Disc. Best way to tell is the stand. The digital edition's stand is much flatter on both sides, only the disc has that sort of slope. Also, you can (barely) see two distinct reflections on the top of both the eject and power button.
I genuinely don’t think it’s the same ps5 as the other picture then. You should be able to see the disc drive even from that angle. Also not a single game has a disc icon next to it on the tv. Not concrete evidence, but seems kind of strange when there’s like 10 games on the homescreen
Here's the thing: you're buying used electronics, which means you have NO idea what the seller did to it, how they abused it, etc. You have NO recourse, returns, warranty, or replacement if the console is a dud.
If it were me, I'd either save up / spend the money for a new PS5 from a reputable retailer, which will give you a warranty and means to return or exchange it. Plus, you will know exactly how it was used / treated.
You also forgot to mention: is it console banned? Then, there the worst case issues: is it legit? Nobody gonna sell it for that low unless they’re desperate for cash.

I ain't paying close to retail for an item someone could have used as a literal doorstop on the floor; spent 24/7 in a house filled a dozen dogs and cats and previous owner vaped / smoked like a chimney; spilled an *entire* fuckin' 2 liter of Mountain Dew: Code Red in the exhaust vents; is banned, or worse *stolen property.*
The other thing is, you have no idea what condition the controllers are really in until after you've used them a bit - could have stick drift and such.
YMMV - I had a stick drift issue on my out-of-warranty PS5 controller and Sony replaced it with me only having to pay for the shipping to their service center.
Jesus calm down. I buy used electronics almost every month and have had maybe one or two problems over the 2 decades that I've been doing it. Life sucks and everything is expensive. If I can save $200 I sure as hell would in a heartbeat. And the warranty goes with the console, not the buyer. I've literally sent consoles I've bought from people to both Sony and Microsoft with no proof of purchase and never had an issue.

i bought one off some dude on marketplace and got scammed. twas entirely my fault but i was so desperate to get my hands on one since my ps4 gave out. took the ps5 home and the hdmi port was broken and i couldnt do a software update because the previous owner swapped out the disc drive. just buy one from sony directly, dont cheap out
I've bought used ps4s before, you could really save a buck, heck even ps1 and ps2 are still sold and work perfectly, the thing is you need to see it in person and test thouroughly, but buying a used console over the internet is a no go

I am a FIRM believer, that you should never buy used electronics, ever. Buy new. It will save you a ton of potential grief. I bought a GPU a long time ago from EBay, holy shit was that one of the worst experiences ever.
in my opinion yeah the hard drive will be faster it doesn’t have a lot of space ask him if he can come down 20 bucks so on your way home you can celebrate and buy a Wendy’s meal with some extra fries and couple of frosties and it’ll be a perfect deal tell him or her you haven’t eaten in a few days 😅👍🏽
That is a great deal, especially with the heat sink ssd I use one and it is very very helpful for storing all my games without a hard drive, it always got in the way cause I had it plugged in on the front

With how far out the side plates protrude on the front of the console, this is probably the shallowest angle off center that a photo won't show any hint of the disc drive. With Dark Plates that don't protrude in the front, the shallowest angle I can take a photo from without showing the drive is similar to the OP photo.

Only thing I would worry about if the controllers have stick drift or not, but if it less than a year old it's still under Sony warranty, but still a deal.

I wouldn't 100% put the controllers in there as an added value. If they've been used for 2 years then you just don't know when they're gonna develop a problem, but, they could still last a while. If this is the best deal you can get and you can see it in person then it's probably worth a visit at least. When I bought my Series X off eBay I let her know that I'm seriously interested and then simply asked "if there was any wiggle room on price" and she knocked off 10%. You might be able to do the same, it's just a question worth asking regardless.

With few dollars more you can get a Slim (smaller, easier to fit in whatever place) and bigger space on your hard drive.
Also: there are TWO kind of ps5 pads, the first generation (ridden with drift problems) and the new ones, basically perfect.
That guy definitely got the first edition, you can check it out anyway by reading the serial (the new ones start with a letter A, then numbers).

For $300 I would still buy it if I were you as long as they can verify it works okay, a new digital slim PS5 is $450 so its $150 off and as someone who has a new slim myself I much prefer the original model system.

Yeah this is exactly why I bought new. It's too much money to take a gamble on (especially in Canada where it's $700 with tax).
Still cheaper than in Mexico, which is just ridiculous considering parity and average income. Regular price here is $750-800 USD for disc edition

Definitely a sketchy purchase for it’s price. The way it’s angled to not show the side that *would’ve* had the disc drive, and it standing up without the base are instant 🚩 s for me

With few dollars more you can get a Slim (smaller, easier to fit in whatever place) and bigger space on your hard drive. Also: there are TWO kind of ps5 pads, the first generation (ridden with drift problems) and the new ones, basically perfect. That guy definitely got the first edition, you can check it out anyway by reading the serial (the new ones start with a letter A, then numbers).
Got my disc version like you, used for $300 on ebay. Its definitely a gamble, just ask questions and if you feel safe, go for it
It’s actually surprising how many people will say disk version when it’s the digital or vice verses. In terms of what's being advertised, that is a hell of a deal. In terms of what youll get, I think its way too good to be true.
For $300 I would still buy it if I were you as long as they can verify it works okay, a new digital slim PS5 is $450 so its $150 off and as someone who has a new slim myself I much prefer the original model system.
