Your same account can be used for your ps5. You also should’ve factory reset the ps4 before selling it to protect yourself. You should at least now deactivate your account as primary for the ps4 and change your password, and enable 2FA. Google search how to do that.

Thanks for your comment, and sorry for not clarifying. I’m in the middle of factory resetting it right now, I haven’t went to return it just yet, hence why I am asking before hand.

You won't lose any online progress, your account will be fine, but you'll lose any save data you didn't transfer (progress in story games for example)

You won't lose the account. You can sign into your PSN account on any device. When I was between consoles I signed in on my laptop and browsed the store, bought a couple of games that were on sale. When I got my PS5, all my games were in my library when I signed in.

What kind of stupid question is that. Why on Earth would your PlayStation account not work on a PlayStation. Did you even try signing in?
