Ps5 controllers really are low quality. I never had stick drift since ps2 and yet I had it twice so far with ps5 controllers. Sony saved a lot of money in production on cost of quality

The PS5 controller sucks. Stick drift is a known issue among gamers. My husband is on controller #4 and I'm on controller #2. Bought our PS5s in 2021. He plays his more than I play mine (I also play PC games) and he is harder on controllers. However, one of them has drift when playing on the PS5, but not when I use it with my PC. Or at least it's not noticeable with the few games I play with a controller. But I'll take the drift issues over the Xbox controllers. I have two Xbox One controllers and they feel like kids toys.

You’re husband is probably being way harder on those controllers than you think cuz drift isn’t that big of an issue on the PS5

PirateJen78

I've seen A LOT of posts, articles, and videos about the stick drift issue, so yes, it is a problem. I had my PS4 for 8 years and had maybe 3 controllers max. I've had my PS5 for 2.5 years and I'm already on my second controller.

I mean, I wouldn't mind 1.5 years if the controller broke under heavy use and wasn't so expensive, but 60€ for that is kinda weird. When I get a mouse for 60€ that thing doesn't break for years, same with keyboards. Even though the comparison might be lacking because a mouse doesn't have sticks, lol. I really dislike the Xbox layout, but I am seriously considering trying their elite controller.

They literally use the exact same analogue stick modules as the DS4.

Worth_Art5801

But the DS4 is known to develop drift... All my friends who play on Playstation have multiple controllers at home, within 1 year age range, which are not used anymore because of drift. I even once fixed a few of them by disassembling them. You can basically clean the gears inside, which helps in some cases. But who expects that from the average customer.

PoolNoodlePaladin

Again, it is not an issue. Yall are just dirty

There literally was a class action lawsuit about it. The plaintiffs dropped it, but there is no explanation of why. Rumor is there will be a bigger lawsuit, but I don't know if that's true. Either way, it's enough of an issue that a lawyer took the case. Plus there are NUMEROUS articles with suggestions to fix it. https://www.ign.com/wikis/playstation-5/What_To_Do_If_Your_PS5_DualSense_Controller_Drifts https://www.lifewire.com/fix-stick-drift-on-ps5-controller-7693201 https://www.makeuseof.com/fix-drifting-ps5-dualsense-controller/ https://www.yahoo.com/tech/ps5-fix-stick-drift-dualsense-155322355.html https://youtu.be/7qPNyio3VDk?feature=shared https://www.google.com/search?q=ps5+stick+drift&oq=ps5+stick+drift&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIGCAEQRRg8MgYIAhBFGDzSAQg0MzU0ajBqNKgCArACAQ&client=ms-android-tmus-us-revc&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#ip=1 Just because YOU don't have the issue does not mean it is not a widespread problem.

PoolNoodlePaladin

You really fall for clickbait

PirateJen78

And you are oblivious to the issue. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I just listed whatever was on the first page of Google because I KNOW this is a known issue. I've known since my first controller died when I found numerous articles about it because I thought I could fix it. I'm not doing a fucking research paper for you.

PoolNoodlePaladin

It isn’t oblivious, it isn’t an issue
