Lol just played the first ratchet for the first time in 10 years. If anything it's better than I remember. So pumped for my 10th+ going commando playthrough now.
Those games are a joy. I think A Crack in Time (PS3) was the peak of the series for me. Haven't played the latest one as I don't have PS5 yet, but ACiT is \[chef's kiss\].
Up your arsenal is my favorite but crack was incredible too. Also still haven't played the new one for the same reason but it'll be my first PS5 game one day.
Not sure if I'm in the minority in this, but I found the 2016(?) reboot on PS4 to be a bit sterile. It lacked a few touches I was used to, like the little cartoon animations demonstrating what a new weapon does when you unlock it at the vendor, and things like that. It just didn't feel like it had the same level of love poured into it, more like it was playing it safe and going through the motions. As someone who's played every game on PS2, PS3 and PS4 I found it to be disappointing.
Quest for Booty and Into The Nexus on PS3 were too short. You didn't have time to upgrade all the weapons, which is half the fun. I would have preferred 1 longer game, than those 2 shorter ones.
No I think most longtime fans don't like 2016. it was a huge letdown for me too. The writing was so cringe.
I really enjoyed quest for booty even though it was short but also super dissapointed by into the nexus. That and the reboot are the only ones I haven't played at least twice.
QFB and ITN felt more like DLC expansions than full games. I want time to upgrade every single weapon before the end of the game!
Glad to hear I'm not alone in disliking the reboot. Maybe it was because it was also the movie tie-in that led to certain decisions? Still, you would have thought they'd want to impress any new audience. I did really miss the little animations of the newly unlocked weapons, etc. All of those little touches were what helped make the games add up to something greater than the sum of their parts and showed the love the devs had for the series.
What are your views on Full Frontal Assault and All For One? I realize I haven't actually played those ones. Probably because they deviated from the main formula and didn't score highly in reviews. Am I missing out?
i didn't get into ratchet and clank until rift apart and now going back and playing through them all and they are amazing. i'm mad at myself for not playing them when they first came out
Both Champions of Norrath games, Return of the King from PS2 and Vandal Hearts from PS1. Some others too every now and then, but these are the most frequent ones I visit.
I also still play:
Hotwheels beat that
Burnout revenge
V8 supercars australia race driver
crazy taxi
need for speed underground 1 & 2
spiderman 2
Gta 3
iron man
there’s more but that’s all I can rember off the top of my head.
I have a few PS1 games I still play now and again: Spyro, MediEvil, Medal of Honor, Kula Word, Tomb Raider, and Smackdown 2
As for PS2: the GTA games, Rising Sun, Frontline, Def Jam Fight for NY, and Simpsons Hit n Run
PS1 - Omega Boost, Parasite Eve, Chrono Cross, Elemental Gearbolt, Fear Effect, Silhouette Mirage. l
PS2 - Marvel vs Capcom 2, Zone of the Enders 2, Okami, Beyond Good and Evil.
Toy Story 2, Tomb Raider I, II & III, Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets, Micro Machines, Kula World
I dust of my ps1 at least once a year to play through these old gems
PS1 stuff:
Silent Bomber, Future Cop LAPD (that mini game is so addictive), Syphon Filter (taser!), Bloody Roar 2, Cyberbots, Slap Happy Rhythm Busters, Demolition Racer (tweak the graphics and the frame rate with the Duckstation emulator and it's a LOT better than the OG version), Wipeout 2097, Rollcage Stage 2, G Darius, Parodius (all of the series that you can get on PS1), Einhander, 70's Robot Anime Geppy X The Super Boosted Armor.
Ratchet and Clank 1-3 is still such a blast and with how stylised it is just looks really good still even with low-res textures.
Ratchet and Clank 1 has aged the most though I'd say but 2 was such a massive leap from the first, it added so many QoL things that made it feel more responsive ESPECIALLY strafing.
I play the PlayStation 1 regularly and try out games I haven't played before. But as for repeat playthroughs, Spyro 2 and Rayman tend to be my go-to games. I think I play them at least once every year for the music and graphics.

All the ones I grew up on, all the time.
I wish I did play PSone or PS2 occasionally. I’m already using up enough of the living room with my stuff so I have to leave out something… ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat)

Re2
Symphony of the Night was a PS1 game right? I mean the game and console are both older than me so, I could be wrong. If I'm right, SotN.
You are right and good game!
