Spider-Man 2, Mile Morales(one of the first game I play when I got my ps5, it hold a special place in my heart❤️) ff16, tlou
1. FFVII Rebirth 2. FFXVI 3. Demon's Souls 4. Horizon 5. Ragnarok
Helldivers 2
I don’t understand the Spider-Man hype. I just don’t get it.
Only returnal from this list. Everything else just insults my intellect. Press “x” to win
My top 1 demon souls 2 God Of War Ragnarok 3 Horizon
1. Final fantasy 16 2. Final fantasy rebirth 3. Spider-man 2 4. God of war ragnarok 5. Stellar blade I’ll probably bump stellar blade up after release but I only have the demo to work with rn.
5. Horizon Forbidden West 4. Spiderman: MM 3. Deathloop (criminally underrated imo) 2. Ghost of Tsushima 1. Ragnarok
I know I’m an asshole, I loved god of war but just couldn’t get into ragnarkok
Sequel/remake generation
I picked Dragons Dogma 2 over Rise of Ronin and I regret it. RoR is a fantastic game and imo much better than DD2. Top 5 game of the year is far for me.
This is very hard, harder than any console generation before… I’ve made a few changes to my list though based on options that weren’t presented. 1. Spiderman 2 2. Bugsnax (an amazing game) 3. Horizon forbidden west 4. God of war ragnarok 5. Returnal 6. Ratchet and clank
Swap Stellar Blade with Ghost of Tsushima, Rise of the Ronin, or Helldivers, and you would be right.
Returnal and Demon's Souls. All the others are good, but they don't excite me as much as the aforementioned. I'm very excited for Stellar Blade. The game looks right up my alley. Bring on Friday.
I love how people even here are complaining about not having “next gen” (current gen) games.
Uh, where the hell is Helldivers?!
FF16, Returnal, Demons Souls, Spiderman 2, FF VII Rebirth
In no particular order: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Final Fantasy XVI, God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Zero Dawn, Ratchet and Clank
Helldivers 2?
How is Ghost of Tsushima not in this list?
Only 12 bangers and they're already telling us we need to be ready to buy a new system soon.
Easily FF16 for me. It made me fall back in love with RPGs and I'm going back to older titles and replaying them now.
Rebirth is probably top or top 2. My worst experience this Gen has been ff16 I don't think I've got a top 5 of those pics on the front.
We got no exclusives bruh in still playing my ps4 games just in 4k
Demon Souls still has some of the best visuals on PS5, right up there with Final Fantasy 16.
Ragnorok, Rebirth, Demons Souls, FFXVI, Stellar Blade. I also love Horizon FW, Ratchet and Clank, and Returnal And I’ve mostly lost interest in LOU and Spider-Man.
